I just read a recommendation for a Sephora lip mask on another thread, but was wondering what other things people have tried and would recommend. A Sephora has just opened up in our city and I will be going there to check it out in a few weeks, but don't want to go crazy and just buy everything! I'm 56 and don't wear a lot of makeup but would like some nice everyday stuff. I have pretty good skin for my age- but do have dark circles and puffiness under my eyes. Any suggestions very much welcomed. Thanks Corinne *It is nearly midnight here in Australia so will come back tomorrow !

If you want my honest truth makeup and skin care varies so much from person to person. I'd recommend going with specific concerns or just areas you'd like guidance with and ask for help. Their employees are trained to provide the help. Oh and they offer free samples so you can try before you buy.

I go there and looks at the products then either buy them from Ulta or Amazon. They are usually cheaper and Ulta has better rewards/gifts.

I'd advise against buying beauty products on Amazon, unless it's directly from Amazon (not just fulfilled by Amazon) or the manufacturer's Amazon store front. There are A LOT of counterfeit beauty products on there.

Look through the deluxe sample products by the register. You can try stuff without getting a big amount to see if you like it. Get a rewards card. Also, you can ask for 3 samples of anything in the store, free of charge. You get a nice sample that lasts for a few applications. I like the drug elephant line, bum bum cream!!!, and fenty beauty lip gloss. and many more. Enjoy

The Glow Recipe brand Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask effectively treats milia.
I bought it to help combat the dark circles under my eyes. It did an okay job with that, definitely minimized it to a noticable degree. But what I wasn't expecting and what amazed me was that it completely got rid of the handful of little milia bumps I had around my eyes. Now, it took a couple of months to get rid of them, but it did.

I like Farmacy's sunscreen and their "green clean" cleansing balm. I don't use the balm everyday, just when I feel I need an extra pre-cleanse, but it smells really lovely and makes my happy, so there's a bit of self-care there.
I also like Shiseido's facial cotton for things like toner or eye makeup remover. Very soft.

The Glow Recipe brand Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask effectively treats milia I just bought this yesterday and eager to start using it - I'm starting to get a few little wrinkles under my eyes so hoping the retinol will help with that.

Thanks so much! I am printing out this list to take with me. I definitely will ask for samples and start with the skin care items before I move onto the makeup.

I had never thought about the quality of cotton pads before, but there is a huge difference with those. I will splurge on those so long as I can. But I do cut them in half to make them last longer and try to stock up when I have 20% off.

There are A LOT of counterfeit beauty products on there. DD just received some counterfeit IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye from Amazon last week. The jar looked legit, but the color of the product was wrong as was the texture. She was trying to save money and wasn't aware of the counterfeit issue. She returned it and order directly from Sephora.

She has had them cut out in past but ones super close to her eyes or on lids, are too dangerous to remove. Looking at the reviews it states those with sensitive skin had some issues with burning. Do you have sensitive skin? Some stated it is very hydrating which I would love.

Do you have sensitive skin? Some stated it is very hydrating which I would love. I have had it burn a couple times, but it's absolutely not every day and it goes away very quickly. It's very random for me. I LOVE the stuff. I recently bought an Hourglass Ambient Lighting blush for the first time and I love it. I picked mood exposure. I had a $20 reward note from Nordstrom, so I got the holiday limited edition Ghost Ambient Lighting Edit face palette. I've only used it once so far, but I liked it. Dior Backstage eyeshadow palette in Cool Neutrals. It's my go to for quick everyday looks. Kilian Princess perfume YSL Black Opium Intense perfume Beauty Blender sponge- The holiday gift set if they have it. It's a great deal. Dior Face & Body foundation Huda Beauty New Nudes palette (probably my overall favorite) Anastasia Beverly Hills palettes. They are great quality, and there are quite a few different colored ones. I seriously couldn't pick just one. I really like Soft Glam, Modern Renaissance, Norvina & Jackie Aina's. I bought the Carli Bybel one last week but haven't tried it yet. I have the Norvina vol 1, but probably wouldn't recommend it unless you really love bright colors (which I don't, I just have no self control and saw "Norvina" and purple and couldn't help myself") Tarte Maneater mascara or Benefit Rollerlash Fenty Gloss Bomb in Fussy Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Have fun, and come update us after you go with what goodies you bought!

I absolutely adore the Sephora Collection Eye Love mini palettes. I have Light Cool and Light Warm and they both are beautifully pigmented and blend so easily. They also have amazing staying power. I use the Milani eye primer and these palettes last longer through out the day than my high dollar palettes.

I’m a huge fan of Tom a Ford matte lipsticks and Tatcha’s Camellia Oil Cleanser.
I also like The Ordinary’s granactive retinoid and lactic acid. Belif’s Moisture Bomb is quite good as well.

I was curious because you can get the small pack from Sephora online. It's $5 for 40 of them. The regular pack is $12 for 165. I often add in a small pack if I'm buying something else online and I want to get my total up enough to use a free gift coupon. $4 for them is a 20% savings, so that's a good find if you're in there... I just had this vision of them discounting it off the $12 and charging too much.

The last pack I got was actually on clearance for $3.00 Since the regular price is $3.99 for 40, I guess it's a better deal overall to buy the bigger pack. I am WAY more likely to spend a bunch of money in Sephora though, so it's a better value for me to get them at TJ Maxx.

Isn't the 20% off sale soon? Historically, it's 20% off for Rouge, 15% for VIB, and 10% for regular beauty insiders.

Isn't the 20% off sale soon? I think the last sale in August was a "surprise sale", so there hasn't been a fall sale yet. I hope they have one soon, that would be great. Last year I'm pretty sure there was one after a lot of the Christmas gift sets came out.
