Coffee! While everyone has been stocking up on canned food, TP, etc. I've been picking up two huge bags of my new favorite coffee at Sams.

I bought a ton of candy thinking I might do an egg hunt for my boys, even though they are 12 & 14...sigh...can't find the eggs. So I just dumped most of the candy in their baskets. However, as I'm typing I'm hearing thunder, so it's all good!

If it's a good crust (either crispy or very flavorful) I'll eat it. If I'm at a pizza buffet I usually skip the crusts so I can fill up on other goodies.

This will be our first Easter weekend that we'll be home for both Saturday and Sunday. The weather's also supposed to be bad so I'm up for an online crop!

Triangles only because the only pizza I want cut into squares is Valentinos pizza from Nebraska...and now I want Valentinos which makes me sad because we can't travel to NE to see family this Easter weekend (or pick up Runza or Amigos...but mostly I'm sad because we can't see family...and I'm hungry...)

I went to the store today & it wasn't too bad. It was odd because of what they were out of, mostly in the refrigerated section--no biscuits, cresents, or anything Pillsbury makes (or store brand either) and the ice cream section was pretty picked over too. They had lots of meats, flour, fruits, veggies, bread, canned items, etc. I was excited to see that the one-way aisles matched up with my usual route thru the store!

It's...going. My 6th grader in a private school has been doing distance learning for almost 3 weeks now. It sucked the first 2 weeks, mostly because of his ADHD and because I'm still working a couple of days a week. This week has been a little better because they redid the schedule so I happen to be home for a few more of his classes. They must also have decided to pay for Zoom because the class times are longer--half of the class times during the first two weeks were wasted while the teacher waited for kids to get on or with kids doing things they shouldn't be doing. Along with the new schedule the teachers sent out a list of rules to help keep things on track (sit at a table or desk, no phones, head and shoulders must be in the shot, etc.). DS doesn't get much work done if I'm not sitting there, keeping him on track. He's trying, but it's hard. It was also hard because he didn't want to do the work at first (especially since big brother was doing nothing school related). One of his teachers has struggled with the technical aspects of online learning, but she is trying her best and learning as they go. The kids already had Chromebooks and everyone was using Google Classrooms so it was an easier transition to distance learning than some of the public schools. The school hasn't said if they are just going to finish the year online or not so we we're just going with the flow...
My older son (9th grade and in a large metro school district) is finally going to officially start distance learning on the 20th. His district has already announced they are finishing the year online, I think because it is a monumental task to get the 30K kids ready for it that if they were going to do any online stuff it would need to be an all or nothing decision (no waiting for the governor to extend the April 30th closures or cancel for the year). His teachers have all been in contact and most are already offering optional things for them to do. I think it's going to be interesting to see how it all goes down because this district does not do a lot online under normal circumstances...so ask me again in a couple of weeks!!!

The boys & I will watch our church service online at home while DH is up at church playing drums. I looked into getting an Easter dinner from a restaurant, but nothing sounded great that wasn't either out of the way or more food than 4 of us would need. I might get candy to put in eggs for the boys to look for (even though they are 12 & 14) but now there's a high chance of rain...but mostly I'm going to miss getting together with family...

Someone should do a Pacific NW "beach" line - grey, rocky coastlines, people in sweaters and boots, pine trees, clouds, wind and rain... Sort of like HS Wolf Pack but at the coast. A lot of us could use that. No, sorry. "We're scrapbook manufacturers and we only understand one way to do 'beach' (or 'girl', or 'home', or....)" And it had better be the "Best Day Ever" and coordinate with PINK, Pink, and what other color...oh, PINK! That's all we know and are allowed to do, so you scrappers need to make sure your life and photos coordinate with us...

It's stuffing day! I decided to roast the turkey that DH gets as a Christmas bonus every year, instead of letting it sit in the freezer until a month or two before he gets the next one. My issue is usually having fridge space to thaw it, but then I realized I could use a fridge up at the church where I now work because otherwise the fridge isn't getting used for much right now.
I like turkey, but really it's just a cooking vessel for the stuffing that my family has been making for decades...so I'm calling today Stuffing Day!

Hopefully the typo is corrected on the stamp. Nope. Got my stamp set in the mail today and the stamp is spelled wrong too. I started a conversation to see what SC's plan is to fix it...mostly as a joke because I have a feeling nothing will be done...

I was at Sams today and they had some flour back in stock (rice too). I picked up a 25lb bag of bread flour for DH for only twice the price of the 5lb bags I usually buy for him at the grocery store.

My store has banned reusable bags, but I love the option to bring them and bag my own groceries (stop grabbing my bread around the middle! stop putting one item in each plastic bag...except for the bag with 2 bottles of juice and a large bottle of oil!!!)
Last week my store at least had paper bags--the week before they were out. I made sure to say please fill them up, don't do one per bag again.

