I think the lockdown stress has been getting to me. This morning I wanted to handslap a poster on the Attic 24 Facebook group. But seriously why would you join a Facebook group that is titled Attic 24 and then have no clue what the Attic 24 blog is? I know exactly how you feel. I’m a member of a FB sewing group. The name of the company is in the title and people still ask where they can buy the supplies and patterns. Having said that, every post has to be approved by admin and they still allow these clueless posts.

And yes, I've heard "there's no such thing as a dumb question"....but really, yes there is. If I post "wow, I made some great chicken...took the chicken straight from the freezer and put it in the IP frozen solid" and someone asks "did you use fresh or frozen?" then yes that's a dumb question. Off now to see what "Attic 24" is.

I haven't picked up a crochet hook in 12 months! Got inspired by the new Fruit Garden CAL though. Anyone else doing this? I'm not using the yarn in the original pattern, I have a bunch of Scheepjes stonewashed, so I plan to use that. Did my first test run square last night:

I have the brighter colours of the two available. She is releasing a third colourway for the September launch, will be curious to see it. I like your colour combo and will be interested to see your progress. Have yet to start as I'm finishing up another Janie Crowfoot pattern. I'm doing the motifs like a production line and just have two rows on the last three motifs to do today, then yarn ends, joining and edging. Should be done by Sunday, fingers crossed. justknotsyarn.com/frida-s-flowers-primavera-yarn-pack

Here is the 6th member of my gang. Meet Fiona Faun. She is hand stitched and was a real pleasure to make. My first attempt at felting went quite well, I did her spots on face and body with a felting needle that came with her kit. I broke it so have ordered some more to do felt noses and features.

Oops. I just posted this on the board because I forgot about the craft thread. 😜 Anyway, here’s my first crochet hat, a beanie type. I gave up on the squares for now because I cannot get those edges straight. Grrrr 🙄 I’ve ordered some cotton yarn and I’ll make the washcloth that this gal (the same one whose beanie instructions I followed) has on YouTube. We will see....This beanie seemed easier because there are no edges, just going around and around and around and around....😜 Now to dig out my Star Wars kit and see what I’m up against. That will be much more difficult and I’m sure I’m not ready for that yet, but I just want to take a look.

I'm kind of pleased with it actually.... lol. The very last row is a row of slip stitch and I had to rip it out TWICE because both times it was too tight when I tried to put the hat on my head. I ended up using a larger hook and also not looping the yarn around my pinky...just left it loose. That did the trick.

Have you ever ordered from Deramores? I put in an order for a bunch of SSDK since we can't do Wool Warehouse right now.

monklady123 I am loving that beanie hat and the colour is gorgeous.
malibou I have two sewing machines which I hate using so all my sewing is by hand. I find it relaxing and helps with pain management.

I might consider it if Wool Warehouse isn't going to be an option. For right now, I have enough to work on to keep me busy. I'm still working full time, as well.

I'll report back on how long it takes to get the order.

phoenixcov - love your faun! I made her a while ago and I had the same problem with the felting needle break while doing the spots. I think you have to keep it at a 90 degree angle. I just finished Freddie badger tonight. I ordered his nose and wellie buckles in November but just didn’t get round to making him. I’ll post a photo tomorrow.

I don't know why I didnt see this before! Yes I sell them, but mostly just make them to keep busy and because I love picking out the fabrics and changing up the patterns.
