True. To me, I think bored means nothing to do. But for others maybe that means that nothing is "speaking" to you as to what you want to do. Does that make sense? And maybe my wording in the title wasn't completely accurate, either. I want to be able to read, scrapbook, clean/organize, do projects with the kids. But I feel like I don't have the time to do those things due to work, school, cleaning and cooking. If you look up bored, the first definition is “wearied by dullness; tedious repetition.” To me, that perfectly describes quarantine regardless of how you fill your time. So, yes, I am bored off my ass and will remain so. Not trying to be argumentative, just focusing on the different ways of perceiving the word. I can see how the sameness of every day could be considered monotonous when you can’t do the things you really want to do or are used to doing. These are unusual times, and we have to get creative to not get stuck in that kind of rut. From your previous posts, you’ve said that you enjoy going to the theater and other kinds of cultural events. If you can’t go to a play, why don’t you put one on yourself? Help the kids write a script, make costumes, make some props or items for sets and record it digitally so you can watch it later. Make a stop motion movie with Lego minifigures or claymation. Have the kids make flip book animations. Have you checked out the free online museum tours people here have talked about? To answer the question though, no I am never bored. I have times when I’m not feeling motivated to do anything and other times when I’m just plain tired, but that to me doesn’t equal bored. I always have more than enough to do and I have a lot of hobbies that interest me and things I want to try. There are always new things I want to learn. Sometimes (okay, a LOT of the time) what I have to do isn’t what I really want to be doing but it is what it is. A lot of the time I feel like I don’t have enough consecutive hours of free time to do what I want to do, or the space I need to do whatever thing is cluttered and it will take me more time to tidy up the space than I have to do the project. Or the space I would need to use is currently clean and organized and I don’t want to junk it up for an undetermined length of time because the project I want to do will take longer than a day or two to do. iamkristinl16 You’re not the only one who hasn’t binged a lot of shows, made a lot of crafts or read a bunch of books. I haven’t done any of those things either because I’m busy chasing my tail with getting going on distance learning for my kid, working (still from home, although a little less), trying to keep the house picked up with more people here all day, working some on getting the yard cleaned up a little and trying to get my (laundry) cookie room organized and set up. The new stuff that’s invaded my days has just replaced all of the other everyday things I can no longer do. There’s definitely not any more free time in my day either with all these changes, in fact there’s probably less.

Yup, bored. Everything I like to do, I can't do. There's plenty of homebody crap to do, but that bores me to tears and I don't enjoy it. I prefer to be active and outside, swimming, golfing, biking, etc.

Not bored. A little stir crazy but not bored. I have plenty of stuff to do. I just hate that we can't go out.

My husband and I are never bored. We both have hobbies that we love and are enjoying the time to do them. Husband is also still working from home most of the day but is enjoying that because he’s wearing shorts, petting the dog, and taking frequent breaks. I have school work thata due Monday so I’m plowing through those. Tonight we have a bottle of champagne chilling!

No, not bored at all, I'm a housewife so my routine isn't that much different now. And I have lots of projects to work on in my off time.

Not bored! I feel busier than ever, partly because I'm having to learn a new way to teach everything (feels like my first year of teaching, when I stayed up late every night, frantically preparing for the next day!), and partly because there's no separation between work and home. I hate feeling like there's no "off" switch for work. I know that will ease up as we get accustomed to the new normal, but it's brutal right now.

Well, I’m an introvert and prefer to stay home. I don’t work, my dh works from home and we don’t have kids at home anymore, so not much has really changed except that instead of my dd insisting I get out of the house and go somewhere, she’s insisting that I stay home. hahaha I’m not bored at all.

I’m not bored. Still watching my granddaughter when her parents are working. Cleaning a bit during the rest of the time as well as reading, crocheting, watching tv, cooking and more.

I’m not. Like you, I’m enjoying having spare time to do things I wouldn’t normally have time to do. I have a ton of puzzles and books I’m looking forward to reading, yard stuff. I’m pretty good at occupying myself though. Maybe that’s my Gen X coming through. 😅
Now, if I could just beat this insomnia...
I should add I am also working which kills 8 hours of the day, but if I wasn’t I’d still be fine.

I am bored because I have cleaned everything I can. The bathrooms are spotless, all the laundry is done. I changed the kitchen cloths and washed and dried the dirty ones. I found some Lysol Wipes on the lower level in this box. Score. If t Salvation Army were open I would take more stuff to donate. Tomorrow I will start on Elannah’s storage room. Maybe I will get a couple of big bags filled up with stuff. I am still bored but productively bored. It helps I have a floor in the house to myself.

I'm not bored... I've been working on a huge project for work for the last week and a half and now it's launched and I'm in a data gathering/retro phase and I've gone from hyperfocused to absolutely braindead. It's crazy.
I'm interested to see what next week feels like when I should have the chance to figure out what this "new normal" feels like when I don't have a super tight deadline on something big am working my more normal cadence.

