That netting was a chipboard piece It's very nice. I was thinking all those large wood veneer pieces would be quite expensive. I'll have to give Southern Ridge Trading Company a look when I want some more paper products. We mowed and started the posts in the garden yesterday. Today, after work, we're hoping we'll be able to take the pool cover off. DH said he'd like to have it opened by the weekend. Yay!

Hello, ladies. I met kellyr21 earlier this month in a google hangout here. Then she mentioned this thread in a post so I thought I’d check it out. I have never really ventured over to this area of the board. I usually just post in the Ali Edwards thread. I’d love to join you all next month. All of the layouts posted in this thread are great! I feel inspired to make something today!

You can join us ANY TIME! We are a group of chatty scrappers. I love that this is one of the threads on the General Scrapbooking board that encourages talk about our creative adventures AND our personal struggles and achievements. We encourage each other and cheer each other on. Some months we get more done than others, but that's okay. I am a grandmother (duh! you can tell that from my Pea name ) who lives on a farm in northeastern Alberta, Canada. I have 11 dgk's who occupy most of my pages. Only one of them is a frequent visitor at the farm, and I am really missing my trips to Calgary ( a 5-6 hour drive) and abbotsford (a 3 hour drive and a 1 1/2 hour flight) to catch up with the others and have some one-on-one time with them (and the photos to prove it). Would love to meet you on one of the weekend Hangouts! So thankful that msliz and kitbop are keeping them going each weekend. Tell us about yourself. We'd love to get to know you.

janesays- WELCOME!!!! SO happy to see you here! We would love for you to hang out with us here and go at your pace. I am a very "pokey" pea when it comes to scrapbooking. LOL! So no pressure! I look forward to getting to know you. As grammadee gave an introduction, I will do the same. I am a native Californian, married to Ron for 14 years and an all-around artsy craftsy gal.

Oh gosh you all are SO NICE.......♥️ thanks for making me feel welcome already. I can’t wait to get to know all of you here.
I’m a born and raised Texan. My husband and I have two sons. Our oldest left the nest about a year ago and our other son is in high school. I’ve been scrapbooking on and off since 2004, but I pretty much stopped completely in 2015. I just got busy with other things. Last fall I decided that I really wanted to get back into it because I have so many supplies and I just really missed it. So far this year I started making a 2020 project life album and I completed a Week In The Life album last weekend. It’s time for me to get started on some traditional layouts now. Im feeling excited about making layouts and making friends right here 😊

Happy Thursday! It is a nice warm and sunny day here. I got a lot done this week and hope to finish up feeling satisfied. Tomorrow is my birthday! It is gonna be weird to have a quarantine birthday but we will make the best of it!!! I'll be 53!!! Yes, really! LOL! I worked on a mini, mini album last night. It turned out so cute! I will share it and I am working on some new art. My tutorial card video I told some of you about looks ok but now that I understand the whole process better, I want to re-record tomorrow. I can't wait to share it. janesays- Nice to hear about your family. Scrapbooking is my on and off passions. Since it is just me and my dh, I run out of photo ideas for new pages and I get bored with seeing us here there and everywhere. LOL! So I just scrap when I have something special to document and/or just in the mood to do it. Waving hello to all you peas and have a nice rest of the day!

Welcome to janesays ! We are always happy to have new Pokeys joining us. Some of us ( grammadee & justjac ) are not very Pokey, but others are. We don't care whether you are Pokey or Speedy, we are just here to encourage each other. I'm happy to meet you and I noticed that we have birthdays only 1 day apart. I think that makes us some kind of May sisters. LOL I'm sorry I missed others on the Hangout. My DD called from Calif and I could tell she needed to chat, so I had to hang up. I am a wife and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. We have 4 children and 14 grandchildren. 3 are married and one couple has a baby girl. I love scrapping and have been making scrapbooks for many years. We have all of our children in the valley except one who lives in CA. I hope all the other Pokeys will introduce themselves. I don't know where this week has gone. I have been sewing masks for Em's family because her girls were called back to work and had to have masks. She picked out fun fabrics. Alex's mask has flames. He thinks that's fabulous. We have also taken some long drives, just to get out of the house. On Tues I spent all day in SLC seeing the Infectious Disease Dr. She didn't really have answers, but is making appts with 2 other Drs. for me. Right now I feel great, so I hope that continues. Yesterday was Ashley's graduation, an outdoor 1 minute each walk through to get their diploma. I decorated the front of their home while they were with Ashley. We made posters and tied balloons all around. She had a great day. I have ignored my scraproom and it now looks worse than it did on the video!! It was so much fun to meet justjac , grammadee , msliz and kitbop in the video. I will check out your newest layouts in the gallery, kellyr21 and grammadee . Sending hugs to all.

