Hey everyone! I'm not sure if I'm supposed to start the thread today but I thought I'd give scrapmaven a break I'm just hanging out today ... so glad it is a holiday! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I'm an only child and was a good kid so never got slapped ... but the threat probably kept me in line What are you up to today? As boring as me? I don't know what I'll have for dinner ... I'm going to the store soon ... I'll decide when I get there What is on your menu tonight? Hugs to anyone who needs them!

We’ve had a lovely boring day here. Absolutely NOTHING is open here on Good Friday even in normal years, so it is usually a quiet day for us, with just church in the afternoon anyway, but this year we didn’t even have church. DH actually went for 2 walks - one this morning and one after lunch - to make up for not getting out much during the week. I went for my regular cemetery stroll this afternoon. I am getting through a lot of podcasts with walking every day now. Apart from that, it has just been reading and lounging around. Dinner tonight is our traditional Good Friday dinner - tuna/corn casserole, served on either rice or pasta - not sure which at this stage.

Good morning guys. I've just been given notice I can have the afternoon off. I am debating going out for groceries. Jeremy will do it tomorrow if I ask him but he never does as good of a job as me. He doesn't think to look for things that aren't on a list.
I am planning teriyaki beef tonight.

Love the meme, leannec! Thanks for starting the thread, enjoy your day off! scrapmaven, I hope you are resting comfortably with your family pampering you. I'm probably going to grill some tri-tip steaks with some fruit salad and half avocados filled with sliced green onions, cherry tomatoes with a splash of olive oil and sea salt. In case anyone needs to be reminded, TGIF!

leannec, thank you for starting the thread. I just crawled out of bed, because the phone woke me up. I really appreciate it. I'm very tired, but that's probably a med that they gave me in the hospital. Dude! Drugs are bad. I know that we have a couple nurses on this thread, teddyw and smcast and I just want to take this time to thank you both for the work that you do to take care of the rest of us. Nurses are good people. My dinner plan is chicken bowl, but it'll really depend upon how I'm feeling later. Thank you for being concerned about me tribe, but I'm OK. Love the memes leannec and cadoodlebug . If my sister and I fought my mother would threaten to crack our heads together. She never did it, but it sounded awful and it straightened us up, quickly. Keep the memes coming, because it's a little enjoyment to start the day.

I cooked too much pasta the other day, so tonight I will serve the leftovers with sausage alfredo sauce, some sort of vegetable, and breadsticks. JoP, I am so sorry for the loss of your dear friend.

I went grocery shopping this morning and bought haddock to fry for dinner. I know we’ll have salad and probably fries with it. Ds and dgd are having burgers.

More painting....and tomorrow will be a repeat of today. Nothingelse to do, corona or not, since the entire country is always shut down Thursday-Monday during Easter. Most take Monday-Wednesday off work too, since all schools are closed those days, so if anyone ever plans to travel to Norway during Easter: don’t. There is absolutely nothing to do here during that week.
Dinner? Homemade pizza.

Wishing everyone a blessed Good Friday! It hasn't seemed like Holy Week in my world. My routine is so out of whack.
Dinner tonite will be pork loin and potatoes in the crock pot.
I'm going to make some deviled eggs for Sunday later today too.
I'm taking a break from making masks today after I finish a few. I think I'll read my book for a while today.

I have some fancy, elegant dinner plan! My "gentleman caller" texted me and wants to bring over Burger King! I haven't seen him for over a week and that was only because it was my birthday last week. He brought signs and balloons to celebrate. We kept our social distance and agreed that we should continue to stay in our own respective homes. It will be nice to see him and even nicer to have a break from the monotony of the shelter in place edict. I never thought I would be so excited for fast food!

We have a lot of leftovers to work in clearing out - so that’s what tonight will be. Luckily my dh loves leftovers. It’s a beautiful day here so after work (at home) I’ll go for a long walk probably on the golf course as it has less people (it’s still open). It’s a private/members only kind of place.

For our dining pleasure this evening we will be enjoying goulash and a vegetable along with another piece of that home made cake......I wish it was done with so I could make some other goodie...........
I’ve been making face masks for the nursing home the mother resides in because when I asked about their mask wearing habits the head nurse said they were fixing to run out in a couple weeks unless the state sends them some......they have no virus there yet and it would be lovely if they could keep it that way............
Happy Dance Friday (which right now feels like every other day of the week) Everybody!

