Hello, Peas! Another Tuesday, another card challenge!
If you were in the Christmas Card swap, you may have gotten a lovely card like this one from our own lisacharlotte (yes, I asked if I could post this ).
When I opened it, I knew I wanted to keep it around for inspiration later. What I specifically like about this card is how it uses THREE different patterned papers, and uses them WELL. I have so much patterned paper but I'm not really good at combining it in balanced ways by myself. One card I like for using patterned papers is called a Joy Fold card, but I sometimes get tired of those, so I was excited to see a new combination!
Your challenge for today: Use at least THREE patterned papers on your card/layout! Use whatever proportions work for you, and feel free to use more than three, but there must be at least three distinct patterns visible.
If you are participating in the team challenges (or if you just feel like an extra challenge), you can add in ONE of these twists (or both if you want, but you only get the five points once).
TWIST #1: Use lisacharlotte's card as a sketch, and make a card or layout from that. I made this card:
TWIST OPTION #2: Sometimes paper pads/collections have that one paper that is a whole scene all by itself, and you're like "How am I supposed to use this? Can't cut it down, can't put photos over it... what is this even for?" Turns out, this is a good sketch for using some of that paper. Find one of those whole-image sheets of paper and use that on your project somehow! Like this:
Finally, I have an RAK prize package for someone who attempts this challenge and posts their project in this thread (or the one I'm going to post on the challenge board). Wanna see what you're playing for?
Oh, sorry, the photo's huge and if I leave to resize I might not make it back, so here's a link instead. There's a pack of PTI classic kraft cardstock, which is my favorite kraft. A stamp set from Neat & Tangled. A pack of moonshine sequins-- they're basically clear and will go with almost everything. A roll of silver tape from CTMH for when you want to add a foiled element but without figuring out what laminator to buy. And one of the blending brushes from the Dollar Tree that are all the rage right now. (And yes, I absolutely will send it internationally.)
Please complete and post your entry by Saturday, March 8, which is the same deadline for the 29-4-29 challenges to be completed.
Have fun! (Will post on the regular challenge thread shortly; my computer is old and the battery is shot and needs a break to cool down.)
