**GypsyGirl** that’s fabulous, do you have a link to the pattern please? Here you go - 1 Hour Basket TutorialI've seen several other tutorials out there, but I like this one the best. Clearly written instructions with lots of clear photos. Thank you very much **GypsyGirl**

I’ve been sewing. Masks.... lots of masks.... this one is mine. I finished up a pair of baby boots too. (why are my pictures ALWAYS upside down? Is it because I use my iPad left handed when taking pictures?) Attachments:

I wish US Aldi stores had craft items.

My yarn finally arrived yesterday!!! I've started on my lost souls shawl. It's hard to tell in the picture but the yarn is a sparkly silver. And of course it will need to be blocked when done. But I like it so far.

I wish US Aldi stores had craft items. I wonder why they don't? They're such a massive seller I'm surprised they haven't cottoned on yet.

I made a pouch, I think the fabric was from Aldi last year.
I think it's just about big enough for a sock project.

I was a die hard Aldi shopper in the UK, but over here they’re terrible. We’ve had two new ones open in our area this winter and they’re both dire. Always empty, poor quality produce, limited variety of chilled food, random weekly specials dumped on shelves. It’s as though they have removed every aspect of why Aldi is so successful in the U.K. and replaced it with kwiksave. It’s dismal.

Glad everyone is hanging in there! I, too, have been sewing masks. My taste in quilting cotton runs to pink, purple and flowers, so I had to convert a bandana into a mask for BF. It's less than ideal, but he's pleased not to be sporting a pink mask. I've been knitting dish cloths, and working still on the bonkers blanket. The edging is a dark charcoal color, and my old eyes have a hard time with it at night. Love the lamb basket, **GypsyGirl**! A bigger, deeper one would be a great yarn basket!

Still plugging away at my shawl. I was down a few days this week as I cut my finger and it was just in a spot where woah crochet hurt. I've been back at it the past couple of days. I think I might break and scrapbook a bit today.

It feels grubby and unorganized. This caused me to make the mistake of keeping away from Aldi on our 3 week trip to England last year. I won't make that mistake again.

Maybe Aldi think there is no point in going into competition with places like Michaels and JoAnns in the US? (Assuming I am mentioning the right places?) We don't have places like that over here so maybe Aldi feel they can have a decent foot in the market UK wide?

We don't have places like that over here so maybe Aldi feel they can have a decent foot in the market UK wide? Possibly. One of the Aldis in my area has opened up directly opposite Costco, Meijer (huge grocery superstore), Joanns, and Target. So they’re definitely aware that they have competition for grocery sales from other well established retailers. But tbh I wouldn’t bother buying crafty bits and fabric from Aldi when I have access to Michaels and Joanns. And the stores are usually fairly empty. Much different to my local Aldi in Surrey where I often had to queue to park my car!!

This is so lovely. I can’t knit or crochet but I’m tempted to buy that just to look at the colours! I can store it with all of my beautiful fabric that is too pretty to cut up!! Actually I might order it for DD who is crocheting like crazy during lockdown!
