Pie! Jellied cranberry sauce and sautéed mushrooms. Hopefully Dad makes Grandmom’s sweet potatoes. They have cherries and pineapples in the sauce.

My favorite is seven layer salad, eaten with a mouthful of biscuit that has just a bit of gravy on it. (One year, my cousin didn't sign up for it right away and I was really worried about who was gonna make it.)

Probably the homemade country style gravy. It's the last thing that comes out of the kitchen with the rolls. It's crack. I poor it on the stuffing, turkey, mashed potatoes....everything. Second, the Slammin' Jammin' Yams a secret recipe from a friend in Louisiana. They simmer all night in butter, spices and orange slices and come out right before the turkey goes in, in the morning. Sweet potato and pecan pies.

All of it. All of the mushy, carb-laden foods.
My personal favorite is stuffing. Cranberry sauce, too. Homemade, of course, though I definitely appreciate the canned stuff, too.

Stuffing with gravy. Runner up is pumpkin pie.
Those things are only made for thanksgiving so they are special (not gravy, but that specific gravy).

Definitely the cranberry orange relish. I eat it on turkey sandwiches and on my oatmeal for the rest of the week.

Mashed rutabaga/yellow turnips. One of my friends was telling me how much she loves rutabagas for Thanksgiving. I thought maybe it was a southern thing because they always have collards, too!

Is it wrong to count gravy?! Dh uses an emeril recipe for the turkey and moscato wine for the gravy. It tastes amazing and is full of flavor!i guess ive had a few bland, tasteless gravies. But otherwise dressing!

Mom's broccoli casserole.
She'll be out of town for Thanksgiving this year, so I'll be making an abbreviated meal (turkey, mashed potatoes, & roasted squash) that does not include her casserole. I'll just have to eat twice as much come Christmas.

Last year by far was the turkey.. never had such GOOD turkey.. and the same person is making it again this year and doing it the same way.. so will probably be awesome again.
Mashed is probably my second.. but what I really really like is like equal parts of turkey, taters, gravy and a bit of stuff all in one bite.. yummmy..
