Welcome to December! I hope in all the flurry of Christmas prep we can take some time to PLAY! Even if time is limited, we know creative people will be creative. Challenges are dropping into this month’s thread, and not all of them are for creating pages and cards! When you DO create something, decorate something, we hope you will share what you have done. And don’t forget to share the love! I am am looking forward to being inspired by your creations here and by your photos in sleepingbooty’s awesome Photo challenge!

I got the tree and a couple of other spots decorated, opened the first dozen or so Christmas cards I'd received from lovely Pea friends, watched the first couple of JYC videos, and put all my cardstock sheets and scraps and my papers into new organizing folders (a picture and some details in the organizing thread).
Considering I also had to do post-vacation laundry (shortened though it was), a bit of cleaning and tidying of non-crafty stuff, mail drop off and pick up, and had to take care of safely disposing of/donating all my deceased relative's toiletries and medicines, including a large bag of diabetic supplies I'm hoping my Type 1 friend can use, I think I did well.
I'm feeling reasonably accomplished today. Hoping I can make a start on Journaling my Christmas tonight (literally just journaling) and then tomorrow I can move onto Christmas cards. I just realized i never had a chance to research how to tweak my ScanNCut design to conserve paper so I had better do that tonight. Wish me luck!

I got this in the mail with a thirty one gifts order and immediately thought how fun this would be to make with scraps.

This LO was most specifically for the Donna challenge, my “out with the old, in with the new”, and grammadee challenge to do a LO about someone you love, and add hearts. Now- assembled today. Then- This one, I believe, was assembled in 2007. Oops! Sorry, nylene !

What a lovely page KikiPea, a wonderful tribute to your grandma. I particularly love the gold flower (wire?) embellishments.

How are you doing with JYC, joblackford? I have produced ZERO cards or pages so far this month. But I do have most of my gift wrapping done. Should take a pic of the stacks of gifts for one of the challenges, and the piles of paper for one of the photo prompts. Heading into town today for errands, the post office to pick up a parcel (hoping for the Simon Says Gnome kit), last minute gift purchases for what needs to be out of here by Monday, and to get the full meal deal on my hair. Tomorrow I need to put together a couple of bd cards and a Christmas card. Thanks for snapping a pic of that card, myboysnme . Yes, that definitely could be fun to duplicate! I love working with the negatives of my diecuts. It feeds my compulsion to never throw anything away. But of course now I want to find the die that cuts that cool tree (Since acquiring absolutely EVERYTHING is another of my compulsions : A beautiful tribute page, KikiPea ! Love all the vintage looking elements. And I love how while you have added depth and texture over the years, your original classical page design remains the base of it all. BTW, the "Scrap someone you love" challenge was nylene 's,

KikiPea That photo is beautiful! I love the vibrant colors and of course the well placed embellishments. I love the 2007 page. It really makes the photo stand out and I'll always be a fan of mini alphas!

I’m still working on my slimline Christmas cards using a Lori Whitlock cut file. It’s a bit of a slow process for me, but the cards look pretty cool. I keep forgetting to take a photo when the sun is up. I’ve listened to about 5 hours of my audiobook while I work too. Multitasking. Maybe that’s why I’m not working as fast as I’d like. I haven’t done anything crafty for JYC this year. I’m thinking that I might make something in January or July. This season is just too busy and if anything I’d like to take some time to use up some inventory and put some of my cards on clearance. Gotta remember to enjoy the season first and document it later! But I am keeping my digital journal and enjoying Shimelle’s content. My next task is to tackle my nephew’s photo book, which was delayed after his grandma passed away unexpectedly - his mama didn’t have the time or energy to share the photos, understandably. I shared a bunch of digital pages I made at the last minute at the end of November as we were coming home but I haven’t had time to work on any pages since we got back. I’ll try to get a nicer photo of the cards I’m making tomorrow but here’s what I can show you for now. http://instagram.com/p/B5vNoaFAE2K

myboysnme, that card would be fun to lift and I think I have a similar cut file. But if not it would be easy to make. KikiPea, beautiful layout! Fab clusters. refugeepea, I love that Simple Stories line!!! Love all of your pages! That photo of how your son fell asleep is awesome. joblackford, I already liked your cards on IG, but they are gorgeous.

refugeepea, your pages are really fun. Love all the cute animals and other seasonal icons. Kudo's on getting the older photos onto pages! joblackford, those cards are stunning! The blues and greys are awesome backgrounds with the white trees. I have a similar die set and now I want to pull it out. I have pic's of a couple of open box style cards to share. Hope to do that tomorrow. Should also snap pics of the piles of gifts I wrapped this week before they get shunted off to their various destinations Monday/Tuesday.

Two cards so far this month. I need to remember to get that shot I promised of those wrapped gifts before they go into the vehicle. robot box card by Gramma Dee, on Flickr gnome greeting by Gramma Dee, on Flickr As you can see I DID manage to get a gnome on a card. But this one was a little more work than the SSS one: had to be backed with pp scraps and then fussy cut.

gramma your gift baskets are freakin adorable! I also like the senior night cheer layout, such fun memories she will cherish! How funny about sister time lol... grammadee I love your cards- how intricate! joblackford I love the birch tree cards-very stunning refugeepea I love the fall pocket page layouts. I always love fall products, but live in AZ and we really do not have fall like a lot of places. Fall layouts always catch my eye! KikiPea I love both layouts for the now/then challenge. The layers are very nice in both.

Yay, I'm finally off the mark for December! Thank goodness for sketches. This is my LO for Sketchy Saturday December 7th. I used the 'A Thousand Years' kit by Becca Bonneville Designs. The photo is of me and my son at The Pancake Parlour, and the title comes from their slogan "Mmm Lovely!"

grammadee is there a point calculation thread this month? Am I missing it or are we doing something different? Thanks! I didn’t start one because we don’t have teams, and we are just keeping track of our own points. But I could get one going. What do you think?
