So, she puts the skin tac on the adhesive part of the sensor and not on the skin?
Thank you so much!

I know I have read on here about a get peas who are Type 1 diabetics and use the Dexcom CGM.
I need advice on how to get the cgm to stay on. We can literally get 2 days out of them. We have the iv 3000s but they don't work on her skin.
Right now we clean with alcohol, allow to air dry. Use an IV prep wipe and allow to dry. Apply sensor.
What are we doing wrong?
Thanks!!!

OMG...Me.
I would have her being watched closely by her Doctors and have her blood levels checked. I had serious issues that resulted in many blood and iron transfsusions. They couldn't due a hysterectomy on my because I was on xarelto. Ended up having the arteries to my uterus embolized. I am still recovering and can not get my iron levels back to the normal range.
If she is really concerned, I wouldn't hesitate to go to the er to have my blood levels checked.
TMI...the clots are what scared me the most. They were described by the nurses at shift change as tennis ball size. They would come everytime I stood up. I was wearing depends in the hospital. UGH
Good luck!

We ended up at Ulta! The girls had a pleasant experience.
The stylist said they need to come every 3-4 weeks. Does that sound right?
Good thing summer is coming and they can get jobs!
Thanks again!

They are on spring break and want to have them done now so they can get used to them before they go back to school.

Seems a mom would know this, but I have never had it done before. Both of my daughters are wanting to do it.
Thanks!

give her supplies, Chocolate and favorite junk food and leave her alone. There are thing in life that does not need a party or a gift. This. I bought my daughter a plain Hershey bar and some chips. It was a bonding moment. Lol

Every situation is different, but my Mom had same symptoms as you and ended up with blood clot from the knee down to ankle that resulted in vascular surgery. She described as a bad charley horse that never went away. I would not hesitate to get to the ER. Hoping for the best! This is exactly how mine feels. If I stand it feels like I am going to fall from the pain. Hope your Mom is ok.

Update 2/13: Just getting home from the ER. Ughhhhhh
It is a DVT (blood clot). They started me on a six month treatment of Xarelto, and told me to follow up with my surgeon tomorrow.
I was in a bed in the hallway the whole time. Doctor may have dropped a F bomb when he saw how long everything was taking.
I am so nervous about all of this!
Thanks everyone for encouraging me to just go.
******************************************
Background: I had surgery on my knee last Wednesday (2/8). Simple procedure. Removed some loose bodies. Not much pain.
Fast forward to yesterday. I feel like I have a Charlie horse in my calf. Pain is sharp and throbbing, especially when I move my ankle or try to stand. There is no swelling or redness in the area that I can tell.
We are in the middle of a "blizzard", and my doctors are not in, called primary care and orthopedics. I'm assuming the er is open.
Have a follow up tomorrow at 10. I want to wait it out, but DH wants to go to er.
Has anyone had any experience with this?
Sorry it got so long.
Thanks