Here in Iowa there's no eating in a restaurants, no gatherings over 10 people (i.e. churches, funerals, weddings, etc), emergency surgeries only, dental offices are closed except for emergencies, barber shops and salons are closed, floral shops, playgrounds closed etc. by order of the governor. Even without a shelter in place order there are a lot of places that have chosen to close if it wasn't ordered (music stores, libraries, malls, the zoo, kids places).

DH has always made bread, cinnamon rolls, and pizza crust whenever he has time. So naturally when all of this went south he let me know that he almost out of yeast and could I pick some up at the store...nope, nothing there! He went to 3 or 4 stores after work and finally found some. I saw a jar last week so I went ahead and picked up that one too (although I might have to look into bigger sizes when this is over, never thought to look beyond the jar on the shelf). He's still going into work so of course he hasn't had much time to bake...

We usually go out of state to see family, but even if 2 of 3 parent sets hadn't already cancelled we probably still wouldn't go. I'm not sure what we'll do for a meal. I have a ham in the freezer, but I might look at some other ideas.

I finally checked my yellow album and it's ok...for now. Last year's WITL album was ok at first too, but came off at some point once I had pages in. Forgot I wasn't going to buy another one this year...
I'll most likely sign up for the new Hybrid class. I didn't learn a ton of new stuff in the first on, but what I did learn was worth the price.

I think it's a coffee shop, part of the Corinthos business? It used to be run by Morgan and/or Christina.
And yes, the Quartermaine mansion renovations have been surprising...front door, stairway, all moved around!

I was surprised to see my shipping notice...at 2am!
If you had told me the names of the two extra kits this month I would have said just send me the baseball kit now and don't bother with the one that sounds like it's for little boys because my boys are 12 & 14 and one plays a lot of baseball. However, when I looked at the kits I ended up ordering the little boys one and skipping the baseball one! I did get some of the baseball extras, but I didn't care for most of the kit (still don't like the vintage stuff) and I really don't want the PL cards with their round corners.

I too love the new Food stamp! I checked out the new stamps when I saw the email (about 20 minutes after release) and refreshed my screen as soon as I saw it and the fact that it was "check back soon" status. Luckily one fell out of someone's cart and I was able to add it to mine right away.
I also plan our vacation activities around local food options!

Right now all I have is a chocolate bunny for each of my sons. I like to do baskets, but it usually involves mindless wandering around a store for ideas which I don't want to do these days. Might end up with some XBox gift cards...although I can hear them arguing over their game right now...so maybe not...

My oldest son did a little when he was 8-9 years old, especially in the summer. He made (or at least started) a couple of albums about vacations and local events.

My gym is doing some something, either prorating the monthly payments or extending the time between payments, but I can't remember because it only affects my son's membership of $10/mo (mine is free because I work PT in the kids club).
I would try to keep paying a fee if at all feasible if I really didn't want the business to fold. DH is very afraid for our Little League because he thinks it will fold if there's no season and people want their money back (he's on the board so he knows what's going on behind the scenes).

The Bible Camp my boys have gone to and that our church supports has said they are still proceeding as if there will be camp this summer. Some of that is because it's stuff that has to be done any way. I think it will depend on whether or not schools go longer than expected (if they do get to go back at all) unless of course all gatherings are still prohibited/discouraged. In theory they could push back their dates, but that would depend on the volunteers that work each week, if they can change their schedule too.

No. Around the time I started hearing about the rush on TP I realized that we were down to 2 extra rolls so I bought a pack at Sams...haven't gotten into the Sams package yet. However, I am the only female in a house of four people, DH is still working full-time, and I'm working 2.5 days a week, so we don't go through a lot anyway.

Most of the schools around here (central Iowa) were just starting to go on Spring Break when the nationwide cancellations started happening. During the SB week the governor declared that schools should be closed until at least April 13th. Districts are looking into online learning options/possibilities, but I still don't see how it would work for my oldest son's huge, diverse, and economically challenged district. Just today one of his teachers sent an email out saying they are looking at where grades are at (for at least high school classes) and what work needs to be done to successfully complete the semester...
My youngest son's private school is already doing online learning...and I really hope they get to go back to school because it's not good for him (shy, quiet, and ADD makes for minimal learning on Zoom, plus he claims he's reading his textbooks, but either he really isn't or he isn't retaining anything). He is great about getting on his laptop and doing the Zoom sessions and some of the homework, but it's also hard when big brother is not having to do any work (even though we are trying to find him some things).
Schools are scheduled to end around Memorial Day and if there's no further closures they can still do that (missed days up to April 13th have been excused by the government). But if there are extensions then I don't know what will happen to my older son's end date.
