Just wondering about the exposure people face.

I have to go out into stores and touch items, but don't really interact with people other than signing in at customer service, unless a shopper asks me a question that I never know the answer to anyway!

I’m very fortunate in that I don’t work so I can really limit my exposure that way. But DH is an occupational therapist in a skilled nursing facility so he has prolonged contact with them all day, every day. Living with him is like living with a child in daycare. If it’s going around, you can bet he’ll bring it home to me. Our bigger concern though, is what he might expose the residents to. So we’re pretty much sticking to home. That’s okay, lots to do here. I do wonder if there will be a lot of babies born starting 10 months from now.

My job doesn't require me to come into contact with the public, but my 54 minute train ride every morning and every night sure does! Luckily we are allowed to work from home one or two days a week, and we have the capability to work from home every day if the need arises.
DD is a physio, so she is coming into direct touching contact with the public all day. DSO works three days a week at a school, so lots of contact, and the other two or three days mainly by himself.

If you count the public between ages 7 and 10, I sure do.

At one job I have direct patient contact and at my other I (usually) don’t, but I am an essential worker there. If my department is not staffed and functioning no surgeries get done - emergency or elective.

I work for a collision center. While I am not in contact with our customers I do walk around.
When a customer drops off their vehicle we are now wiping it down before we get in and move it. I'm constantly cleaning door handles and counter tops.

Yes, I am the Communication and Connections Coordinator at our church. I work with a lot of church members and visitors each week. During the week, I am in my office so that's mostly just staff but Sunday's it's a whole bunch of people.

My boss only sees patients in my office 3 half days a week. I'm there 2 and half days a week. We don't get a lot of people in the office. And usually not very many at a time, and almost never young people. And I don't have to touch or be close to the people. So I feel fairly safe. Although, almost all of our patients are elderly, so they could stop leaving their house out of fear. It could get very, very quiet at work.

I work in a small office. We have about 20 people who work IN the building and everyone has their own office. We don't have very many people come in each day so thankfully we're not as exposed as most.

Yup, GPs' receptionist. 2 hours at a time per shift on the front desk. But it would rarely be longer than 15 minutes at closer than 2m which is the advisory. And anyone suspicious ought to be phoning in rather than attending. But as from today they're stopping testing in the UK outside hospitals, so goodness knows what will happen now, with all these people who don't read the large notices on the door, and decide that they might as well attend their review despite their cough and fever because they're not feeling too bad, and haven't been with anyone who has been to China lately.

I work from home doing the books for our company. I often don't leave the house for days, especially in the winter. Which is from mid-October to mid-April.

Social services here. In a government building full of varying other social service agencies that deal with populations that typically have little to no access to health care. So yes, on the daily I deal with people who have difficulty with hygiene issues to begin with. I figure they are going to have to do something with us. We are not essential services, so closing my office would be okay. But it is government so the financial implications to the state would be enormous and likely to not happen. But they should consider it. It’s here in Florida and very near me.

I work from home doing the books for our company. I often don't leave the house for days, especially in the winter. Which is from mid-October to mid-April. This is me too. Many days the only person I see outside of my immediate family is the bus driver who picks up my kid at the end of our driveway, and he’s more than 12 feet away from me, inside the bus. DH sees clients in their homes, up to 4-5 a day, but he also goes to gas stations, supply warehouses, etc. almost daily where he comes into contact with multiple other people. And my kid goes to school in an open concept school that utilizes open classrooms and flex spaces. There are about 100-120 kids in her “house” alone, and the school can accommodate 800-975 kids. That’s a lot of runny noses.

I'm a social worker and have to make home visits to my clients. Our visits are mandated by our contract with the state Dept of health and human services. We hopefully will be getting more info tomorrow on what we will be doing.

I usually have 80-160 students plus a ton of meetings out in the community, but we’re doing everything online now, so I was not sure what box to check.

I don't but DH is currently working on a construction site with 2000 filthy construction workers that use their hand as a hankie or just blow snot on the ground. DD is a hostess/server/buser. They both have asthma, so I'm a little worried.

I work in a school, so yes. Our district in Colorado Springs just sent out messages to parents that the entire county is closing. I think you still have a chance. This morning they were not thinking they would. Lots changing quickly.

I work in an elementary school, and in a hospital. So yeah...germs. We have stringent precautions at the hospital, and I have a mask that was fitted to my face, so I'm probably safer there than when I'm subbing. I was entertaining myself with visions of me wearing my hospital mask to sub in 1st grade tomorrow. hahahaha (no, I wouldn't do it, it was just a funny thought.. )