No, not at all. We are all introverts and get along very well. I have tons of craft projects to keep me busy for months. I never get bored of my own company.

I am not bored. I am introvert with a lot of projects to keep me going. However, I am feeling a bit unmotivated, and I just don't want to do them.

I feel like I should have more time do do things than I do, mostly because I’m home all day. But I’m working from home 8-11 hours a day depending on the day of the week. And with prepping/cooking every meal right now I only maybe have an extra half hour, maybe hour each day.
I actually find myself a little envious of those who have a lot of time on their hands, but I am still getting my regular paycheck so I’m not going to complain too much.

I’m not bored. I would prefer to be able to be spontaneous and go places if the mood strikes but I haven’t even added any extras that I thought I might yet- like working on a decor project, puzzles, and learning to crochet. I haven’t cleaned anything extra, crafted, or read a book. I did read one magazine- that was new. Basically I work (full time telework), exercise, care for my dogs, make dinner, talk with dh a bit, Text dds, clean up the kitchen and watch a tv show or surf online a little and go to bed. No real extra time in my day.

My kids are grown, but I have plenty of crafts and books to keep me happily contented at home. No boredom here.
I feel like I actually have time to do whatever I want instead of what others were expecting of me. It’s made me rethink some things.

I was a SAHM who volunteered almost daily before. Now I'm a SAHM who homeschools 4 kids (although not online until next week, and only 2 hours per day per the state not 5 or 6 like some places, that would kill me!).
I'm not bored in that I don't have things to do: cleaning, scrapbooking, laundry, reading, knitting, watching TV, gardening, organizing, never ending dishes... but every day is the same. It's like pandemic Groundhog Day version.
I also spent the whole day today thinking today was Friday... no idea why since Friday isn't any more exciting than Wednesday these days!
DH has been working from home (although in our camping trailer not in the house) and because this week was supposed to be Spring Vacation he has today, tomorrow and Friday off which is making it feel like it's the weekend and we should be going somewhere since he's inside the house...
I think I've been dealing with it OK, until today for some reason. Maybe it's the weather, the weather in Washington has been rainy and cold for what feels like weeks now.
It's just all very repetitive which is it's own kind of boring after 19 days...

I live alone and I am not bored. Other than the stress of worrying about my loved ones and the people in the world, I'm having the time of my life. I am an introvert so I love being alone. I am crafting and watching tv.

I’m not bored now and I don’t think I’ve been bored since I was 8. I have countless books to read, things to cook and places to walk. Not bored.

I’m not bored — I feel busier than I was before, even though I was already working remotely. I miss certain activities (mostly revolving around going on dates with my husband and eating at restaurants haha), but I am enjoying being a homebody.

I’m not bored. I’m used to spending time on my own. I’m a bit fed up with waking up so early. I live near a busy road, which is no longer busy! It’s like the silence wakes me up! I was awake at 4am this morning. I long for some traffic noise!

I was the tailender child, my brothers were 8 and 10 years older than me and they played together because they were both boys and closer in age. My parents loved me very much but they weren't the type of parents who played with us kids. I grew up being able to entertain myself so I am not bored.

I am not bored. My house is a bit more crowded since we are all at home but truthfully I’m appreciating the change of pace. I also gratefully acknowledge the privilege that I have right now to still have a job and that I am able to work from home.

I'm not bored and I'm not stressed or anxious. I don't want to sound flippant and dismissive of the people who are struggling emotionally and financially, and those are sick and dying - I wish this virus would end right now and everything could get back to normal. But I am making the most of things, and I am actually loving my daily routine at the moment.
~ I love being able to work from home every day, instead of only one or two days a week. ~ I love that I have an extra 2.5 hours in my day where I am not having to travel to and from work. ~ I love that I "get home" from work early enough to cook dinner every night. ~ I love that I finally have time to clean out my wardrobe and my office. ~ I love that I can stay up later and have more time to scrap and read and watch TV and surf the net and cook. ~ I love that I can take my dog for a walk every lunchtime. ~ And I love that we are spending more time together as a family.

I never get bored, but I’m disappointed that with everyone else stuck in the house I don’t really have the time or chance to work on projects like I see others doing. There’s more cleaning to do, and no time just to myself which is so necessary to me. I’ve taken to staying up even later than usual in my room at night, it gives me alone time.

Not bored. A little stir crazy but not bored. I have plenty of stuff to do. I just hate that we can't go out. But you can go out. Unless you live in another country perhaps where they've actually put everyone on house arrest. I go out three times every day...walk my dog in the morning, then a walk by myself at noon-ish, and a walk late in the afternoon.

I am rarely ever bored. I was just thinking last night that I feel like I have LESS time to do what I want to do because I'm teleworking so I'm at "home", so it feels like I have SO much more time at home, but I'm still spending 8+ hours a day "at work" too.
