I’ve been with toddlers on the lawn of general admission outdoor amphitheaters. It’s lovely.
But the SRO of a concert like that? Right up there where the concert is really loud? Even if they have ear protection, it can come off, babies are not that cooperative. And crowds are unpredictable and potentially scary. , I wouldn’t risk a baby in case of trampling, crush, or other uncontrolled behavior.

Have you seen the tour last/this year? Nick Cartell is singing JVJ and he is incredible!!! No, I haven't seen it in years, but have seen it 3 times, all in Toronto, twice with Michael Burgess and once with Colm Wilkinson. Even though I was very excited to see Wilkinson, Burgess is still my favourite. I met him once and he was a lovely man. I was so sad when he passed away in 2015. I would love to see it again! I have the CD (yes, I still have a CD player in my house! and also several of the tracks on my Spotify. Incredible music - never gets old and I never get tired of it. They are in Toronto!! Get tickets if you can! You won’t be sorry.

I think I am --- I've lived through more than most people (lived thru bad stuff) but it's wearing on me. Im tired of being tough. Yeah, that’s me. I’m just tired of it. I was tough as a child facing constant cardiac appointments , tests, and procedures. “Be brave! Don’t cry!” I was tough enduring physical abuse from my ignorant alcoholic Okie stepfather, whose answer to everything was to beat us with his belt. If my younger siblings got lively or made too much noise, he’d just line us all up and beat us all, even though I was always curled up in a corner reading a book. I was tough somehow enduring a 34 year abusive marriage. I did whatever I could to protect my children. But if I were really strong, I would have figured out a way to get away safely.

For me, I would have to choose a soundtrack rather than just one artist, and that soundtrack would be Les Misérables. Have you seen the tour last/this year? Nick Cartell is singing JVJ and he is incredible!!!

We’re are in Oregon. We drove out to one of my son’s favorite hunting spots, on a hill away from all lights and people. You could see the lights and colors and streaks and dancing movements with just your eyes. But when you took pictures with the phone camera, it was amazing the different vibrant colors it picked up. So much more than we could see. I, too, haven’t edited my photos in any way, the colors are already so intense.
I’m not set up to share any of my photos, but I’m sure enjoying everyone else’s.

O -
Congenital heart patient here. My heart and the type of blood that runs through it has always been a subject of interest as long as I can remember.
Both parents were RH neg, but when my mother remarried, after her first child with SD, she began to have trouble with RH incompatibility , and after my second half sibling, she only had miscarriages. This was in the 60’s, though, I know they do so much more to help now.

While I was surprised at first by this term, I really have no problem with it, as it’s a description of the situation, and causes my brain to slow down just that little bit contemplating the meaning. I don’t mind that, the subject is worthy.
I also have a somewhat quirky relationship with words, and new and different ways of using them can appeal to me, as long as it is accurate.
But I understand that some people find it annoying, because a lot of what I see passing for writing and grammar these days makes me crazy!

wow Even knowing what I know, and having experienced what I’ve experienced, seeing those three words together was a gut punch. Because they’re true, and that’s so wrong.

It’s the information. We as a people used to be exposed to a wide variety of information. We watched the news on TV. ( which was for the most part truthful ). We read paper newspapers. And magazines. Encyclopedias. Library books.
Most people were satisfied with just with the TV news, a newspaper subscription, and either their sports magazine , or a People. ( I remember when they first began publishing that BTW ). So the information was much more limited, and it was much more balanced.
Now, not only are people bombarded by nonstop info 24/7, but the infamous algorithms are doing their ever loving thing, which is figuring out which subjects and opinions engage us more, so they can feed us more of that.
So HOW could we be balanced as a society when we have devised for our commercial and entertainment purposes a system that makes sure the most important thing we receive—information—is utterly imbalanced?
We are like those people in a boat, who when someone says “whale!”, everybody rushes to that side of the boat causing it to capsize.
And I know a lot of people try to find ways to seek out opposing views on issues in order not to solely get info that is one sided. But I’m not convinced it’s all that possible to wade through the weeds of lies to even figure out what might actually be happening in the world. While I do trust certain reputable news sources, it’s when I’m hoping to get a well rounded “other side” view that I feel lost, not knowing who to trust.

14 or 15. No sure whether to count the Hollywood sign. I’ve seen it plenty. Especially while taking in a show at the Bowl, but also while driving around. But I’m not going to hike up to it or anything.

Worst: cleaning bars. The bathrooms. Nuff said. Best: Small candy store that made all our own candy from scratch.
I could be down with that for about a week. Then I’d have to quit because I think if I went home smelling like chocolate every day I would eventually get sick of the smell and that would just be wrong, LOL. After DH and I quit working at the pizza place, I think it took about a year before we could eat pizza and actually enjoy it again. Hahaha, my mom had little poodles and they would go nuts when I walked in because I reeked of chocolate! But it was better than when I worked at the Birds Eye broccoli processing plant the year before, coming home totally reeking of broccoli was nasty!

