It sounds like DD’s wedding will be exactly perfect for her and her intended. ❤️ So fun and different! I wish them all the best.

One thing I learned from the peas - if, say, I need to send a sympathy card (or here on this board) and the recipient is Jewish, I will be sure to use “G-d” rather than spelling it out as I pray he comforts them.

PolarGreen12 those gloves were a WIN! 🏆 I was so glad to get one of those u- shaped portable electric neck massager. Until I tried it. 😂 it did not feel good at all.

Wow that’s wild! I LOL at the lady speculating a Venus flytrap might swallow her pets.
This explains why I didn’t get any seeds. (Although I actually did order something recently, I don’t remember if it was Etsy or amazon, that included a little seed packet. But it was clearly marked and branded by the seller I ordered from, with the reason they sent them.)
I was, however, the recipient of brushing. I got several strange items in the mail, it was to my address with someone else’s name. I contacted amazon bc I thought someone would be missing their stuff. The first time they picked it up. After that I was stuck with it. I donated most of it, but ended up keeping an item or two for myself and giving something to my friend. It was the most random thing - like little condoms for your kitchen chair leg to keep them from sliding. And it was exactly what she needed for her new house. Go figure.

Always, if the recipe includes weights, which I prefer. I got mine at Walmart. I think it was maybe $20. I also use my scale when measuring the batter into my cake pans so they’re all even. That’s clever!

While not a Christian, I appreciate the heart and the beauty in your words and the sentiments you expressed so eloquently, Jenjie. I'm guessing there were a few tears shed and laughs shared. Beautifully done, Mama! Thank you! flanz you have always been so kind and supportive even when what I share doesn’t line up with your own personal beliefs. So have many others here. I so appreciate your kindness.

Aww, the little flower girls just melted my hear. And the one of the little girl looking in the mirror at herself. Sigh. In seeing the picture of your boys again, I have changed my mind. I think I need to refer to them as handsome men, not boys. Your daughter is so pretty and looks so incredibly happy. And you look pretty great yourself, Mom. Thank you! Yes! When I posted the pic on FB I said, never have I ever seen this look on her face before you. And Ds23 didn’t know what to do with himself seeing her so happy.

jenjie. Thank you for sharing with us. I'm interested but am having a lot of trouble making out the audio. Would love to read the text. <3 Thanks flanz 😊 It’s my joy and privilege to welcome you as we celebrate God’s goodness to the M and K families. As Caitlin and Isaac begin their lives together, I believe I speak on behalf of her dad, as well as Isaac’s parents, when I say, “This is the Lord’s doing, it is marvelous in our eyes!” Whether you’ve known Caitlin or Isaac since they were born, for a short while, or somewhere in between… each of you is here today because you’ve had a part in shaping their story. Whether you’ve supported them, invested in them, helped them grow, or simply loved them well, thank you for making a difference in their lives. Isaac, now that you’ve signed on the dotted line, I trust you read the fine print. No returns, refunds, no backsies. Because you and Caitlin may be perfect for each other, but that doesn’t mean she’s perfect. Sure, she’s got a sharp mind. She gets that from her dad. And she’s steady like Freddie. Sure, she has a beautiful voice and a natural gift for performing. She gets that from God. Sure, everything seems to come easy for her. But she still puts in the effort. She studied diligently to earn top marks, showed up to every practice, and rehearsed lines again and again to deliver a flawless performance. She did not get all that from me. I’m grateful for the teachers, coaches and ministry leaders who saw her potential and gave her opportunities to grow. She’s kindhearted, gentle, and has a heart to serve. That comes from Jesus. Her humility… that comes from me. But Isaac, I hope you’re bringing the common sense, because you’re going to need enough for both of you! And I’m sorry, but all the funny in our family went to the boys. When things were getting serious between Isaac and Caitlin, I knew the time was coming for him to ask me a very important question. I wondered what Fred would say. What words would he use to bless them? What exhortation or advice would he give? And at what point in their relationship would he have made a show of cleaning his service revolver? I couldn’t even pretend to imagine what he might say. His baby girl was only 15 when Jesus welcomed him home. But I knew he would approve. He would be so glad that he finally had somebody who would sit and watch sports with him! It’s not just that. Isaac is a young man of honor and integrity. He’s a hard worker. He’s a gentleman. He loves and seeks Jesus. He loves and cherishes our daughter. And he safeguards her heart. Caitlin and Isaac, you’ve both learned what committed love looks like in the face of adversity from watching your parents. For better. For worse. In sickness and in health. It doesn’t come from gifts or grand gestures or flowery words. It’s forged in the trenches of day to day life - seeking God together. Putting each other ahead of yourself. Being kind when you don’t feel like it. Giving the benefit of the doubt. Forgiving early and often. Making room for grace and growth. Committed love is not about getting it right all the time - we didn’t, and you won’t - but it’s about persevering and overcoming together. For those of us who follow Christ, there is no greater joy than to know your children walk in truth. Caitlin I’m so glad you chose Isaac. My blessing is multiplied knowing the two of you have chosen to walk in truth together as you walk side by side through life.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. If anyone is interested, here is my speech. The audio is not super clear. Let me know if you want me to share the text.(text added down thread) This was quite a challenge. My objectives were to bless Caitlin and Isaac, honor God, and remember Fred in a way that didn’t make everyone miserable. I ended up giving them some advice, too. I think I did a pretty decent job of bringing balance, I tried to follow up serious things with something funny. They seemed receptive and people laughed when they were supposed to, so 👍. youtu.be/1dKDCJT10kY

