While stuck at home for the foreseeable future, I am finally getting around to going through all my clothing and coming up with a huge donation pile. I’ll wait until after the pandemic to actually donate them. Just bagging them up now and putting them out of the way. This purge is way overdue. It sad that it took a pandemic for me to find the time to do this!

I’m still working from home (for now) but on the weekend I did a number of kitchen cupboards and some organizing a huge pile of paperwork into shred, recycle, file. I will continue on with a small project each day.

Yes.
I cleaned out my closet and got it ready for Spring (but I also ordered some shirts online so that probably negates any progress there). I have been working for over a week in my scrapbook room & am almost done. Id like to repaint and do a whole makeover but it wont be happening now.

I made big progress on the office and have a ton of paper that my daughter can shred when she’s about to die of boredom. I may get around to alphabetizing the library. I took all the dust jackets off (cuz aesthetics!) and now it’s really hard to find anything. Need to deep clean the laundry room as well. Good times!

i'm trying.. motivation is hard... Yes me too, not much motivation. And I was just saying a couple months ago if only I have week or two off to declutter. I feel frozen with stress. I just want to sit on the sofa and pea and surf around. Sigh. I need to shake this off and get some stuff done.

I'm the opposite. I feel like I'm getting nothing done, with the kids home and all. This. The mornings are spent on school stuff and the rest of the day is following the kids around making sure they are picking up after themselves and swatting them away from the pantry. There are drink straw wrappers EVERYWHERE. Threw them out the house today just to get laundry done and just noticed they've taken toys from the garage and they are spread all over the backyard. So I am constantly cleaning and cooking but very little to show for it. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Yes! Getting a lot done! Cleaned most of my windows, scrubbed my icky shower and I'm painting our bathroom. We remodeled our bath in 2005 in a Tuscan style which was "so in" at the time... Had the deep color faux painted walls. We have our toilet in a separate room than the tub, sinks, etc so it is much smaller. Also painting the woodwork. Had to clean, sand, and clean the woodwork again, plus dust the walls (litter box is in there). Did one coat, should hopefully finish up the small room tomorrow then mover onto the big room. I'll try to post a before and after-ish if I can. I'm on a roll getting things done in the past week or so. ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200322/017c80a30eda8ba11e5a1d9fe5b051ff.jpg) Before pic, after will be next.

We are putting our house on the market in May (I wonder what that will even look like). We have white, six paneled doors and trim throughout our entire house and I have a gallon of trim paint. So far I’ve done the backs and fronts of seven doors and all the door frames, plus one window frame (two coats each). I love bright white doors and trim. I don’t think we notice how tired that paint can become after a while. I’ve also painted a hallway and the ceiling in the hallway. My house looks so fresh and clean. And, bonus, since we’re stuck inside for the near future, I get to enjoy it before we sell it.

I painted one of the bathrooms yesterday and put it back together today (and cleaned the entire bathroom). I have a few other painting projects planned and am trying to do the things that I always think about when there is no time to do them. I also cleaned the light fixtures on the upper level today.

i'm trying.. motivation is hard... ![:yeahthat:](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/yrGoHMAelQz8f2Qt0sjb.jpg) I'm was home a lot before but this situation gives me little motivation to do anything. and I didn't have a ton to begin with. I'm working on that. Making to do lists for both me and DS, I think. Keep us in check. Too easy to "why bother" things. Daily, weekly and projects lists might help. Tasks. At least DS will have classed back online in a couple weeks. Easy to get stagnate when you can't even leave home.