It was a union job for Birdsey putting broccoli in boxes to freeze it. The broccoli came down a long conveyer belt and you had to work very fast grabbing the spears and sticking them in the boxes that were racing fast around the belt with the goal of no broccoli or empty boxes at the end of the line. The managers would come around and stand behind and watch the new women, ( I was 16), and if you weren’t fast enough, you were fired.
I had to go to their nurse for anti nausea medicine because of all that movement going on in front of me, but I got used to it. Minimum wage was only 1.50, but this paid almost 3.00, plus there was often overtime. Unfortunately, it was only as long as the broccoli season lasted, then I was let go, and my next job, McDonald’s was minimum wage and short hours.

I know something about finding out the person you thought you could trust could instead destroy your life. And you did not see it.
it says everything about them, and the only thing it says about you is that you are a good, decent , trusting person.
Write down this new info, how you feel about it, (use all the words you need to, no one else will see this), and put the paper in an envelope or box. Anytime something concerning him is disturbing your peace, repeat this process. It does help, you can train your brain to leave it in the envelope.

I am so happy to hear of your daughter’s progress. I know how hard it is to see them struggle, and if you could take it from them upon yourself you would, but you can’t.
My own sweet girl is 40 now. Been through so much. I’m proud of how hard she’s fought, and I haven’t taken anything for granted. I wish your Chloe the very best.

Congratulations. This is bringing back my twin grandsons being born. Such an amazing time. They were 3 and 4 lbs at birth. DD and SIL lived with us, so I was part of the “team”caring for them, it was incredibly bonding. Those little babies turn 16 tomorrow.
I’m so happy for your family.

I’m 67, and I go to more concerts than I ever have. I just got back from a girls’ weekend where two friends and I flew from three different states to San Diego to see Sting and Billy Joel. Fabulous show, even though it rained. (I brought the clear ponchos). Billy is the man, we saw him at MSG in 2022 first show after the pandemic. This time he was even more amazing. And I was concerned about the sound at an outdoor stadium of that size, but it was excellent. Then we had fun exploring the city for three days.
Yes, nobody cares what an older woman like me is wearing, I go for comfort.
I have a full schedule of shows coming up all the way through this fall. Some small outdoor venues, a couple at bigger ones.
I do not have my own house, or a lot of the things I thought I’d have at this stage of my life, but I’m determined to enjoy the things I can, and live music with friends and family makes me happy.

I was so disappointed when he gave the chair back to keep the peace. Especially, if I remember correctly, because MIL didn’t even want it for herself, but to give to a brother in law who was making a fuss. As I not remembering right?

Wow. Hopefully, the judge will see that the only one for sure not at fault is the property owner. The nerve of the developer saying, “ the house ‘happens’ to be on your property. So we have to resolve this”. Happens , my eye! Parking in someone else’s spot is a mistake. Choosing to cheap out, or more likely, forego a surveyor because you want that prime lot is a decision.

That’s one of our favorite shows! We’ve watched every season. It’s something how you have favorite contestants almost right away. I’m always in awe of the skills some of the people have. Some of them, not so much. I was so annoyed at the guy who quit when he stupidly lost his fire starter, even though he had a healthy fire going at the time. He could have at least tried to keep it going. I was annoyed at the woman in Patagonia who had EVERYTHING and then just left because she felt she had nothing else to prove. That woman had a SAUNA made out of rocks and bones and moss and whatever else. She constantly caught fish and probably could have lived out there forever. I was amazed at her. And the guy from season two who had a kitchen, a chess set, furniture, you name it and went home because he missed his girlfriend. I like those kind of things much better than just watching someone outstarve everyone else. Grizzly Island wasn't that fun to watch because there just wasn't anything to eat there. Yes and no. I was disappointed, because I thought she’d win, and I wanted that. And it WAS a competition. But I also admired her spirit. Her values. It’s those ver attitudes of not caring, of not doing it just for the money, that made those people able to thrive like that. That’s why I like this show above the other survival type shows. I like seeing ingenuity, resourcefulness, plant knowledge, and willingness to eat more than a fish or a small animal. I like seeing them fashion shelters and utensils for living, and things that help them pass the time and use the materials at their disposal. The worst times people had to go home were the guy who smoked his fish and instead of eating it, rationed it out so slowly he got to thin and they sent him home. He was otherwise doing so great at everything else. His shelter was amazing. The other one, Carrie (?) I think her name was, she was so good, but same thing, got too thin. I hated to see her go, and then the second, they made her leave, that meant the last guy won 😠.
