Together. Towels are towels and all of them that I own are colors so no need to worry about bleaching the white ones.

Ok, wait, what!? How on earth does that even happen? WHY would you ask her to explain?? As if there's questions at 2peas that are off-limits. This has never happened to me. Well maybe once or twice in all my years. She said it's a frequent occurrence and I'm now realizing some people just constantly drip I guess. 🤷♀️

She's often over the top and her explanations a little more so. This time it wasn't so bad. I agree with your reasoning though, I didn't realize it was a thing either.

Together. Most weeks I'm just happy if the laundry gets done. Yep! Me too! I did 3 loads today. One more, maybe 2, tomorrow. AND it wasn’t even a bed stripping week!

You're right, her answers are typically colorful. Ironic how myshelly gave the most perfectly plain answer ever this time. 😂

But enough that for 4-5 days a month it’s definitely on every towel every day. And IMO, that’s the one time of the month I can *see* the bodily secretions, but I’m sure they’re on every towel after every shower. Just most of the month they’re clear instead of red. But they’re there, which is why I use a new towel after every shower and don’t want kitchen and bath to mix.

Well shit, I used to wash them all together but I have a feeling after reading this I will be washing them separately. I never even thought about this before but you can bet every time I do towels now I will think of the pease! Lol. That seems to happen to me a lot from this wonderful place.

Together on a very hot wash.I guess everything on those towels will be killed after the wash cycle has finished I don't wash other clothes on that hot a wash so there's only towels in there, be it kitchen or bathroom ones. I'm not going to wash 7 or 8 kitchen towels on their own, which is what I have generally on a weekly basis, what a waste of resources.

i wash everything together. except blacks - i usually do a separate load of them and put on delicate cycle.
i am sure this might freak some people out but...i wash most of my laundry in cold/cold.
i used to have an eco-warm setting on my old machine but don't in my new house. so cold it is.
my old washer also had a recall that they were setting on fire so suggested not doing heavy loads of just towels or just jeans so i got into the habit of throwing 2 or 3 bath towels max in a load.
and now i have a line so i am trying to hang most of my stuff.
i assume the water sloshing and the cold water detergent i buy is taking care of anything that needs to be taken care of. and they are our *own* germs, so i am not that worried about it.
i wash bedding in warm water.

Together - honestly it's just DH and I in the house - I have 2 loads of clothes each week and one load of towels. I wash bedding every other week and it usually fits in with the load of towels. My laundry process is very simple.

I might have groaned a little when I saw this thread because I currently have a load of towels and kitchen towels mixed together in the machine. Happily surprised that I am not a freak according to the poll. On here, sometimes you don't even know you're a - germ spreading, horrible person, sloppy housekeeper,- until the Peas tell you so!

On here, sometimes you don't even know you're a - germ spreading, horrible person, sloppy housekeeper,- until the Peas tell you so! it popped into my head because I had enough for two loads and because I gather all one type of towel first, they ended up in separate loads. Usually I wash together unless the kitchen towels have an odor and then they get a pre soak in vinegar

i am sure this might freak some people out but...i wash most of my laundry in cold/cold. I was almost everything in cold also. It's a carry over habit from when I was a kid and my mom actually even had the hot water setting on our washer disabled. She did not believe in wasting money on paying for hot water for laundry LOL.

All together but with like colors, unless I have enough towels, both bath and kitchen, to make a full load. Because I am confident that my washer and the Tide with Oxiclean detergent that I use will actually clean stuff!

Together in warm water.
I wash rags separately because those get bleached then I usually wash a separate small load of microfiber cloths.

Together. For those who do them separately, what’s the big deal? Which towels are you afraid will contaminate the other towels? They all come out clean, so I don’t understand! For me it’s hair. I use hair towels and plop shirts - those are covered in hair - and regular towels are covered in body hair. Just kinda gross to think about. Plus I use so many kitchen towels it’s no problem to have a load. Why so much hair loss? That doesn’t sound normal.

I use paper towels when I’m in the kitchen, which is almost never. I don’t own kitchen towels. Our kitchen is used mostly for making drinks.
Like it or don’t. Whatever.

It’s very normal for each of us, just we each lose more hair than anyone else in the house. Only my hair is mostly on my clothing so it doesn’t as much matter how I wash the towels.

The separately voting peas would freak out at my sister who gathers all of each days laundry and washes it together. Kitchen towel, rags, underwear, jeans, shirts. So she's always caught up on laundry. She will do sheets separately when it's time to change bedding. Or a bunch of towels. I don't like it because different materials wear down others and take longer to dry than others. I didn't realise we were sisters, lol. I toss a load of random laundry in every day - the only things I wash separately are my kitchen mats and bedding (because my machine has a separate setting for stuff like that so it doesn't un-balance (and since my previous machine literally shook itself to death due to unbalancing...). I did wash diapers separately back in the day. I still use a clothesline so stuff can take as long as it needs to dry...

muggins I also toss my wet/dirty dish towels down the basement steps. I usually hit the concrete below, but not always. Glad to know I’m not the only lazy one!!! 😂

I separate a lot less of laundry stuff than I used to. Rarely even use HOT water anymore. I'm finding I wasted a lot of time back in the day when I did. Who made those damn rules anyway? I think with the machines and detergents we have now, a lot of the old "rules" are unnecessary.
