I don't have any info on it, but I had to "hide" one of my FB friends because she posted about that stuff 3x a day. It was seriously annoying!

I don't have an answer but wanted to give you something to think about. Our neighbors at the lake have a metal roof and when it warms up we can hear popping sounds from it when we are on our deck. I would hate to live there full time and have to hear it.

I think it is irresponsible of the media to speculate with no facts. So dangerous. Tired of it. Normally, I agree with this. The media is obnoxious in their misreporting of information and deeming it as fact before it has been confirmed. In this case, though they are reporting that the plane went down, and that the Ukraine government says it was shot down. They reported it as being shot down because that is what the government said happened. The only speculation I've heard so far is who may be responsible for it.

I can't answer your questions, but I wanted to pass along my thoughts and prayers for a positive outcome. Twelve years ago my mother was diagnosed with a very early breast cancer (the Dr. called it "barely a stage 1") and she underwent a lumpectomy and radiation. To date, she is still doing well with no recurrence (knock wood).

Sounds good. I'm not liking pork too much right now, but brining and grilling sounds good. Can you share the recipe, please?

Me, too. I think foy-eh sounds pretentious. It sounds French. Since when is proper pronunciation pretentious? When you're in the Detroit area and nobody speaks like that except the richy-rich members of the community

Yes, calling the police was the right thing to do. Let them decide if CPS needs to be involved. The sentence that I bolded above is where I disagree. So if it was a medical emergency -- something that has never happened before -- you think CPS should get involved? That is over the top IMO. Some women pass out when they are pregnant. You would call CPS and say what? The mom is pregnant, better take the kids in case she passes out again? The kids were ultimately not left in her care - her husband was home. CPS should have been called. You can only go by what you KNOW. You know that a woman is passed out on the sidewalk, and she left 2 kids in the car... One not even in a diaper. It's up to CPS to try to figure the rest out. If there's nothing wrong in that household, the investigation will be dropped. It's way better to act and nothing be wrong than it not act and something be terribly wrong. Tell me where the neglect is. I just don't see it. She had the kids strapped in their car seats and stepped out to get the mail from the mailbox. She didn't leave them in the car to run into a store. And I don't think that not having a diaper on a baby is a crime, either.

Sorry - I agree if it were a medical condition, that would a different story and likely unpreventable, but the OP indicated the Husband of the passed out woman was hungover/maybe still drunk from the night before. In that case, I think the police should most definitely open a CPS investigation on the family. She did not indicate that the husband was hungover or drunk from the night before. What she said was he appeared unsteady. Gee, if I got a call that my DH passed out on the street, I think the shock and worry might make ME a little unsteady -- and FTR, I drink maybe twice a year and never to the point that I'm hungover.

If the OP was given an owner occupied refi and it is in their paperwork that they must reside in the home for x amount of days (or a similar restriction) then I wonder if the loan officer or the bank can come back to the OP for breach of contract or damages (loss of commission). I would thoroughly read the loan paperwork and possibly consult with an attorney on this one.

Wow! You definitely did the right thing by calling the police. I would think they would have to report to CPS. You can't just leave your kids in a car and pass out on someone's lawn and have anyone think it's ok for the kids to be in your care. Scary. Yes, calling the police was the right thing to do. Let them decide if CPS needs to be involved. The sentence that I bolded above is where I disagree. What are the covenants for if big exceptions like this are going to be made? I agree. I would pose my objection to it in that manner. I would be leery of setting a precedent for additional exceptions.

I went to a restaurant a few years ago with my kids. This elderly gentleman came up to the table and handed a $2 bill to each of my kids. When he left, the waitress said that the guy is very wealthy and sits in that restaurant every week handing out $2 bills to each child he sees.

I'm about to start on my desk and the mountain of paper on my dining room table. School stuff, medical stuff, financial stuff. I'm not looking forward to this, but I know I'll feel loads better when it's done. Anyone else doing some unpleasant or tedious chore today? Tell me I'm not alone. I'm doing the same chore today. My DH hates to throw anything away, so I am scanning a whole bunch of files and shredding the papers.

I think it should be on the family to pay for the handler. I have a few thoughts on why.
I would think there is a huge liability aspect of having a staff member handle the dog. I know service dogs are trained, but even the best trained dog is still an animal with animal instincts. If a staff member is handling the dog and it bites someone, that staff member would be considered negligent and the school could be liable.
Also, I would think it would be better to have a smaller circle of people handling the dog. If the school provides a handler this year, there is no guarantee that it will be the same person the following year, or the year after that - there's no guarantee that the handler will even remain with him the entire school year. If the family provides the handler, I would think there is a higher likelihood that person will remain with them. I guess what I'm trying to say is is it confusing for the dog to have multiple people giving commands?

Here's my mortifyingly embarrassing moment . . .
I was 17 and attending my cousin's wedding. A guy that I liked came after dinner to hang out with me. Time to catch the bouquet. I strut onto the dance floor in my very cute strapless gown. You see where this is going? I jumped up, and the dress didn't. I tried to pull it up in mid-air and fell onto a table near the dance floor where an old man was sitting. He was laughing so hard he was crying!
I know that I've done some other embarrassing things, but this is the only one I can think of at the moment.

I cannot stand when people review an item before they actually use it. "I just ordered this! It looks great. It is easy to use. I can't wait to get mine." Um, isn't the point of a review to actually, ya know, review the product after you've tried it?

I'm sorry but I think it is ridiculous for you to get upset about this. If your DH isn't complaining to you about it and you trust them both, then what is the big deal? If today's situation did not bother your husband and did not take him away from family time, then I fail to see where the problem is.

Rotisserie chickens from the grocery store. Definitely agree with this one! At least a couple of times a month we get a rotisserie chicken and either eat it or cut it up and use it in recipes. It is a real time saver.

And please, for the love of King Arthur Flour, put a clickable link in the title of your email notification. And also, if you don't have a "print this recipe" option, you do not deserve to have a food blog. I agree. And when you put the print option on your blog, please, please, please give the option to print without pictures. I hate to waste all that extra ink on a recipe I'm not sure I will like.
