South Carolina doesn't have a SIP order because we're special.
Uh-huh. Yes, we are. Our Governor says so.
“South Carolina is unique,” he said. ”Our people, our structure is unique. Every state is not like every other state.”
We DO have lots of the rules about store closing, gatherings, public places, etc -- but no SIP order. He added more businesses to the closed list at Friday's press conference, but since we're sooooo unique, he's gave them the whole weekend and until 5 pm today to stay open.
Is uniqueness a vaccine? God, I hope so.

Did you guys here the oh so brilliant Governor of FL has reopened beaches? What a dork! Anyhow......I just do not comprehend why some aren’t sticking to a shelter in place order. I think you're referring to the Governor of Georgia. Our Florida beaches are still closed.

Well, Texas is totally half-assing it.
I live in a petrochemical industry hub within the greater Houston regional area, my town and the neighboring towns are refinery and chemical plant communities. So being essential industries, it's mostly business as usual here. Schools are closed, the library and community center are closed, and some random businesses are closed. Restaurants are all pickup and delivery only, and stores are instituting various degrees of social distancing. But to drive down our main street, it looks like a normal day. Not many people can work at home, it's a blue collar area. So yeah, very much business as usual here with a handful of restrictions and changes. We're an anomaly in that we're sheltering in place, but my husband and I both have autoimmune diseases, and he is able to work from home.

If you live in a state without a Shelter in Place order, are businesses still open? Are people working from home? Still congregating? Or is it essentially like a Shelter in Place but not official? It's like Shelter in place but not official. Our SC governor is coming on TV at 4pm - I am hoping he's going to make it official. I don't think it will change a thing that my family and I are doing, because we're social distancing, ordering delivery for groceries infrequently, and not going anywhere except on a long walk every day around the neighborhood. Only people we have talked to are neighbors, in the yard, more than 6 ft. away. I think there are some people who weren't following guidelines, but after the beaches, lakes and parks have closed all public access, that has decreased too. Although, I suspect there is a lot of partying going on, too.

I thought they were closed. Where did you see they reopened? That's terrible! Sorry...I just got back here. I heard it on tv. I haven't heard it since so maybe they were wrong. I hope so.

I also believe the forest preserves should be closed. Too many people. Cripes take a walk down your own street!
