I’d wager your government isn’t a munted shitshow. I wouldn’t be too sure of that! I had to Goggle what munted meant! To be fair, I think we in the U.K. are doing as well as we can in this dire situation. Hindsight and politician bashing for lack of this and no supplies of that isn’t going to get us through. We have scientists and clinicians who join in with the daily briefings and I find what they have to say reassuring in that they seem to be saying honestly what’s going on and how it should be dealt with and what we can expect. I think we all know the worst is yet to come here.

In an odd sort of way I find that more reassuring - I think most people can deal with things far easier if they know the facts IMO No, they're not perfect, but we're in unprecedented times. They can't action everything overnight it's impossible.I think it's surprised quite a few people how well they've dealt with it, both from the medical side and the financial assistance they've put in place, by their actions. We'll just have to ride it out together. The level of community spirit is wonderful to see.

I have decided I hope Trump gets it, soon, and it is a serious case. Because I truly don’t think anything else will get through to many of his supporters and we, as a nation, need the large majority of our population to buy in to and participate in social distancing to lessen the impact as much as possible. And if, as a bonus, the administration finally starts making a real, concerted effort to streamline and speed up the procurement of medical supplies to the states that’d be great.

"The bill for MAGA has come due, Trump supporters. It’s time to pay up. The deferred invoice for you selling your souls is here. It’s time to pay for every incendiary campaign boast you cheered, every factless diatribe you vigorously applauded, every nonsensical middle-of-the-night tweet you boosted, every dehumanizing stereotype and slur you shared, every callous and cruel rally insult you passionately amen-ed. Its time to pay for every denial of Scientific evidence, every terminated qualified conscientious objector, every attack on factual, responsible journalism, every vicious assault on objective reality, every star-spangled dog-and-pony show distraction, every lazy xenophobic caricature, every tired racist tirade. This is how your beloved capitalism works isn’t it: someone was always going to pay for services rendered? Nothing is free, isn’t that what you’ve been saying—no handouts? Well, dig deep friend because you are on the hook for this Many people have been footing the bill for a long time: migrants and Muslims and transgender people, young black men, refugees, the sick and the poor, already vulnerable communities pushed all the way to the brink—and now past it. You were paying too of course, you were just too willfully ignorant or intellectually negligent to realize it. Over and over we tried to tell you about the cost: the civil rights you were sacrificing too, the environmental protections you were losing as well as we were, the safety and security you were relinquishing alongside us. We tried to tell you that this hardship was not a partisan expense, that his moral bankruptcy would eventually hit you hard too.
But your Fox News bubble and your white Evangelical echo chamber and your America First, Don’t Tread on Me, middle-finger affinity clubs left you certain you were insulated from it all; that the only tears that would fall would be liberal ones, that the only people suffering voted for Hillary, that all of the pain would be isolated to people who vote Blue. ...." johnpavlovitz.com/2020/03/12/the-bill-for-maga-is-due/

trump...
”Just spoke to my friend MBS (Crown Prince) of Saudi Arabia, who spoke with President Putin of Russia, & I expect & hope that they will be cutting back approximately 10 Million Barrels, and maybe substantially more which, if it happens, will be GREAT for the oil & gas industry!”
But dimwit it will cause the price of gas to raise in the middle of a pandemic which has caused millions of Americans to lose their jobs which means they can’t afford to pay higher gas prices.

This was my response
”Certainly will be good (Great) news for all those that will now have to pay higher prices at the pump in this time of extremely high unemployment. Another example of #MAGA ”
to this trump tweet..
”Could be as high as 15 Million Barrels. Good (GREAT) news for everyone!”
But being the wimp I can be I didn’t tweet it.

You *JUST NOW* found that out? Where did all of US learn it from, then?!? We can all predict the future, I guess? I think the sign-language interpreter should have used the universal sign for 'crazy' (circling finger next to your head) and pointed at him, at some point during that statement.

I don't think he's survive it if he did. His breathing at times is very unnatural and laboured. You can hear it often, especially when the mic is close to him when he's speaking. He reminds me very much of how a Great Uncle of mine used to have to breath in a deep and steady manner to control his COPD.