Welcome janesays! Don't let nylene fool you, she's not pokey either! I on the other hand am very pokey! As you can see by my username, I'm a grandma too, of one 5 yo DGS. I'm divorced, with two grown sons, who both have June b-days and will be 37 and 30. Omg I don't even know how that happened! lol. I live in Kansas City MO and work in the RV industry. I scrap mostly pretty much only traditional LO's. Join in on the team challenges if you feel up to it, they're fun and motivating! Ugh. We have paid he price for the long weekend this week just as I knew we would! It's still nothing like normal since so many campgrounds are still closed. My sewing machine came today. But no fabric so now I need to get some cheap practice fabric. I haven't sewn since high school so this should be interesting lol. kellyr21 I enjoyed reading your blog and how cool that you still have our first diary! I remember my first diary, the little books with a lock. I remember writing in that every day after school lol. nylene, Ashley's graduation sounds wonderful, all things considered. I'm so glad she had a great day! Not sure I'll be able to make it for a hangout this weekend, but I want to soon. I don't get much done, but it's fun to hangout and meet new peas. I hope everyone is having a good week!

Happy Friday! Hello, janesays, welcome to the Pokeys. I go in spurts of being pokey or prolific. Right now, I'm quite pokey. Also I'm a mainly digital scrapper with only a few traditional pages for the last couple of years. I've been a sahm since my now teens were babies. We have a "farm" (it's really a little homestead in need of lots of work and 50 acres) in the northern mitten of Michigan, but we moved last year to the southern part of Michigan. Of course, we couldn't get a house that didn't need any work. Mostly cosmetic though. I homeschooled until high school. Now my ds & dd attend a Christian online school. I have a niece that lives outside of Austin (she has 3 babies) and one that lives outside of Dallas. Oh, and kellyr21, forgot to mention that she's a very talented painter as well. nylene, I'm sure having the porch decorated helped Ashley celebrate the day so much. It's so nice that they still had a walk across. I hope you continue to feel good and the doctors can figure out what's going on. joyfulnana, yay for the sewing machines arrival!! My dd was just saying she needed to sew yesterday. School unfortunately wipes her out and there is not time, but the nicer weather seems to get her more motivated. It's all set up and ready for her to go though. She wants to sew pockets into -- well everything. She constantly laments on the lack of decent pockets in womens wear. I got my garden plants in the other day, finishing right as it started to rain. How fortuitous that was. It's been sort of overcast with light drizzles since. Yay. I still have 2 plants to put out. Plus I'd like to sow some direct seeds, but I'm good if this is all that goes out. We put in tomatoes, basil, cucumbers (I need to put up sauce, pickles, pickle relish, and pesto this year) and a couple of squash, broccoli and cauliflower. Our CSA switched their box subscription around due to COVID-19 restrictions on farmers markets. I'll be able to buy more vegetables from them and a greater variety of vegetables too. DH's work has taken a lot out of him this week. So no pool opening has been completed. He promises Saturday. Sunday he and DS have to go to MIL's and put in their dock. @kellr21, Happy Birthday! On the birthday thread today, I chose the shabby chic cake in honor of you and your beautiful cards.

