What has made you happy or put a smile on your face today?
I just got a package in the mail from school. Of course I'm thinking the worse, but it's a sweet note from our Principal and Assistant Principal and a solid chocolate Easter bunny from a local chocolatier.
An unexpected surprise!

The dishwasher is being installed in my new house. Getting close to move-in.. Also the realtor for my existing house told me about a house he just listed that had 12 offers over the asking price.

My grocery has plenty of TP! 😁
I picked up some things for an immunocompromised friend while I was there. We enjoyed a nice socially distant conversation when I dropped it off.

My DH thinks dairy is at risk next. In my state they are dumping milk there isn't anyone to haul it. Glad you found TP without a problem!

The rain, we still need it desperately here and it keeps people indoors.
Living in the Bay Area
Being able to drink two cups of coffee
Knowing my husband is working hard and has a steady job
Seeing our front yard veg garden grow
My son's health seems to be improving
Almost finishing my Doctor Who scarf I started in 2013
Hearing my other son working with his parkour co-workers on figuring out a way to do online classes and keeping the parkour studio alive. Also when he told me he wants to teach classes but not get paid, to help the owners out financially

For yesterday, it was that the sun was out. It’s been pretty grey here for the past few days so working by a sunny window was nice. Going for a walk before dinner in the warm-ish sunshine was energizing. Let’s see what today brings

That is so true. Last time I went to the grocery store, I would have purchased 2 bunches of carrots, but there were only 2 left, so I only took 1. I figured someone else would be happy they found fresh carrots. I never really considered NO one would take the last bunch. I am happy I placed my first online order for grocery delivery. It was really easy. I have the Hy-Vee fuel saver card and apparently it tracks what I buy. Who knew? So, I just scrolled through previously puchased items and added what I need to my cart. I was able to get a delivery in 2 days. DH is battling cancer, so I am no longer going out for anything, except 1 drug that I have to get in person. We are good with that for another month or so.

I posted that my daughter couldn't get tested for covid--well, she's doing much better. She still feels a little weak but no fever or cough. So glad, since I can't go see her.

Today is my wedding anniversary.(15 years!) We always go to a hotel and have high tea- not happening this year so we are making high tea at home. The sun is shining so I think we will have it on the balcony. My daughter and so made macarons last night and while they aren't exactly as pretty as Laudaree's- they turned out pretty well and taste good. One day, I will get the hang of them

Ours is tomorrow, 48 years. We usually go out to eat at a nice restaurant, that will have to wait. Gosh, those macarons sound really good! My sis and I did high tea in NYC a few years back, it was fabulous. My little Chihuahua girl made me smile this morning, zooming around the room in her joy to see me.

It's stuffing day! I decided to roast the turkey that DH gets as a Christmas bonus every year, instead of letting it sit in the freezer until a month or two before he gets the next one. My issue is usually having fridge space to thaw it, but then I realized I could use a fridge up at the church where I now work because otherwise the fridge isn't getting used for much right now.
I like turkey, but really it's just a cooking vessel for the stuffing that my family has been making for decades...so I'm calling today Stuffing Day!

I'm watching my cat who is trying to decide whether to "stalk" the chipmunk filling his cheeks with sunflower seeds, or the woodpecker on the suet feeder.
It's her version of finding two good games being broadcast on TV at the same time. Choices, choices.

We had a beautiful day yesterday, but back to typical gloomy rainy weather today. In southwest PA, you really appreciate a nice day when you get it because it doesn't happen often.
I just got back from the post office, and there was no line! I was the first in and only two came in after me. Had to buy stamps and I mailed 6 books to my mom. So happy to have books for her to read.

the rain (bay area.. need it). my dd is doing an online college course (she has autism).. after 99% on all her tests, the format changed and she got 67%. totally mad.. contacted disability office, they helped her write an email to prof, turns out she got one of the higher scores in the class, and the prof decided to double the time allowed for the test.. so problem solved!!! and a friend sent an article from her hometown paper about one of my high school classmates, who published a wonderful book of poetry last year. He has had 7`8 books published.

We live out in the woods, quite a bit of distance between homes. I can hear out my open window the sounds of 4 tykes in the closest house, shrieking and whooping it up on the numerous outdoor pieces of play equipment they have. There's a many-floored tree house their father and grandfather built, a trampoline, a blow-up house to jump in, many riding toy vehicles, etc. 😊
It's just so good to hear them outside!

My blue hibiscus flowered for the first time. It’s an amazing color.
I was able to order potting soil online. Don’t judge me.
I need to get back into gardening (couldn’t do it for a while due to eye surgery but my MD cleared me). Gardening makes me happy.

I'm laughing because both my cats wandered by, and the instant they walked into a sunbeam it was like they got stuck by a force field. So there they sit in the sun, happily cleaning themselves.
Also I'm listening to my son play his clarinet for his studio class, and it sounds so lovely. All his classmates and professors are on a zoom call.

It is a bright, sunny day here & I get to be outside playing in my garden. I love seeing the flowers come back to life in general, but this year it is extra special.

After 2 days of rain it’s a beautiful sunny day and everything is green and lush outside and I had a fabulous run this morning - such a pretty day. And we’ve got fully stocked cupboards so need to go to the store.

Sun and 60 degrees here. I have the windows open. Loving the fresh air.
Eta: I picked up a packet of instructions for dd from her piano teacher's front porch. Next week they will do virtual piano lessons. I love how everyone is getting creative to keep life rolling forward as safely as possible.
Also love that dd is pitching in at her two jobs after her school requirements are completed. She has such a helpful attitude. Might as well, since she's not busy with a spring sport.