Just his needing a ventilator and a long, long recovery. Because I really don’t believe anything else will get through to them and they’re putting everyone’s lives in danger. eta: That’s a good point and I’m not wishing death upon the poor excuse of a man.

one of the comments under the Tweet from the idiot GA governor says something I've long wondered about:
"But we should not let them try to use the 'Gol, I'm a Dumbfuck' excuse, because in itself that should disqualify them. Why it does not, when it gets you fired in most other jobs that DON'T have responsibility for human lives, baffles me. Republicans use it a LOT."
I have always wondered about this very same thing! 'gee, I didn't know' is an awfully lame excuse. Either you were't smart enough to do the job in the first place, or you were too stupid to listen to the EXPERTS you {should} have advising you. Yet the Republican base lets them get away with it ALL.THE.TIME.

"A stunning admission of deadly ignorance from Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, who says he only just learned that asymptomatic people can transmit #Covid19. “ndividuals could have been infecting people before they ever felt bad, but we didn’t know that until the last 24 hours.”
How does anyone get to whatever his age is without knowing that is how many diseases are transmitted?

Gosh nothing like using the pandemic to bring back a tax cut that does absolutely nothing for those that need the most help.
trump yesterday...
”Congress must pass the old, and very strongly proven, deductibility by businesses on restaurants and entertainment. This will bring restaurants, and everything related, back - and stronger than ever. Move quickly, they will all be saved!”
Translation from NPR..
”President Trump wants to bring back the tax write-off for business meals and entertainment.
Critics say reviving what is known as the "three martini lunch" tax break is not the answer to the problem that restaurants face today.”

I've seen this multiple times on Facebook today and am ready to pull my hair out. It shows a picture of Trump and then reads:
Can you imagine the weight this man is feeling right now? I have two children that depend on me daily, yet on some days my stress level is through the roof and I feel like the weight of the world is all on me. When he signed up for this role (without pay) he did it for us Americans. He didn’t do it for the fame or glory, he already had all that. He was willing to take on the job, but the magnitude of what we’re currently experiencing has got to be paralyzing. To some, NOTHING he does is ever right or good enough.
Do you ever wonder how he must be dealing with it all? When his head finally hits the pillow at night after press conferences, the scrutiny of the media, countless meetings, the endless negative and derogatory comments thrown at him, and constantly trying to defend himself and protect OUR country.
Does he break down and cry from all the pressure?
Is he scared and confused?
Is he even able to sleep?
Can he shut his mind off at all?
Or does he lay there and talk to God all night praying for strength and answers?
Whether he’s making you proud or not, look at this photo and ask God to soften your heart just a little bit and lift this man up in prayer. He needs them right now more than ever. He is carrying the weight of OUR country on his shoulders and I don’t think anybody could or would be able to do the job better than he is.
Feel free to share this post and remind everyone to be kind(to everyone) and to pray for President Trump and for the entire world 🙏🏼❤️
As always... if you don’t have anything nice to say, there’s NO NEED to comment, just keep scrolling. No one wants to hear negativity at a time like this. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Sorry but I HARDLY think he has one bit of trouble falling asleep at night. And a guy who was cheating on his wife a few months after she gave birth with a porn star is probably NOT sitting there praying all night. Do people really think he is some amazing Christian? How? I can't!

Honestly, my guess is that, because he is a 45 lover, he thinks his followers will be dumbfounded to know. The rest of us who already do understand science just think he's as/even more clueless than we already did. This is also the man who appointed Kelly Loeffler, the stock selling off Ga representative. His track record is not very impressive.

Bidding up the cost of supplies, lying about what’s coming & where he will send it, just lying outright. No, he’s not just some guy with the weight of the world on his shoulders who’s made a mistake or 2. He is actively working against solving the issue in the fastest most efficient way possible.

NBC News...
”US Navy is expected to announce that it has relieved the captain who sounded the alarm about a coronavirus outbreak aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt, according to two US officials.”
So here you have a captain who was protecting the men and women who serve under him and his reward? He’s booted.
Yes I understand all about the “chain of command”. But unless this guy was an absolute idiot, he ran his concerns up the chain of command and was ignored.