Good Friday morning, Pokeys! Good to hear from so many of you. Looking forward to checking in on msliz's Saturday evening Hangout, and hoping to see some of you there, too. Happy birthday, kellyr21! So many May babies! Looking forward to seeing your new art. The mini album sounds fun. I keep meaning to get back to my 6x8" album about me, but it just keeps sitting there, looking at me with sad eyes... I took a selfie yesterday with the spring flowers behind me (shared in the May Photo thread), so maybe that will get me back into that little book. Another item I want to put into it is the beautiful card that justjac gave me last time I saw her. That one should be easy, since justjac has done all the work for that page, and I have a photo of her for the facing page, so alot of real estate for a 2-pager already completed! What a wonderful thing to do for your dgd's grad, nylene. We have cancelled our flights to BC for our dgd's grad June 10th. As of a couple of weeks ago, the plan was that the families would be out in the parking lot watching the cap & gown ceremony on a big screen and that they would be getting a video of the event. I am hoping they get photos, too. Ddil has promised they will also do a photo shoot with dgd in her prom dress, but those have yet to be taken I think. Gramma Dee needs PICTURES to scrap! Have fun with your new sewing machine, joyfulnana. I have not sewn much since my kids were small. Dd used my sewing machine when she was in high school for one of her classes. Then she got the sewing bug shortly after graduating from university. She wanted to take the machine she was familiar with, and bought me a new one to replace it. That new machine has not been out of my closet more than once or twice since. And I am not sure if hers has had much more use! Yay on your garden planting, LisaDV. My bedding plants are still in their greenhouse containers. They spent their first night outside last night on the garden wagon, but I don't plan to set them into the garden until at least Monday. Plan to put the cuke and pumpkin and bean seeds into the ground then too. Dh is planning to work those spots up again today. I had a flurry of scrapping last weekend after getting photos printed, but have not scrapped anything now since Tuesday. Wednesday I had to do a bunch of errands, including picking up a bunch of things for Dh. I had hoped to meet up with justjac at her home afterward (it was too chilly and windy to meet in their back yard or in the restaurant parking lot), but I did not feel comfortable making personal contact after being in all the places I had been, especially since the clerks in one store seemed completely oblivious to COVID dangers, so I decided to just chat on the phone and I headed home. Managed to stop to print the rest of my backlog of photos. Took three sessions, one batch each, but I managed to get them all printed. And that little store is SMART! Right next to the photo kiosks is their eclectic collection of scrapbooking supplies. And so, while I was waiting for photos to upload and later to print, I managed to pick up some cool glitter letter stickers, thickers, a small page kit, and... So that managed to turn my frown upside down... Hoping to play with my photos--and maybe some of the new stuff--this weekend.

Happy Friday! Thanks for all the birthday love!!! I am having a good day and hope to continue to celebrate the whole weekend! LisaDV that cake is fabulous and I am pretending to eat a piece! LOL! Here is a Spring wreath I finished this week. I started it at M's before the quarantine and never finished it. So this week, I picked it up and decided to add a few more flowers and the ribbon and call it a day. Now it is on my front door. Spring Wreath by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr nylene- What a fun thing to do for you dgd!!! I can't believe how fast those kids are growing up. grammadee- Your double pages in the gallery from the Hawaii trip are so lovely! It is nice to look at pictures from a fun trip now. Mood booster for sure. joyfulnana- It is fun looking at some of my pre-teen times and the funny things I said and did. Great you got a sewing machine! What types of things are you planning on making? I want to circle back to mine this year. I was planning to take a sewing class earlier this year. Maybe I can take it next year when things settle down. LisaDV- Your garden is gonna be good. I am feeling like growing something this Summer. You know that sweet potato that sprouted I showed you all? Well, my dh is so fascinated by it we still have it and it's like a plant now! LOL! I wanted to throw it away and he was like, "No, let's keep in longer!" LOL! Waving hi to you all and have a good rest of the day!

kellyr21, if you really like making videos, I'd love some of your gorgeous wreaths. I'd like to make a collection for the front door for each season and/or holiday. I do hope you celebrate all weekend. grammadee, that store is smart! I hope you get to play with your new goodies and photos this weekend. It was drizzling this morning so I didn't get out for a walk. This afternoon my DS tagged along for my walk. A FAT out of shape, short 50 year old trying to keep up with a 6'1' (maybe 2") long legged in shape 17 year old had me quite winded. He was good about slowing down. I told him if I kept this up, by next year I'd be able to keep up with him. I've got a long way to go but I have made 8 days in a row. But I tell ya' plantar fasciitis is not my friend at all today. The uneven roadways really make it flare up. DS was walking in the "pathway" next to the road. I didn't want him on the outside. But dang. Now I remember why I was walking in that little section. I'm icing, stretching and massaging my foot to help it everyday and most days even with the walking it's been fine. And having DS with me is worth a little pain. I hope I will be able to join in one of the hangouts. I guess we have more owls than larks on this board. My family tend to be owls so the evenings is usually when they're wanting something. Me - I'm a lark. I'd much rather do things first thing in the day. I might try to see about maybe scrapping something now. lol I sound so determined, don't I?! --Not.

