It was a nice day outside and I had a really refreshing walk.

I put birdseed on the deck facing our French doors thatβs been attracting all manner of birds and squirrels and chipmunks and itβs keeping the dog and cats entertained for hours.
My COVID19 test was negative so I was able to leave quarantine and go for a walk.

I taught first grade before middle school. My last group of first graders are currently in third grade. I set up a Zoom spring break reunion for them. I read a story we all loved and thought that would be it. We ended up being on Zoom for 2 1/2 hours! They shared pets, showed of their collections, talked about school being closed for the rest of the year, answered questions about what is going to happen to the stuff in their desks, and ended with jokes, lots of smiles and laughter ... it was the best thing thatβs happened since school was closed!

Today my coworker (my real one), who has also been a great friend for years, got mad at me because her skills on Word had her deleting a graphic we had been working on for 30 minutes. Mind you she was the one typing. She just paused, lowered her voice and told me that she was going to kill me. A long, slow painful death. She didn't even get to the end of her comment before I was laughing so loud my husband had to come in the room and see if I was actually on a conference call. No coworkers were harmed.

I'll bet the kids all loved socializing with others. What a great time, I'm sure! Their parents were probably very happy too.

While waiting to see a client this morning , DD messaged me.
DD: " I took the stairs instead of the elevator up four flights now I gotta chill out and slow my breathing to not freak out my client lol." continued pretending to address client: "I am hard of breathing because I mildly exercised and I am not in shape. Not corona."
Me: Covid19? No lazy.
DD: Mood
Gotta find the funny where you can.
ETA and my windows are open, first day above 70 here.

I got a Walmart pickup slot! I feel so bad for people in more populated areas that are having such trouble. While the Walmart slots fill pretty quickly, I've not had too much trouble getting a slot. I have 2 WalMarts in towns about same distance from me, and one fills up quicker than the other but I can usually get a slot if I pay attention and get in early. We tried Aldi delivery via Instacart and said next available day to book was 2 or 3 days out but you could also choose next available. That's what I did because it's not like I'm going anywhere. A few hours later I got notice that my order was being shopped and on way soon. I consider myself lucky in many ways living in the middle of farmland. This is once of those times. I happy you got in. I hope you get all or most of what you want. Carrots for me keep getting deleted. I love them roasted and figured theyd last longer than a lot of fresh veggies. No such luck on that but I'm good.

Our weather in N. Texas has been up and down and I need to get new shorts. Obviously, I can't go out and get them but I got a great deal at Old Navy and they should be here before the weather really warms up. Also, virtual Happy Hours with DS and his husband and my BFF have been great. it's amazing what small things can make a huge difference.

I've never heard of a blue hibiscus. If you have the chance, would you share a photo? (Yes, I could google and probably will, but I want to see M's amazing flower. ) Hi! Letβs see if I can do this .... It's lovely! Thanks!

I discovered the liquor store delivers. I discovered this last week and it was a good day! Today we opened the pool! The pool is my zen space and it was an unexpected surprise. It's supposed to be 90 tomorrow (and was 88 today) so I turned the heater on for the first time hoping it would be tolerable by then. We've got a small pool, so it warmed up much faster than the interwebs led me to believe it would, and my chemicals were in check. Woot!

After a nonstop week, I think we have assisted all of our clients in applying for their PPP loans. I headed that project and I am exhausted. The owner of our company is closing the office at 130 tomorrow so we can all recharge.

1. It was a beautiful day today and the next two days look to be that way as well. 2. Our yards are shaping up after the work we've put in. I love that change from winter-blah to ready-for-summer. 3. A boy from my 4th period class send me a thank you note for keeping the kids in class all connected with each other and for sending enrichment work home while we figured out how to go forward with school. Very sweet and thoughtful!

The hummingbirds arrived at our feeder yesterday. I've been watching them from my desk while they have breakfast this morning. I'm also getting 2 little kittens to play with this afternoon while DD has conference calls (see my earlier thread for photos)!
