This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

Happy June, everyone!
We put all our bedding plants out yesterday. Last night we got almost an inch of rain. It was accompanied by high winds, though, and I think a few hail stones. I am almost afraid to go out and check on those poor things that must have felt very socially distanced and afraid out there in the dark after so many nights tucked safely together in the safety of our garage!
Will check back with you later...

at your description of your plants, grammadee ! I hope they are okay. Thanks for the new thread, nylene .
Happy June.
I was saying all through May that I needed to create a birthday banner at the very least, and maybe some decor since DH's 50th will be in June and he'll be SIP (no party ). I finally went to my silhouette library yesterday to get the banner and size it. Then to my cardstock....To do each banner in 2 colors and multiple colors within the banner I needed to order more cardstock. Luckily with prime, it should be here tomorrow. DD did not win the 10th grade rep. She's a bit disappointed but she'll be looking for other opportunities to serve the school, so that good. I have a bit of push mowing trimming to do and since I'll be working on some papercrafting, maybe I'll clean up the craft room. It becomes a dumping ground for everything else. I have clean bedding I haven't folded, some paper work and mail that needs to be handled, and things to put away from my last foray into paper scrapbooking. Putting away digital supplies is so much easier.

Putting away digital supplies is so much easier. LOL, LisaDV , this made me laugh out loud. Maybe I should switch to digital by the looks of my scraproom. I hope you can get some scrappy time this week. I'm sorry your DD was defeated in the election. I'm sure she can find other ways to be of service. grammadee , best wishes for the little bedding plants to still be safely tucked in their beds. It was fun scrapping on Hangouts Sat. evening. I hope to meet others one of these weekends. I finished a layout this morning that I worked on and completed the cards I started. I'll post them in the gallery.

Hello, hello! I’m really excited to challenge myself to some sort of layout this week. And then actually post it here. That will be fun! I also feel nervous too! grammadee I feel like I want to give all your plants a hug. Hope they didn’t sustain any damage. LisaDV Making a banner sounds fun. I haven’t made one in several years. I hope you share it when you’re done. I’d love to see it. I need to clean up my craft room a little too. nylene I knew I should have tried to get on hangouts over the weekend. Would have loved to meet you. I’ll have to join in again soon. I spent the weekend sifting through and organizing all my scrapbooking supplies that really need to be sold. You should have seen my dining room. It was a disaster. I had stuff everywhere and all over the floor. I really don’t want to go through the hassle of selling. I’m still trying to decide what to do with it all. It’s a pain. I have changed my profile picture a couple of times recently and just couldn’t decide what I wanted. Last night, I found a bag of paper rosettes leftover from a project I made a long time ago. Remember those? Well that’s my profile picture now Hope you all are having a good day so far!

janesays, I love your new avatar with the rosettes. They remind me that FINALLY it is time to see spring and summer flowers. I really miss flowers through the winter. Never be afraid to post your layouts/projects here. You will find only encouragement. I hope to meet you on the Hangouts one of these weekends. I only stayed Sat. for a little over an hour and then DH came in and said there were riots in Salt Lake. I decided to go watch. I just don't understand the thinking behind riots!

Happy June! LisaDV, I have a birthday banner I made about 15 years ago that still gets hung for many birthdays. This week, I really have to focus on getting my DD a present, and figuring out what "goodie bags" we're going to hand out to her car-parade participants! grammadee - I killed 4 tomato plants and my basil by putting them out too early... I'm a slow learner apparently. I haven't been able to find any zucchini or cucumbers to plant at all! It's frustrating- I'm the one who gardens EVERY year, and these HOBBYISTS are gobbling up my plants!!! nylene - I'm looking forward to Saturday too. The riots are awful. I support the protest and cause. I hate that there are opportunists and violent people who take advantage to further their own agenda/intentions.