Beautiful bride! Gorgeous wedding. So happy for your family. Such a touching way to include Fred, I am sure he was watching from heaven! Thank you! Also she had these charms made on Etsy, she attached them to her bouquet. They are made from his handwriting. One day when she was about 10, she was mad at him about something. Nobody remembers why. This was not typical for him, but that day he gave her flowers and wrote her an apology note. That’s what this is from.

Congratulations! Enjoy it! Thank you. We LOVE the show Say Yes to the Dress, so I am excited to be going to Kleinfelds in October with her. Whether she gets her dress there or not, the experience will still be unforgettable. Congrats again That’s so cool! I just started watching recently. I hope you get to work with Randy. He seems to know just what the brides would like.

Thanks friends! One thing I forgot to mention… our photographer took pics of me helping her get dressed, then here let’s take a pic together… and she’s taking pics of Cait and I’m just standing off to the side and although I’ve seen her in the dress before, I had to ask for a minute. It was moving so fast.
I just had to absorb it all. I got tears in my eyes thinking of my baby girl playing dress up in her princess outfits.
Incidentally… can’t wait to see the photographer pics. Wife and husband team. They snapped all night long. I don’t think they missed a moment.

Congratulations to your daughter and her husband! She looked stunning, what a beautiful dress for a beautiful woman. You look amazing too. I can't believe how grown up your lovely family is. I love the table with the photos of Fred. So it looks like Logan is now the tallest in the family! Is he taller than Fred was too? Ohhh yes! He’s like ten feet tall. He loves being tall and it’s his favorite attribute. Jared hates it! LOL

Everything was perfect. She was an absolutely beautiful bride. Her new dh is a wonderful young man who treasures her. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a lot of fun. The only thing that would have made it better is if Fred was there. freebird check out the pic of the memory table. It was her idea to use the portrait you painted. Here’s some snapshots of our day. Linked from post images. [urlz=https://postimg.cc/1VVXpjPV] [/url] Thanks friends! It’s a shame she wasn’t able to give you the kind of support a parent should give their child, and I know you find solace in knowing you didn’t perpetuate that cycle. Her obit says it all. May she Rest In Peace. Well said. May you feel a weight lifted. Congratulations on the new grandbaby!

I hate to be debbie downer.. but you might think about if the smoke comes to the bay as they are predicting. think about alternatives? how bad does it have to be to do an alternative... they are saying the wind will shift from west to a north-to-south wind. it is hard to know if we will be affected. 😊 wrong thread?

Thank you we are very excited! And yes busy. My biggest responsibility at the moment is working on my speech. A little bit every day. I'm very happy for you! I'll bet the wedding will be awesome!!! Are you going to share what you're wearing? (I LOVE the threads with dresses and shoes!) Something FUN to think about during this horribly scary time of delta! Ahhh thanks! I’ll post with pics after the wedding!

So it’s been 8 hours! At least! 🤦🏻♀️ EIGHT hours so far ? I hope the triage nurse is checking his temps and oxygen sats...BUT, they're probably wayyy too busy. He is already VERY sick, and his knee is red and warm? He could have cellulitis, sepsis, etc. They probably don't even have a regular hospital bed for him *IF* he needs it for his knee. I hate thinking of them there in the ER this long. How much more stress can they take? 😔🙏

Definitely check the contract. My DD's wedding was 2 weeks ago. She is a server, so she is very good about tipping. She had tip envelopes for almost everyone (hair, makeup, decorator, DJ, shuttle driver, etc.). However, the venue included the gratuity for the meal and open bar, so we didn't provide an additional tip for them. ETA: I see you looked at the contract. I would contact the venue or caterer to make sure. It's almost always included. Enjoy the big day! It's exhausting, but so fun to celebrate your child finding their "person"! Thanks! Congratulations to dd.

Please do NOT apologize for ANYthing! No one expects IMMEDIATE replies! **ESPECIALLY** because your dd is getting married this weekend !!! (Congrats !) You must be incredibly busyyyyy ( AND excited, of course! ) You are such a dear, sweet friend to bergdorf and her hubby !!! (( hugs )) Ugh, I just HATE that they're having to wait in a scary, crowded ER when he may have a very serious infection. Yes she posted on FB an hour ago that they were still waiting! So it’s been 8 hours! At least! 🤦🏻♀️ Thank you we are very excited! And yes busy. My biggest responsibility at the moment is working on my speech. A little bit every day.
