I was originally going to do a color challenge and ask you to use the following image as your inspiration: This is a set of magnets on my filing cabinet (which is part of my desk) at work (focus is a little more green than the yellow it's appearing as). I am constantly knocking them off with my knee and picking them up, so they're always moving around, and I often think, "gosh that's a nice color combo" as I put three back on at a time. You can definitely use my image if you want to, but I'm going to change up the original plan a bit for our current situation. Your challenge: find something in your home or office (while you're still allowed in) that you love, and use it to inspire your color palette. It is not necessary for you to take a picture of your inspiration piece unless you want to-- but please do share what item you're using. Some suggestions: your shower curtain, a kitchen towel (or fancy decorative not for hands towel), a makeup bag, the bedspread, your favorite shirt, the cat-- whatever. I was especially drawn to adventue/inspire/hello future combo (the orangey coral and two blues) and struck the jackpot as I went through my patterned paper stacks. I found a great paper to use as background and made this card: Sorry, it's a little dark, I'll try to edit and replace in a bit, but I promise the colors really go nicely with my magnets-- I think it actually kind of covers all six. It's one of my favorite cards I've ever made. (And I wish I could take credit for the layout, but it's based on a card in the current CTMH March-April catalog.) Have fun!

Love your colour combo and your card is beautiful. Thanks for the challenge, Eddie-n-Harley. I need to make a sympathy card . I think this challenge will help me. Not sure whether to start with my Sb pp (smarter) then find a household item that matches, or do this the “right” way.

Cute card! Your background paper is subtle, but lovely. And it’s a great message for the sentiment.

I didn't take the colour pallette from my home, but rather from my scrappy supplies (which, I guess, are IN my home... ). I found the little colour strip in a HS baby PL kit I had pulled down recently to get some use on non baby projects. It was not hard to find cards and bits and pieces in my stash to go with it, b/c these are some of my favourite colours. Grabbed them up and put together this card for a friend: Hello by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Thanks for the challenge!

grammadee, I'm sorry for not getting back in here sooner. (That was the week that my office sent everyone to work from home, so there was a tiny bit of chaos.) Love the color combo (and how handy of them to give you a paint strip!) and that's a great use for project life cards!

Cool challenge! Cards based on my fave mug, colors remind me of the sea.

Pretty cards, @kendramage . And awesome way to display them. Love the different ways you used that colour. Just the hint on the jar edge with the b&w flowers is really striking. Don’t think I could have had the restraint to leave it like this, but ii LOVE it!

Don’t think I could have had the restraint to leave it like this It was hard, lol! I am generally a "more is more" kind of cardmaker, but these colors were so soft and quiet that I just decided to leave it alone. Plus I thought if I left them more plain, they would be better for a somber occasion. Not that I hope I have many of those cards to send out... grammadee I love the way you used the PL cards in your card, and configured it. That is a very cool card and I bet your friend really loved it! @eddie-n-Harley, I love the little critter on your card, and that flower paper is lovely. Cute card!