Hello, Sweet Pokeys! Wishing our kellyr21 a Fabulous Quarantine Birthday!. It really changes plans, doesn't it? We figured out that 11 of our family members had Quarantine B-Days this year plus Ashley's graduation. This will be a year to remember...I hope. I don't want it to always be this way. LisaDV , I hope your feet get better and the walking becomes easier. It sounds like you have a good start on your garden. Our flowers are blooming and will soon drape over our pots. I hope you can get your pool going this weekend. Have you had some hot days? What sewing projects does your DD want to make? Is she adding pockets to premade clothes, or starting from scratch and including pockets. grammadee , I marvel at all you get done. I'm glad you got the photos printed and a little scrappy shopping at the same time. I understand about some of the workers who are ignoring the Covid virus. I had to go get more elastic and I was the only one in a mask. I dashed in, did the self check-out and dashed out. Children were running their hands over all the shelves and mothers didn't say anything. My DH says his mask is his Badge of Honor and he's happy to wear it if it protects others. joyfulnana , I thought about you last weekend as we found ourselves in the middle of hundreds of RV's on the freeway in Salt Lake. I hope you will be less busy until the next holiday. Nearly all of the campgrounds around here are open. I'm glad your machine came and I hope you love it. My DD is needing a new one or a repair job. She made masks and it just quit on her one day. I hope you can get fabric. I wish I could hand you enough to make a couple of masks. kellyr21 , I have enjoyed your blog. Thank you for the links you have included. That wreath is lovely. I would love to watch a video of how to make your pretty wreaths too. I hope you have a wonderful day today...and all weekend. patin , thinking of you and your family. Hugs from all of us. I missed the post about another Hangouts weekend. I'll go check it out. I hope to get on again to"meet" more of you. It depends on what DH has in mind for the weekend. He has wanted to take a ride into the canyon to get us out of the house. ETA: I can't find a note about a Hangouts session this weekend. Did anyone else see one? There is one for last weekend.

ETA: I can't find a note about a Hangouts session this weekend. Did anyone else see one? There is one for last weekend. I think I saw a post that either msliz or kitbop were planning on starting a Hangout at 7:00PM Eastern on Saturdays each week from now on, but I can't find it now. Keep your eyes open for a thread opening up b/c sometimes others start sessions earlier. Once one is started, all the links for that weekend are usually included in the same thread.

grammadee, nylene, msliz...Honestly, the google hangouts are almost the only time I get to my scrapspace these days, and I'm clinging to them! Hoping some peas are around tomorrow aft/evening. I'm available LisaDV, hope you can drop in some evening, but if you are up to a morning session some day we should totally arrange one! I'd be there!!! I just need encouragement to scrap! I'm so sorry about your feet...BTDT...miserable. @kellyr - you should pop the potato in a pot with some dirt and see how far it goes!!! What a fabulous scrap opportunity Your wreath is gorgeous. We too are doing quarantine birthdays and voice recitals and dance recitals etc. It's great to read different perspectives and ideas to address them. DD's dance friends and school friends have actually merged to plan a birthday parade for her... I was so moved when I got the email from one of them! I think we'll make goodie bags (or cupcakes and pop, or something!) and hand them to them through the window of their cars as they go by. And tie a bunch of helium balloons to our 17 year old while she stands in the front yard! joyfulnana - I love my sewing machine, even tho I don't "sew". I inherited my Nana's sewing box when she passed away. It includes about 198 colours of thread, many on wood spools. I actually regret when I use one up, they are priceless. But they are no good sitting in a box, and she'd be glad to know they're in use. Glad you got machine and can have fun exploring with it! Welcome janesays! I find this thread often feels like I've lost control...if I get "behind" on "what's up with whom" I am frantically trying to read back and comment appropriately... silly of me Just jump in an say hi when you can!

Happy Birthday nylene and kellyr21! I hope you both had a glorious day! patin, I will keep you and your family in my prayers. LisaDV & kellyr21, I am going to have to invest in the window a/c. I really like the Dyson fan but when the temps get high outside, it doesn't help that much. Since the Dyson fan has a heat option, it will be nice in the winter. nylene, I haven't had to take care of any COVID patients. We have a special unit and a team of nurses that signed up to work that unit. Our census has went closer to our normal since surgeries have restarted. It seems we haven't had a large amount of patients on the COVID unit. It seems to be 5 patients or less when I check. Our county had a jump of 20 cases in a day just recently. janesays, Welcome!! Glad to have you here! I didn't take notes when I was reading all the post so I may have missed something. I didn't realize it had been a couple of weeks since I have been on the board. I have Saturday off but the work Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Then I am off for 3 weeks! I can't wait! I hope to relax and get some organizing done. And also to ride my bike! It is almost 2am and should get to bed. I ended up sleeping to much today that I am still awake. I will have to see about joining in on a Hangout if I can.