I can't get enough of the pickled vegetables this week so will feed my cravings with Cauliflower Banh Mi (subbing honey for the maple syrup). It has not stopped raining and I'm desperate to get out for a walk.

Tonight could be anything. I have ground beef and chicken in the freezer. We could also do it old school and have perogies. That’s what I want anyway. Anyway I will come up with something. We eat a lot of vegetables and I think I need to go to the store for more. I am trying to keep up with demand but failing. I will just buy more.

Hope you manage your walk bc2ca Thanks, but sadly, it's not looking good. DH can't believe I won't suck it up and go in the rain, but my feet would be soaked in seconds. I'm watching the noon news with all the flood updates and radar maps showing this storm just sitting over us. Weather like this reminds why I love living in southern CA though. Most of the time it is pretty perfect.

Delta Dawn I love pierogies. We usually have them for lent. My sister makes them. Since the shelter in place order here I wasn’t able to go there and get some. She’s 3 hours away so no picking up off the porch. I suppose I could have made them. Anyway since it’s Good Friday we will either have fish or some other meatless meal. But from carryout. I’ve been cleaning all day. scrapmaven glad you’re home. Let the men take care of you. CarefreeSadie it’s nice you’re doing that for your mom’s caretakers. It spreads so easily in nursing facilities. jeremysgirl how’s your dd? Faring any better? The Birdhouse Lady how is Kait? Any better for her? It’s awful how much people are suffering.

Glad you’re home scrapmaven ! Tonight is more rechauffle. I already decided tomorrow night we are getting curbside Texas Road House. I’m dying for some fried pickles with ranch, steak and baked potato. Ran to Walgreens today, first time wearing my mask and felt like I was robbing the place. Lol I needed to pick up a prescription and score! I found some toilet paper, Lysol wipes and Clorox multi purpose spray. I’d kill for some aerosol lysol. I’ve got about half a can. I use it to spray the UPS deliveries and mail. I was also on the hunt for more EmergenC Immune +. I have about a week supply left. It is nowhere to be found in stores or online. 😡 the ones I find on Amazon are price gouging and don’t even ship till May. Now I’m working on my ocd spice organization. I bought a rack on Amazon that came with cute preprinted labels and 4oz glass jars. Once the jars and lids dry I’ll be decanting all my random plastic spice/herb bottles into this set up. So exciting right??!? 🤦🏻♀️

This morning I did the grocery shopping for us and the in laws. Not fun, but surprisingly not too bad either. There were a couple things I couldn't find (tater tots!!), but plenty of food and the stores were orderly and not crowded. Although I've never made it, I've been craving tater tot casserole since it made an appearance on the thread this week.
I played pyromaniac in the back yard. We had yard waste to get rid of and I had a lot of old medical files to burn. It was a cool morning, so it was toasty to stand next to the fire.
Dinner will be potato skins, fruit salad, and corn.
Courage everyone!
JoP, so sorry to hear of your loss.

We picked up lunch from my friend’s Mexican restaurant. (“We” = DS, the 11yo, and me.) It made me sublimely happy, both the food and the company. 😊 So I’m still stuffed now, and will probably just eat the remaining house-made chips and salsa for dinner. In other happy news, I was finally able to get four big bags of the German soup noodles I like from Amazon. Normally I buy them at World Market, but it’s closed and refuses to ship my noodles. I ordered some (way overpriced) from Amazon a couple of weeks ago, but they sent spaetzle instead of soup noodles. So I finally found another seller who was still overpriced, but less so and ordered 4 bags and crossed my fingers they’d send the right thing this time. And YES!! My noodles are here. More chicken soup is on the horizon. (Does anyone know what I should do with spaetzle? sueg? jubejubes?)

With my left overs, the next day I like to fry them very lightly, using butter, tossing them in the frying pan (similar to making fried rice) and put gravy over them. I have never tried the dried spaetzle but do see the bags of them in the stores. Strange that you can't find the Bechtle soup noodles at your grocery stores. Even the Walmart here (Niagara, Ontario) has the 500 gram bags of them, very reasonably priced.
