So fun to see this thread pop back up again! I have done really well in keeping up in both project life & my traditional layouts (which is what I posted about back when this thread started).
I typically create two weekly 12x12 albums for the year. The first one for 2020 is 100% complete. The second album I have completed through mid-August, so I'm only about a month behind which is perfect for me. I also was still finishing up 2019 when I first posted on this thread and that one is also completed AND entirely photographed + posted on my instagram, plus a final album flip through on my IGTV.

I’m complete for PL 2020 Jan-July I’m mostly enjoying it. I need to print August photos & get to work.
Going backwards I completed 2019 July - December and that’s 100% complete & on the LR shelf. Jan & Feb 2019 are also done. Pics thru June are printed and waiting for me to get in gear. April & May will include quite a few full scrapbook pages as opposed to PL though.
My goal is to be finished with both years by the end of the year & maybe just need to finish up Dec 2020 in January after it’s all printed. So far I seem to be on schedule.
I do not think I’ll go back prior to 2019 though. Prior to that I’ll just scrap randomly whatever pictures call to me or Won’t scrap it. 🤷♀️

I’m caught up on printing photos through August. I need to go back and embellish some cards/pages. Sometimes I really motivated and complete the month and other times I’m just not feeling it.
I also have catch up to do from previous years. Not sure how I want to complete those. I may shrink to smaller albums and just see how much I can fill up. Lord knows I have plenty of cards to use!!

I'm so glad I found this thread! I opened up the Becky Higgins thread thinking it would be about project life, and, oh my!!! I do digital project life and love it. I'm about ready to print my 2019 album and believe it or not, I don't feel like I'm too far behind. (I'm usually about two years' behind). I do a two page spread for every month and then at the end of the book, I usually do several pages covering trips and big events like graduations. 2019 was a banner year for travel and big events for us, so my project life album is going to be unusually thick this year. I'm hoping to finish my album this weekend so I can upload it for printing at Shutterfly. They are running a special for Labor Day-no charge for extra pages. My problem is that when I'm ready to upload my album, instead of just quickly proofreading my journaling to make sure I don't have any grammatical mistakes, I end up totally rewriting things and moving pictures around. I never fell like it's really done and ready to be uploaded.

I’m up to date through August for 2020!
I started 2019 in January of this year and I’m 90% done! Need to tie up December, and that’s about it! I’m so pleased about this, feeling very accomplished!

This is a good time for a check-in. I'm up to mid-June but seem to keep falling further behind in my 2020 album. I'm missing most of last fall for 2019 but have some photos printed. I'm hoping to do some on my 2020 album tomorrow since I'm off for Labor Day. I start back to the office next week, but I'm hoping that will help me get back into more of a routine and I can find my groove again. What I've been terrible about this year is taking notes. I think it's just been too depressing for the most part so I've avoided it but now of course I wish I had. So, going forward I'm going to attempt to do a better job.

I am caught up through July. But I always run one month behind, so I am not worried. I plan on printing a bunch out this week so I can get back to scrapping on the weekend.

I use the Day One app to write my daily PL notes, and it's so convenient - I just type in a few things here and there throughout the day, while I'm in line somewhere or taking a break at work or waiting for my coffee to pour, etc. I used to jot some daily notes into a Leuchtturm notebook every evening, but I often missed a day or more if I was feeling lazy or even if I just put my notebook out of sight (I need to see things to remember, lol), and it was inconvenient to bring it with me everywhere during the day. Plus now, I can copy and paste from the app onto my Word document to print my journalling for PL.

I like the way you keep it easy.

I’m doing relatively well in keeping up with my 2020 album, I’m about to finish August pages and start on September. I was hoping to have made more progress on my 2019 album, I quit in Feb. 2019 when we started a major remodel and I couldn’t get to my craft space. But I have lots of 2019 pics printed and finished March pages. I’ll get there eventually.

I still haven’t started 2020. I’m usually current at this point. I can’t find any mojo.

I'm starting my 2020 PL in July. I have all the photos ready to be printed but haven't uploaded because I'm still trying to decide if I should do 12x12 or 9x12. What format are you all doing?

What format are you all doing? I'm doing 12x12, pairing a pocket page with a full 12x12 layout every week.

When I used to scrapbook last time around years ago, I would never have done that. When I restarted 2 years ago I just threw caution to the wind and do whatever I want to do and put it in the binder. LOL it first started when I wanted space in my planner and I just inserted another page and I was like oh that was easy. 😁 I watched a lot of YouTube where people did that to get to that point, but it’s so freeing.

Best decision I ever made!

I recently purchased a 6x8 album and am weirdly scared to use it, hahaha. I just don't know how since I've basically exclusively done 12x12! I love when I see other people's projects but I'm not brave enough to step out just yet, haha. I'll get there!

For 2020 I’m doing 9x12. Album and page protectors from SC. (Come on Scrapbook.com I need more options!)
I think for the years I’m going to go back and complete, I’m going to use 6x8 since I have less photos and journaling. I need to find a come online inspiration for them.

One disadvantage of doing digital PL is that all the pages have to be the same size. I keep getting tempted to go back to physical project life, but my organizational skills, at least when it comes to scrapbooking, are terrible. I always have a mess spread out and can never find what I need.

I should probably learn a few things and do more hybrid.

We’re visiting my MIL for a week this month. There will be nothing to do there while we’re social distancing. I had pics printed for JAN-Aug. I think I’m gonna treat it like a retreat, bring my basics and get 2020 in pockets. I can fill in the empty spots when I get home. mostly I feel overwhelmed with trying to figure out how to document COVID. I need to let go of the idea I’m doing it cute like a lot of examples I see online with a separate booklet, etc.

I need to let go of the idea I’m doing it cute like a lot of examples I see online with a separate booklet, etc. If it's any consolation, the separate mini albums, TNs and other smaller projects for the pandemic were created mostly by people trying to compartmentalise these extraordinary times as they were unfolding. I know that's what happened to me and my separate pandemic mini albums. It was in real time documenting of something really difficult to get a grasp of while knowing that it was terrible, global and this immense unknown we were being thrown into.

And it's honestly not that cute or special, just a coping mechanism if we're honest...

I need to let go of the idea I’m doing it cute like a lot of examples I see online with a separate booklet, etc. Mine is mixed in with my everyday photos. I'm actually kind of glad I did it this way as I can see how some weeks it's been a bigger part of my life, like going back into lockdown, or how it's affected the birthday celebrations etc. That said I'm coping fine with the changes it has brought so it doesn't bother me to see that in my album, while that may not be the best way for anyone else.