Happy Saturday! knutschen, yeah, I don't think a fan would work for a top floor space in your climate. You need an air conditioner. I have two portables at the farm. The con is they are heavy and take up floor space. The pro is they are easy to set up and you can move them around without hassle unlike the window units. You still vent them through the window though. Here's some information. www.goodhousekeeping.com/appliances/g21286604/best-portable-air-conditioner/bestreviews.com/best-portable-air-conditionersI bought mine at Home depot. www.homedepot.com/b/Heating-Venting-Cooling-Air-Conditioners-Portable-Air-Conditioners/N-5yc1vZc4m4?experienceName=defaultStay safe at work. And tie a bunch of helium balloons to our 17 year old while she stands in the front yard! That would be so great! I can't wait to see that scrapbook page!! It’s nice to know there is someone around who’d get together earlier. Maybe I should see if there is interest on the board for other earlier birds. nylene, here’s the thread for this weekend. 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/107872/30-31-virtual-crop. It usually doesn’t pop up until late Friday or early Saturday. But as grammadee has stated that this will be ongoing every weekend for now. I can’t wait to see a photo of your flowers draping over the pot. They really say summer to me. Luckily, it’s just my left foot that has issues. DD wants to add pockets to clothes she already has. She also has a dress pattern and material to make from scratch. We got started on the pool opening last night. Yay! DH still has stuff to do today. However, I was told yesterday by DS that I should make homemade pasta and alfredo sauce today. When I make my meal plans, I always ask for ideas. That was his request for this week, and I haven't made it yet. So if I’m not needed I’ll be in the kitchen. I did start a page yesterday afternoon.

I have two portables at the farm. The con is they are heavy and take up floor space. The pro is they are easy to set up and you can move them around without hassle unlike the window units. I'll ditto this recommendation! It's easy to move on one level (wheels) but I recommend 2 people on stairs (one for the unit, one for the light but unwieldy tube) and while I can carry it up, I prefer to let one of the muscle bound men manage it We're going to buy a 2nd unit from costco so we can keep one upstairs, one downstairs - they had good prices recently. We vent ours through the patio door in our kitchen, easy peasy. LisaDV , I agree, lets put feelers out on the board if people would join a morning crop? Just for planning purposes, next weekend I'm out...have to work. Speaking of work knutschen, glad your unit is getting back to "normal"! We are starting elective surgeries this week. We did have up to 20 people with covid in our hospital but this week hit 0 one day! Seems like 1-2 are still trickling around. I did have to provide service to some of them which felt strange because you go in like they are aliens and then realize they're just the same people as everyone else... Good news: NO STAFF in our hospital caught covid from a patient. We did have some staff pick it up in the community. And one of them - a nurse - was the LEAST compliant, always walking around with her mask around her chin (you know the look). GRRRR! Now she's back to work. And STILL keeping her mask off her mouth/nose!

Good morning Pokeys. Dh has gone to pick up some stuff from the hardware store, so I have a bit of time alone at home. Didn't know this was going to happen so I have no plans for it. Think I will try to put together a couple of pages in my 6x8 book--have an idea for that.
After much consultation with the weather app's on my dh's phone, it has been decided he and I will be setting out the garden plants--tomatoes, cabbage, etc--after supper tonight, so I won't be able to drop in on the evening Hangout. There is supposed to be up to an inch of rainfall over the next couple of days which will help the little plants get settled into their new homes.
Okay--must do some crafting while the crafting is good... Have a great Saturday! And a wonderful Hangout!

LisaDV, thanks for the links! I am going to do some research and I may need to rearrange my room a bit to make this work. My room is pretty small so I shouldn't need a big one. I need to measure just to be sure of my square footage. kitbop, that is good that no one has gotten covid from taking care of a patient. We have had to do education and it is quite extensive the PPE we use. We have some staff that will wear their mask into patients room but not at the nurses station. We are all sitting less than an arms length away. Stay safe! My nights and days are all mixed up but since I work tonight and it is my 1st of 3 shifts, I took a nap yesterday afternoon and then was up all night. I hope to head to bed soon. DH is up so I can now stretch out in bed! LOL! I missed the hangout last night. Hopefully, I can catch it next weekend.