nylene, I with your paper piecing expertise, I think you would not find digital enjoyable. janesays, I like your avatar rosettes. Now you can use them on a page. I can commiserate with the mess of sorting. I'm currently in the middle of sorting out recipes. I have binders of printed recipes. But I have been just taking them out to use over the last several years and only putting a few back. Plus I have many new ones with DD's various diets she's had over the years for health reasons. Plus I like to try new recipes. Over a foot tall stack of unfiled recipes. I want to get them all really well organized. I'm just spending a few minutes each day on a 6' folding table, but I really need another table. I may have to take over the dining table and just get them sorted. I'm the one who gardens EVERY year, and these HOBBYISTS are gobbling up my plants!!! We didn't garden last year with the move, but YES! Luckily my CSA grew some plants to sell. But man, I am missing the farm garden. I was just going to put out some tomatoes (10), basil(12), and cucumbers(6). Because I really need to put up sauce, pesto, pickles, and pickle relish. Of course, it would be nice to have a few broccoli(4), cauliflower(4), and I'm almost out of room in my small garden. DH is laughing because he says it's still not a small garden compared to most people. I hope to direct sow some kohlrabi today and maybe some radishes if I have any seeds. Hopefully we'll get the rain they're forecasting for tonight and tomorrow. The riots are awful. I support the protest and cause. I hate that there are opportunists and violent people who take advantage to further their own agenda/intentions. Couldn't have said this better. My CSA starts delivering this week. Since they're not doing farm markets, they have set up a new system on a platform called Harvie. It's awesome. I can swap out items. I can add extra items. They're usually a little light on vegetables for us so this is fabulous. They're always heavy on greens, but that's okay with us too. But this week, they're giving us stinging nettle. I used dried nettle in dishes and make a herbed salt with it, but never have eaten it fresh before. I'm a bit excited. I found a nettle and cheddar tart recipe to try. Of course, the recipe calls for creme fraiche and I have to go into Whole Foods to the the right type of whipping cream to make it. So I guess I'll be venturing into the wilds today. Have any of you ever had fresh stinging nettle? Favorite recipe? Okay, guess I'll get going since I have a lot to get done.

Happy Tuesday! Hope you all are doing well today. I had a nice birthday weekend. Thanks for all the well wishes. I had my favorite red velvet cupcakes, watched "Pride & Prejudice" and had lots of play time on my craft table. We did take a little drive around town as a little break from the non action. LOL! There is this newer home we call the "hotel" house because it is so big and wide. Sometimes we go over there and just sit and relax. The home is beautiful and the neighborhood is tranquil. I will post a pic or a lo on this house. We watched them build it and I wish I could get a tour of the home. I've been making these mini journals I saw this guy make on YouTube, I did a video about it and hope to publish it this week. They are so cute and fun to make. Oh, I missed the Hangout last weekend. I had planned to get on with you gals on Sunday but ran out of time. So, I hope to get on this weekend, msliz. grammadee- I hope your little plants made it through! nylene- Oh, I missed you again on the Hangouts!!! I hope we can see each other soon. Thanks for our new thread, too. LisaDV- I am proud of your dd even having the courage to run for office. She is a star! janesays- Your rosettes are so pretty! I have gone through lots of my supplies and just need more space for it all. I just work on my 6ft table and sometimes it's a "hot mess." LOL! Waving hello to you all and have a good day!

ahhh I hope your plants are ok although I lol'd at your description of them grammadee That's a bummer for DD LisaDV but kudos to her for trying! That would take some courage for me. Digital supplies ARE easier to put away, but alas, I'm married to paper lol. I used to print new recipes I wanted to try and had binders of them. I have so much paper around here it feels like, (not only pretty paper either lol) I would totally have put off the banner until the last minute, because I procrastinate like that lol. The riots are awful. I support the protest and cause. I hate that there are opportunists and violent people who take advantage to further their own agenda/intentions. This sums up exactly how I feel as well. I'm hoping to join in on another hangout soon. Would love to see you nylene and LisaDV. Mornings sometimes work better for me on weekends. They are putting a new roof on my building and have turned off the A/C. of course it's in the 90's this week too. The landlord put a window unit in the bedroom, and with that and several fans running to circulate the air,it's staying pretty cool. The living areas get pretty warm by the end of the day, so I have moved some of my stuff to the bedroom to scrap. I guess I shouldn't complain too much about the weather. The more dry days, the sooner the roofers will be done! Happy Belated Birthday kellyr21! I'm glad you had an awesome weekend!

