I've got to say, I am really surprised none of the kits have sold out yet.I wonder if this is a wake up call for Ali? Everytime I look at the kits I just keep thinking that I cannot relate to the themes/color schemes of the kits. I feel the same way about the kits. The only one that does anything for me is Paislee Press, and even then... just not anything that dazzles me.

There's some older Maggie Holmes embellies on peachycheap.com today! Thought it might help someone here! wow, those went away fast! The deal now is some glitter tags. Thanks for the heads up - wish I had caught it sooner!

I like the idea of a stamp sub, but not for that price. Maybe if it were $14.99. And I do have concerns that there will no longer be stamps in the other kits. oh they would do this. Just like how the kit workshop subs pretty much ate away at the CT gallery.

Unsolicited suggestion here: my friend has a passion planner that is really durable (don't think it's sharpie proof, but there's no bleed with regular gel ink pens and highlighters) and it is formatted like the gtwb, but far, far less expensive, and I think, better. Give it a quick gander at passionplanner.com - they even have downloadable samples you can print out and trial run.

That is FALSE. I did not mention this place. I was simply discussing something amongst friends. I didn't realize I was being stalked but I should have. I just marathon read this thread and only had one question about this: if your comment was not made in reference to the gals here at 2peas, then to what were you referring? That makes a world of difference, IMO.

Can I still use the $5 code from SC for August's kit, or did I wait too long to cancel without a penalty?

I also loved it. I thought it was so charming and beautiful. My boyfriend, on the other hand, did not enjoy it. He is a poop.

Yeah, I might have to bite and try the $5 sub. It's really cute this month. It's the cutest I've seen in a while.

When companies (mainly SC) pull the shit they do, it makes me not WANT to scrapbook. Which means I'm not giving anyone any of my money. SC has completely turned me off from wanting to create anything. THIS!!!! This this this.

I wil be honest, I was debating on getting the Daily Sayings Silk Screens. But I talked myself out of them. Here's why: besides Ali being in cahoots with SC (which you all know I hate), I've reached a point that I am no longer interested in what Ali is selling. Everything she does is for a class. Pay x amount and I will teach you how to do this. Buy this kit and pay me money to inspire you to document your day. Everything with her is a money grab these days. I get it. I do. She is a business. But I am not willing to buy the inspiration. I am tired of being nickeled and dimed. I used to be able to go to Ali's blog and see layouts, stories about her family, etc. Not anymore. Now every post is about what she can sell me. No thanks. I dont mind her selling. But instead of feeling like I am going to a friends blog, I feel the grab on my wallet. I feel the same way about SC. Its no longer about inspiring the general masses to document their world. Its about whatever project she is working on/selling in that particular season. I am just over it. This is where I am too. I've tried doing the daily December album thing with and without the kits. Each year ali's kits get that bit more commercial. In reality my December's are all pretty similar and I could combine any pages from one December with pages from another and it would look like *december*. I mentioned this to a friend that does Shimelle's journal your Christmas. And she remarked she preferred the concept of JYC more AND that you didn't have to pay and pay again once you had taken one class. unlike ali's OLW classes each year. So I think that's where I'm going this year. JYC is actually something I've been wanting to try out for the past couple years. I might do it with you! Last Christmas I was just so burned out on the SC drama that it's pretty much turned me off to scrapbooking, and honestly, I don't remember if I've even scrapped anything in 2016 (I'm sure I have). I'm kind of starting to get itchy now that I've been away from it for so long, and Lord knows I have enough supplies to pick it right back up. But I'm dreaming of a December Daily since I didn't do one in 2015 and have regrets about that.

You know how we say that we want sc to go back to what it was before. I was thinking that maybe it's more that sc has stayed the same but we have moved on? . Many companies are offering the same or similar product. We've probably learnt most of the techniques going. A lot of the old design team is now with other companies or have left scrapbooking. We've just outgrown them? hmmm. Good point. One of my favorite periods of SC was when embossing was huge over there. Its actually where I learned to emboss. I remember feeling so excited to learn something new and SC had the colors of powder in stock. I would order 3 new colors a month, until I had them all. I haven't actually learned anything technique wise in quiet a bit from SC. Aww, yeah, back in the KP era when the stamps were PERFECTION every month, the kits had a lot more variety and content, and not everything was the same old recycled SC design.

With a little investment up front, you can have a variety of asterisk shapes! This die cuts a bunch of them, and you can use whatever material you want. You can pick up transparencies at your office supply store. You might get creative and print out any digital papers and punch those out! Um, that's amazing and you are so clever. I love that die! The only thing is from the photos, the smaller asterisks with the squared edges look a little wonky. I don't love that cartoon-y illustrated look. I don't know if it's the die itself or the photos that make it look like that. Do you have this die? I don't have that die. I couldn't really tell you tbh.

Someone asked about the design contest winner. Remember that gimmick? I though to myself, "aww, isn't it cute of you to think that SC follows through on anything they say!"
Remember the kit naming contest?

Send them a poorly cut piece of wall art on tissue-thin paper that says GOOD ENOUGH hand-lettered (poorly) in sharpie.

