It seems so many people eat salad. Every where you look people are eating away on their salads. Do that many people actually like them or is it just the right "thing" to eat. I have tried and tried but I do not like them plus they frequently give me a wicked stomach ache.
Am I weird?

I generally like a salad someone else made much more than one that I made. Weird.

I don't eat a lot of salad. Only when it is a social "must". Raw vegs tend to give me gas which isn't so socially acceptable

I don't like the effect lettuce has on my stomach, that's for sure. I do like a side salad, or a chef or anti-pasta salad, but I couldn't eat just a bowl of veggies and lettuce and feel full all afternoon

I am not a fan of lettuce in general. A leaf on a hamburger I can deal with, but if I go to a salad bar or make my own, I load it with everything else...and 2 or 3 bite sized pieces of lettuce.

Everyone I know loves salad. I love my veggies (more than fruit to be honest) so salads are great. The only salads I really don't like are ones made with iceberg lettuce (which is a complete waste of space). Spinach? Kale? Anything like that? Totally love it. And the more veggies in the salad the better.

It's one of my favorite things to eat - but if it is main meal I like it wth black beans or grilled salmon, avocado, quinoa etc. a lot if other food just feels too heavy - pastas, bread based foods etc

I can generally take it or leave it. I don't think I have ever had a salad I could describe as yummy but the crunch and freshness of an interesting salad is nice sometimes.

Any salad that doesn't have iceberg lettuce in it. Iceberg lettuce is the polyester of the lettuce world.
Plus it is really bad for your digestion. Really bad

I love salad but since having bariatric surgery don't eat too many of them. I need to focus on protein. So if I make a big salad I get too full and then don't eat enough protein. I will make a tiny one and top it with lots of chicken, cheese etc.

I love salads with lots of things in them - nuts, fruit, herbs, grains & proteins - as well as vegetables and lightly tossed with sort of vinegrette. The only lettuce I really like is a crunchy, fresh Romaine and I love cabbage, arugula, spinach and kale and many salads without any leafy greens in them (Greek, broccoli, slaws, quinoa, cold grilled vegetables, green papaya).

I love salads. Had a great one yesterday at my favourite restaurant for lunch. Rocket lettuce with tomatoes, pickled red onion, goat cheese and a lemon caper dressing, served with panko-crusted chicken breast. So good! As someone else said, salads are always better when someone else makes them.

Over the past year, I've made myself "like" salads. Well not so much like, but eat them. Mine must have really good croutons and preferably bacon!

I'm a salad fan. And I even like iceberg lettuce. Not all by itself, but I like it mixed with Romaine and Spinach. I am not a fan of dressing, and I always get strange looks when I order my salad without dressing. I have friends who say they only eat salad for the dressing!

I like the salads I make but rarely any that are served in restaurants or that someone else prepares.
I like a mixture of lettuce. Iceberg, spinach, green leaf and romaine. Then I'll add tomatoes, cucumbers, croutons, sunflower seeds, maybe a tiny bit of cheese and a meat that I have on hand. I like turkey the best but ham and chicken are good too.

I don't dislike salads, however I tend to get burnt out on them fairly quickly. I like eating raw veggies as a snack (separately or with a dip), I think it's the lettuce I tire of more anything.

I always say that salad is just a vessel for dressing. Not a big fan, so I eat them because it's the right thing to do.

I'm not wild about salads but the ones with the various greens really are better to me. Maybe it's all in my head. I do like to put a little cheese, maybe hard boiled egg, and bacon bits or chicken or something in them. Plus more dressing than I should probably have.

I like salad okay but I don't love it. If I have one for lunch, I am totally uninterested in having another one at dinner time. Mostly I'd rather serve cooked vegetables, anyway. Usually when I make a salad at home, I combine romaine and spinach. I'm not a fan of baby greens or whatever those weedy mixes are called. But I don't think iceberg is a waste of space. It adds a wonderful crunch to salads (and sandwiches) that no other lettuce or other green provides. Plus fiber (?? I suppose) and volume. I don't use it often but I don't mind it at all. Better iceberg than those damn field greens.

I really do like iceberg but had to stop using it because it is just so bad for me , it is like eating cement. If you have digestive problems after eating a salad with iceberg lettuce , it is mostly likely the iceberg causing it.

I do not like salads and rarely eat one. I never liked salads and disliked them more when I went to pick a rogue black olive out of the lettuce and it moves, as in a small beetle. Eew....gross. My son saw me eat a salad recently that was brought out with my meal and he was shocked. I only made it a few bites in.
My daughter's boyfriend loves salad and could eat huge bowls of lettuce. I think I saw his nose twitching like a bunny recently. My daughter now eats a salad frequently, more than before. I think she still prefers munching on raw veggies but... salad is ok in her book. My younger son would rather eat dog kibble than a salad.

I love salads, but the dressing must be good. I make my own dressings at home.
I seldom order them as an entree though, because they are usually so huge I can't eat it all and the one thing that is not appealing as a leftover is a soggy salad.
I do like to go to the supermarket by my house and make my own size from the salad bar...I love just some romaine with some bacon bits and a few crunchies dressed in simple oil and red wine vinegar.

I like a good salad sometimes. But generally more as a side dish/appetizer. I can't eat them for a meal too often, usually only in the summer. Even with chicken I just don't find them all that filling. And count me as one who enjoys a mix of Iceburg and Romaine or Spinach. I like the crunch of Iceburg and I also hate the weedy greens.
I used to enjoy salad much more often back in the day when I was young and skinny and could put lots or Ranch and cheese on top and not gain five pounds just looking at it lol.

I'm not crazy about salad but will eat one. When I do I eat the lettuce and pick at the other stuff. That said, we have a chain restaurant here called Zaxbys and they serve a seasonal oriental salad called the Zensation Salad that is to die for. I'm pretty sure it's the dressing and spring roll that comes with it that makes it so good...and of course their signature chicken. ?

Salad is simply a vehicle to get salad dressing to one's mouth in a socially acceptable manner.

I love salads. Asian style salads with crunchy chow mein noodles and shredded carrots, chopped salads and caeser salads are my favorite. I eat a salad most nights with dinner. My salad dressing collection is a source of pride .