I was just clearing out a bunch of clothes because they are too big now, as I have lost weight. All this sedentary stress eating though... I am rethinking that I should get rid of them! I have rearranged my furniture to make more open space to exercise and play in our house. We are in a 1200 sq foot condo, so tight quarters, and I need to maximize ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/OrTI4SBmZ2ZYSFv6ag4f.jpg)

Yes, I've attacked several cabinets. Just did my bathroom cabinet today. Trying to do at least one declutter/purge per day. I'm a SAHM of older elementary kids. My days were normally filled with my dance classes, kids sports, volunteering, board mtgs, etc. All of that is cancelled so I have the time to actually focus on my neglected house. Mornings are filled with helping the kids with school but afternoons are pretty open. #onlytookapandemic

Yes, I’m digging in and purging in every room. So far the only problem is I keep bouncing from project to project and every room is in shambles. Luckily we are going anywhere and no one is coming over so no big deal.
I have found things I’ve been looking for and found things I forgot I had. Kinda fun.

I'mtaking a break from deep cleaning the kitchen as those darn family members started wandering in to get lunch. DS & I swapped Expedits (his bedroom/my office) last week and have both been purging/reorganizing and building the donation pile. Lots of yard work is also getting done here.

Um, no. Want to but it's impossible with everyone home. They either need something or interrupt me or are creating a larger mess than the one I'm trying to tackle. It's a losing battle.

I've defrosted & reorganized the chest freezer and then reorganized the pantry, but that's about it so far. I'm trying to get my scrapbooking supplies unpacked and put away after a crop, so that usually requires some sort of reorganizing...which is why I'm still working on it despite getting home a week ago. Definitely need to work on the kitchen and boys' rooms, but I'm also lacking motivation.

Yes. After being home for a week I started today. I cleaned my kitchen aid. It is 23 years old and needed a deep cleaning. I took to it with a tiny bristle brush and scrubbed years of grossness out of every crevice. I then moved onto my toaster. I wiped down all my kitchen cabinets and base boards and then tackled my stove. It feels good!!! I rotated all my bottle waters so that the use first is actually in the front and did the same for my pantry. I was up super early! It really. made me feel like life was normal. Cleaning calms me!
CleaningStill to do: fridge baseboards throughout the house hall closet my craft closet--- that should be fun garage- IT is not too bad but I don't look forward to it
Painting- Both bathrooms. I bought the paint over winter break and never got to it touch up the outside where they installed our video doorbell. We just had the outside of our house painted and there are a few spots to fix

It's hard with all 5 of us at home! What gets cleaned is messy the next day. But I could always deep clean and not worry about the house being "tidy". I figure I could even spend a week on a room, and really get it done!
The problem is, even if I can get the kids to declutter, Goodwill is closed. So I hope they don't change their minds! I have no idea where I will put the donate bags.

Yes. Each day I've picked a different thing to go through. There is NOTHING that makes DH happier than throwing something out or taking it to Goodwill. It drives me crazy for several reasons:
1. It doesn't matter if I just went through stuff. Every single time there's a break, he wants me to go through again. So I just went through all my clothes in December, but now I'm supposed to do it for spring break. Then he'd want it done again in the summer, then fall. I don't have that much stuff that I have tons to get rid of every 3 months! And in the summer, he'll point out that I haven't worn a sweater or a jacket in a while. No kidding, it's over 100 degrees out! It's like he forgets that seasons are a thing.
2. If I do go through things and he's home, he will "supervise" with suggestions about what I need to do next. If I'm cleaning out the pantry, I should definitely do the closet. And if I do the closet, the office needs to be cleared out. If I do the office, I should really be cleaning the bathroom cupboards. It's never enough that I do a little at a time, I should really do EVERYTHING at once.
3. Once I do go through things, he wants to offer input - I didn't pick enough and really should get rid of this shirt, or those pants, or whatever. He may have no idea what it is - it could be something useful that he doesn't use, but someone else does - he thinks it should go because it's not necessary to HIM.
He does the same thing to the kids. So I have told him - I will absolutely NOT go through things when he's home, EVER. He goes on a long bicycle ride most mornings, so that's when I go through things. And I'm not interested in his input. Once I go through it, I'm done. He can keep his opinions to himself, or I will simply not go through things at all. I've got lots of other things I can do to keep myself busy; he can either accept my rules or deal with me keeping things.
