This LO is for the Wacky Holiday challenge - Gravy Day Dec 21st. The photos are from the Making Gravy concert by one of my favourite singer / songwriters, Paul Kelly. He does a concert in December every year. I have been a fan of his since the 80s, and he has developed somewhat of a cult following from DD and her generation. It was so cool that we got to go to a concert together! One of his most famous and popular songs is a song called 'How To Make Gravy', which he wrote for a Christmas compilation album. It's about about a guy who is in prison and won't be home for Christmas. The opening lines are: "Hello Dan, it's Joe here, I hope you're keeping well It's the 21st of December, and now they're ringing the last bell."So now the 21st of December is known as "Gravy Day" in Australia! I thought this LO was going to be an easy one because I was using a template, but it took me a surprisingly long time. I used the 'A Fresh Start' kit by Kimeric Kreations, and a "Double It Up - Blocked 5" template by Cindy Schneider.

angel97701 I'm sorry you are going through a very tough time right now, I've experienced some of the same things with my son. I have to be in the right state of mind to scrapbook pages. Sometimes to distract myself I'll do something crafty not related to people. Something like making a mini album with favorite quotes or simply making a list of movies, books, or TV shows I want to see. Just writing down words on paper to clear out my mind a little. I hope the wrapping and cooking were a good distraction for you. AussieMeg praise left for you in the gallery teacherlisa such a cute kid! I love a simple page design! The black is a nice touch.

I haven't shared lately any of my work. Mostly because many are from kits, but also because there are so many and I just don't have the energy to take pics and post them! But I'll share my last page of the year. I decided to finally pull out my mixed media stash and use it. I remember now why I don't use it often...it takes so much more time! I usually can knock out 2-3 pages during nap time, but I only barely got this one done today! And that's with the older boys playing video games and therefore not interrupting like normal. It's still not completely done...needs to dry more and I feel like it needs something more. Maybe a little red bird in a tree? or something in the corner by the shorter hill? I'm not sure...suggestions? Untitled by Boy Mom, on Flickr

AussieMeg I love your Wacky holiday pages! They are always so much fun! I think I'm going to be intentional to do those this next year...both celebrating them with my kids and scrapping them. teacherlisa I love the clean look of that page. The pictures stand out angel97701 I'm so sorry to hear the struggles. Hugs Happy New Year to all!
