I keep seeing posts here and on FB about being bored, what to do when you are bored, etc. I am NOT bored! I wish that I had more time to do the things that I want to do rather than the things I need to do. Between trying to work from home, help the kids with their school work and keep the house reasonably clean, I don't feel like I have any more time than I did before. We are still trying to get into a routine now that the kids are in school, and that is going to involve extra chores for the kids. But with the kids all over the house trying to do school and me trying to do work, everything is all out of sorts.
Is anyone else feeling this way? Help me feel not so alone in being the only one that hasn't binge watched tons of shows, completed crafts, or read several books (I did watch most of the Tiger King and I read a book for book club, which is more than I would typically do lol).

Like you said, things are out of sorts. I’m now a fifth grade teacher. I’ve learned all the planets in order and I can tell you a fact about each. 😁 I’ve been decluttering, cooking more, playing with my kiddo, reading... but I do this every weekend usually, so I’m not bored. I am more anxious, worry about my adult daughter up in DC.
I am online more. On more groups, replying more than usual, making that friend connection online instead of at work. Take care!

Nope, I haven't been bored. I'm working the same amount of hours, just from home instead of the office, so besides our previous weekly trips to the grocery store and out for lunch on Saturdays, we do the same things.

I’m not bored in the sense that I have nothing to do, I’m bored in the sense that none of the things I can do are satisfying or entertaining to me. The things that make me feel good and complete and worthwhile are not happening right now.
I think that bored can mean more than one thing and when you see people post about it you have to remember that.
Yes, I have kids and I’m trying to keep them busy. I’m trying to keep the house clean and having to do more cooking than ever before, which creates more dishes than ever before. Keeping up with those things occupies time, but doesn’t make me any less bored.

Nope...not bored here. I have too much I'm trying to do.
I feel sorry for those that are bored. My thought is that they just don't have other interests. Now would be the time to look into doing other things.

Not bored. I kind of like the more relaxed pace. It is nice to start a work project and finish a work project without the 100 interruptions. I miss my work people and students (I work in a HS office), but I surprisingly have plenty to keep me busy with work, and can start laundry, dinner, and chat with DS home from college while doing it.

I was a stay at home mom for 12 years. I'm an introvert and play video games. Although I miss being at work and with the students, I'm not bored. Dd will start having to complete school assignments next week so I'm sure I will have to stay on her about that. I bought a new video game I've been wanting so I have that to keep me busy. Dd also plays video games so I play with her. In January we adopted a beautiful Black Labrador so he keeps everyone busy with the messes he makes.

If you look up bored, the first definition is “wearied by dullness; tedious repetition.” To me, that perfectly describes quarantine regardless of how you fill your time. Me. I’m a homebody introvert anyway. I’ve been busy everyday working my normal hours plus helping kids with school work. I’ve been working just as hard at home as I normally do at school, it’s just been a different kind of work. I love to read, so I’m good!

Not bored at all. Still working a bit, lots of projects at home and my office to work on, plus plenty of time to sleep and relax. Makes me want to retire sooner rather than later.

I have not had a moment to be bored or do anything that I want to do. Working from home seems to have turned into 24/7. I'm not sure how to manage this, especially since my hours will be reduced by 50% in two weeks and 70% off our staff were reduced or laid off. 😐
I'd love a moment to read or watch a movie or scrapbook.

I'm not bored in a nothing to do sense. I'm bored in a every day is the same sense. As much as I try to make our daily walk interesting by going in different directions, the truth is we have lived here for 20+ years, so we have seen all the town has to offer. My work at home job is the same every day, even if I change up my schedule to work at a different time of day. The most exciting event I am expecting this week? Tomorrow we are celebrating 3 of the cats birthdays, so I will make a cake.

Not bored at all. I'm LOVING being able to do some stamping. I'm blessed with about a gazillion stamps, most of which have never been used, so here I am stamping merrily away. Got my Christmas cards planned and the stamping done. Once they are dry I'll pull out the Copic markers (I keep wanting to call them COVID markers  ) and start coloring. I'm also baking bread a lot as we are actually staying home. I've been out one time for a pick up order from Walmart (first time I ever tried that--what a sweet thing that is). Been trying to do a little more Bible studying as well. Fun to see what others are doing. |

I'm not *too* bored. I wish I had more time to do fun stuff, I'm still working (at home) and between that and cooking more meals and doing more dishes, I have some more time, but not a ton.
I just want to get out and see more people (and I'm an introvert!) and go out to dinner etc. We go on a walk each day and today I had to take one of our dogs to the vet (they come out to the car and get your pet). That was my excitement for the day.

I'm not bored at all but then I'm never bored. I'm also not off work because I didn't work outside of the home before this. With my chronic migraines I haven't worked outside of the home for awhile.
I have plenty to keep me busy both now and before we were quarantined that there just aren't enough hours in the day.
This is the perfect time for a new hobby or to indulge in a current one that you never have enough time for. I'm enjoying my new hobby of knitting so much. I'm reading as much as ever, and spending time on the computer each day just like normal only now it's mostly spent looking up knitting yarns and patterns. I guess it helps that I'm an introvert. Both DH and I are.

I'm not 'bored' but I am doing more crafting and cleaning. I work 3 - 10 hour days and off four.. This just started so this will be my second round starting tomorrow. DD is 11 and is doing her own homework for the most part. I just fill in when she isn't sure when to log in for group chats or whatever.. I did a bunch of deep cleaning last week so this week I have a couple of projects to do plus some laundry. Then once that is done I have time for my crafts, reading, or TV. But I am not bored. (Although last Sunday, I was wandering around the house with no purpose.. lol.. so weird.)

If I didn't have to worry about work as well as everything else it would be so much less stressful. I'm also a homebody introvert. I quit my job a month ago (unrelated to the current situation) and have no kids. DH is working 50-60 hours a week so I'm doing my best to support him from home. Beyond that I've been cooking & baking, internet'ing, diamond painting, reading, listening to music, puzzles, cleaning/organizing/purging, playing app games/video games. I'm about to set-up my craft room for scrapbooking and will start doing that, too!

My mornings are filled with challenging work, and my afternoons have been somewhat entertaining so far. I have lots of things I should do, but feel like if I do them all too quickly, I'll run out of things to do. I am able to get out every day to walk the dogs and that helps a lot.

I don’t even want to clean and do laundry, even though I still am. It’s a mental thing I’m sure. I don’t think it is even a bored thing as much of an annoyed thing that just frustrates me. |

No kids at home but I am not bored. Sewing masks, checking in with multiple people daily or very regularly, occupy a great deal of my time. I've ordered quite a few provisions on Amazon. I let them sit for several days untouched in the garage or front hall, then take the time to wipe everything down properly before putting away in the house.
I really feel for you and everyone else working from home, home with kids to educate, and especially doing BOTH of those things.
My heart breaks for people dealing and living with extremely challenging circumstances before Coronavirus turned our lives upside down.

I have at least an hour commute each way. Now I seem to work that plus I rarely quit before 6pm, and often start before 8. My usual work day is 8.30 to 4.30!!
That plus regular chores. My brain is fried. I am not bored!