I did the survey not expecting any results to come of my feedback. I took it because of the off-chance that they might WANT to make changes and make it an enjoyable place again. I'm pessimistic, but if they want the feedback, I'll give it. The fact is, I really loved old SC, and if there's any ghost chance that they can make it more welcoming, then it's worth the two minutes it took to fill out their survey.

I contacted SC about my birthday boxes. They resolved to send me two supplemental $50 boxes. I accepted that offer, but instead of sending it to the shipping address where the order originated from (my mom's house, she was the one who ordered me the two warehouse boxes for my bday) they are sending it to the address I have on file for my account, which would be great if I still lived there. But since they cancelled my sub unbeknownst to me, and I haven't re-subbed since, I never bothered to update my address. The SECOND I got the email stating that they would send the boxes out, I convo'ed them back to warn them that the address they were about to use was no good. It's been over 24 hours and they have not replied to me. Lo and behold, today I get the shipping confirmation with my old address still on there, and all of this could have been averted if they weren't being such crackheads about their customer service regarding this stupid sale. And if I get a box and it's nothing but duplicates... well, it won't surprise me. I'll be really disappointed in them. But that has been par for the course.

I'm certainly thinking about my 2015 DD. My Christmas planner for 2016, that's another thing. I've begun to set it up and start planning. Here's the cover page. WOW! That's gorgeous!

I'd would take the same action that you would take had you purchased it yourself. Happy Birthday! I would definitely contact SC about it. Was it shipped directly to you? Do you know what type of boxes they bought and if it was $50 or 100? Sounds like you may have gotten a "mixed" box. Let SC know it was from them and give their name/address and give as many details as possible. Also, it doesn't hurt to give them an offer of what you want to make it right - a supplemental box, gift card, % coupon, whatever. That seems to make the resolution go faster. I certainly would not tell your parents, though. I don't think they'd want to know that what they thought was a special, thoughtful gift, was a dud and brought you frustration. Good luck! Thanks! It was shipped to my mom at her house, she said they were the $50 dollar boxes, I didn't know they offered a mixed box. I will reach out to SC to see what they will do. I didn't tell my folks; thankfully I knew what it was when I saw the SC masking tape on the box, so I knew to feign excitement about the contents. They wouldn't have sucked so bad if they actually included anything to SCRAPBOOK WITH, instead of just a hodge podge of crap.

So yesterday was my birthday. My folks, sweetest folks a girl could ever have, were super thoughtful and remembered how much I loved studio calico, so they bought me a couple warehouse boxes. Guess who has a box full of absurd amounts of duplicate holiday cards, seriously like 50 of the same flair badges, currents cards, a damn wink wink stationary kit (in a scrapbook warehouse box?), a stack of green month tabs, and the like. What would you do?

Somehow, my SB subscription and reward status doesn't exist anymore. Seriously. And I was waiting to join the mass exodus tomorrow if this warehouse mess wasn't resolved properly. I'm not upset, just confused. I've been with SC since 2012, and all-of-a-sudden I'm out? I haven't received an email, I just happened to check my account. I did start a convo, but I'm pretty sure they're a little too busy to answer. So.....does anyone have a recommendation for a monthly SB kit club? I've been considering Felicity Jane or Hip Kit Club. Yeah, more or less this same thing happened to me. I didn't bother starting a conversation.

That's just crazy. I'm so angry for you. What about the promise that Rob repeatedly made about people not being able to financially fulfill their subs and he said that they absolutely would accommodate people. And then after he quit, others reassured people the same thing. Typical SC talking out of their asses to do whatever they can for money. This proves, once again, that money is the bottom line for Studio Calico. So much for April's "sincere" letters. So yeah, I actually think it's pretty shitty of them. I've been an SC subber for, oh, 4 years now, have had multiple subs since the PL inception, subbed to the sister brands, and have forked over THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of dollars. Then, for whatever arbitrary reason they decided, they just.. nothing me. They nothing'ed me. Instead of -- God forbid -- REACHING OUT to their customer and actually having to PERFORM customer service, they nothing'ed me. And it is going to cost them my would-have-been dollars. Because after all my financial woes shake out, I would have resubscribed, and bought store merch, and binge shopped like a fo-mofo. Momma is jonesing for some new scrappy toys! So they lost a LOT of potential sales by nothing-ing me.

Did they send you the product that you ended up having to pay for? Yes, I ended up with all of the kits, minus the "pick your product" things like a paint sample, or a stamp, or whatever it was for those months. I didn't start a conversation or pick a fight over it because I was just kind of done with it all and knew the conversation would just frustrate me even more.

That's ridiculous - I can't believe they never bothered to contact you. I was miffed about it. I've been a subber for about 4 years and have never quit or lapsed, I have only once had a problem with an order (years ago, which was UPS's fault), and I generally keep my mouth shut about their shitty business practices because I kept my freaking sub and didn't want to be a hypocrite. Well, it finally bit me in the ass. It's all for the best, though. I am glad they did for me what I didn't want to do for myself, and I haven't had to worry about it since. Most of 2016 has been SC free, and I'm honestly the much better for it. Every month when they show off their newest kit, I'm glad I don't have to waste my money.
