I’m not sure. My 23 year old loves 80 miles away and I hope to see him soon ish. We are under SIP until June 10th here in VA so it will be a while.

Are they? I saw she was talking about how it might be done but I didn't catch that they're doing it on their own timetable. It wouldn't surprise me though - she's all about Scotland being independent in any way, shape or form. There has been talk of the county I live in being used as a test centre for some kind of early release from lockdown with contact tracing/testing. I think the theory is that as we are an island it should be easier to monitor the population. I have zero faith in their ability to carry out anything correctly and am resigned to staying in personal lockdown longer than official restrictions. I hadn't heard that but it would perhaps be a good way to start. I'm sorry you're feeling so vulnerable

I sort of see the theory, gar, except we have a massive elderly population here and one tiny hospital. Recently a murder suspect on the run came over on the ferry and evaded police for 2 days, so I'm not sure how they suddenly think their tracking and tracing will suddenly be more effective because there's a pandemic. I know there's no easy answer to when and how to lift restrictions. I will be watching the other European countries and see how they go, and be grateful that I don't have to make the decision for everyone.

Agreed - I do think we’ll be watching the Europeans very closely. As you say, there’s absolutely not easy, ideal solution - it’s all going to about compromises in the end.

Well, we had my ILs over for dinner 2 nights ago. First time in almost 2 months that we have seen them. They were deeply depressed at being stuck at home and not seeing our son. My almost 3 year old is the light of their lives. They used to see him numerous times a week, plus watched him every Wednesday. The pictures and videos that I would send every day, plus the numerous Facetimes we would do a week just wasn't cutting it.
We will probably give it 2 weeks, then have my mom over. She doesn't leave the house either and honestly I am not sure she would even be willing to come over. My dad I am unsure of. He lives on his own as well, but he has people in his house today to do some work, they were there all day yesterday too. He goes out to go shopping while my ILs and my mom have groceries delivered.

i'm really surprised at how many people are seeing family... being genetically or legally related doesn't make you immune if they are asymptomatic.we are following shelter in place, being with just those who live in our household, until the governor says otherwise.
