kellyr21 , those Christmas ideas reminded me of when we hosted Christmas every year. I started taking the kids portraits off the wall and would wrap them in Christmas paper and hang them back up. Like this (not mine) but this is how we did it. Sorry the photo is so big. Your poor DH. I hope he feels better soon and finally kicks these germs to the curb.
Linda, glad your dh is feeling better. I hope you have a great time this weekend and find something interesting.
kitbop, yay for crafty time! Is your DH home from his trip?
nylene, that's horrible! Do all large, noisy crowded events affect you like that? Can you do high school events? I usually only watch the half-time show of the superbowl for the commercials but have even given that up in the last few years.
I'm hoping DH will get to see the nurse at the office today. He told me he was coughing a little bit of blood on Tuesday (right before leaving for Cleveland) and said he'd go see the nurse if he still was when he got back. He said Friday since Thursday was busy. I said no, Thursday. Well, then he didn't go and didn't say anything else so I assumed it stopped. Told me this morning he still was. If he can't get into the nurse today, I'll make him go to the walk-in clinic. I know that is one sign of bronchitis or pneumonia.
Off to get something done. I did laundry all day yesterday and still have about 3 loads left. Then I'd really like to get to all this germy bedding we've got.

LisaDV - prayers for your DH - I hope he follows through. That's how I knew my DH was really sick - he didnt' argue about going to Urgent Care.

kellyr21 - cool ideas for Christmas! Prayers for your DH to feel better and not share. kitbop - hope you were able to scrap with those glorious hours without responsibilies! nylene - I don't deal with loud crowds either. I'll have to look up your Christmas tree song. I've rearranged stuff in the living room and found places for the coffee table and side tables - they need a little TLC but they are gorgeous mid-century modern Danish teak - and I feel like a grownup having living room tables finally. Also rearranged stuff in the dining room to fit the teak sideboard - it's 80" long with sliding doors - I love it! (and I now have a place for the Wedgewood Edme dishes I inherited as well). 9 boxes unpacked so far - 21 to go. One more box of books - several of dishes/kitchen stuff - but mostly photos/papers/slides... Hoping to get through the rest of the dishes boxes today. I have a photo scanner arriving today, 6 more project boxes arriving tomorrow, and I'll be ordering a slide scanner next week (the one from mum's house is just too old for my computer). DD13 has been a champ about making up school work - she ended up missing 6 days instead of our planned 4 - she's come home from school about 415 and worked on school work until dinner (730) and then some more afterwards before bed. Hopefully after Sunday she'll be caught back up.

He just texted that the nurse can see him this afternoon. He’s actually feeling better in general, especially during the first part of the day, but still wears down. He has a history of secondary respiratory issues when he gets sick and is usually very good about taking the initiative to seek medical treatment.

Well, Hi Pokeys. I'm back & I have MISSED you. Life got really busy for us midsummer. As many of you may know, I was adopted as an infant & just found my "birth family" on my Dad's side about 2 years ago. Well, my brother got in touch with me & was willing to fly out from Philadelphia to meet us along with his daughter. So, we needed to fluff the place up & make plans for them. We had an awesome time & I took tons of pictures, but they are not in LO's yet. Then after he left we busied ourselves getting ready for our #1 bucket list item- a trip to Italy for almost a whole month. It was glorious! Then we came home & it was right into Holiday Mode- with 13 grandkids & 3 greats, we were busy!
i really have missed crafting & sharing life with you all. I will try to take some time to catch up with what all has been going on with you all. xoxoxo