Good Wednesday morning, Pokeys! Glad you had a nice birthday, kellyr21. Glad you are continuing to add to your videos and blogs and that you are staying crafty. Love that you are having so much FUN! Can't wait to see your mini journals. Is your dh still working from home? Or is he back at his place of work? Too bad about your dd's election, LisaDV, but I am sure she knows how proud you are of her for putting her name into the race. Glad she hasn't let that stop her from getting involved in other ways. Will your pool be ready by this weekend? The provincial parks are open this week here, so access to the local lakes will be opened as well. Dd is planning on bringing out one of their kayaks and leaving it here for the summer. If the weather cooperates, we may go to a lake nearby to have them take it out on the water before having a weiner roast. Good luck with your banner. The last one I made was a general Happy Birthday chipboard banner which my ddil saved from year to year when the girls were small. It didn't have many layers: just paint, then the letter, then mod podge, and maybe some embellishments added on with brads. Sad that you can't put in the garden you want to do, kitbop. Can you get cucumber and zucchini SEEDS? They grow really fast when the weather is warm. I have not put those seeds into the garden yet. Was hoping to do that when the ground dried a bit, but it is raining again this morning, so... But people say they have planted those seeds as late as June 10th and have still had good luck with them around here. Not sure how much longer I can wait and still have pumpkins produce before the frost, but I am still hopeful. janesays, I love your avatar: so pretty. I have not changed mine for at least 8 years. Used to change it every season, but just found it too techy for me. I would rather be crafting or chatting! Glad you are feeling the crafting bug and hope to see your creations here. Good job on getting your sorting done. I need to do some organizing in here today. Not changing anything around, just getting the mound of paper back in its containers where it belongs. I also have a couple of piles on the floor, and yesterday I spilled a small pot of sequins all over everything. I picked up as many as I had patience for, but if I want to vacuum up the rest, I need to move the other stuff down there. Hope they get the roof done soon, joyfulnana, and the AC back on. I will try to drop in on the Saturday Hangout again this week. Dd & dgs will be here, so I won't be attempting to do any crafting, but I would love to chat for a bit. Thinking we will be here at home on Saturday b/c it is supposed to rain again. I think Friday is the day we will attempt the trip out to the lake. Today it is raining, but more a steady shower than a storm. My plants don't look any worse than they usually do after the shock of being put out in the elements. The good news is that I don't have to go out there and hand water every day. Not looking forward to being out there in the rain at all, but the guy from "Invisible Fence" is coming to install today. Basically he will use gps to establish a boundary for our adventurous dogs. Then we need to take the dogs out to various points along the boundary for them to experience the discomfort of getting close to it. Once we have done that, he will set the intensity of it and hopefully they will lose the urge to leave our yard. They have 7 to 10 acres here: they SHOULD be happy. Not sure why they suddenly decided to go on adventures this spring. The fencing is a big expense, but it will be a huge relief if it works: way too much stress looking for them and worrying about them. Gotta go if I am going to stow some of this clutter away before our fence adventure...

Will your pool be ready by this weekend? DS went in the last 2 nights. Pool is open. Still a bit chilly for me though. Are you putting an invisible fence around 7-10 acres??? kellyr21, which Pride and Prejudice did you watch? I seem to have to watch the one with Colin Firth at least once every 18 months. I usually end up re-reading the book right after. joyfulnana, yay for another morning person. I'll go put up a feeler on the general scrapping board.

Can you get cucumber and zucchini SEEDS? I hope so - I'm heading to the local store that I know has a couple of racks of seeds left. The garden centres are wiped out, but this is more a grocery store with some garden stuff that is less well known. Cross your fingers for me. Glad to hear that you know of success stories planting this late. I seem to have to watch the one with Colin Firth at least once every 18 months. I usually end up re-reading the book right after. Me too, although I think I need to give longer periods between watchings otherwise I find myself fast-forwarding through scenes. I don't really like the movie, except Mr. and Mrs. Bennet who I much preferred to the BBC series! I have 2 days off work now. I always have good intentions to do some scrapbooking with my coffee in the mornings, but with the sun shining I feel I should get my chores done first, including gardening and ordering a present for DD's birthday on Monday!!!

I went down a "rabbit hole" looking for a particular piece of paper and ended up spending all day yesterday and today really purging old scrapbook stuff. If my scraproom was a disaster before, it is more of a disaster today. I feel good about what I have done, but need at least another day of digging to get through everything. I will count my hours for organizing. I also made a few quick cards to send to grands and friends. I will post those later. joyfulnana , I hope they finish your roof soon. The noise of re-roofing drives me crazy. I am hoping ours is now good for another 20 years. Will you have any Rudy time this weekend? kitbop , best wishes for finding the seeds you need. This is such a strange year. Our tomatoes are doing well. That's the extent of our garden this year. janesays , if I get on Hangouts this weekend, it will probably have to be from another room. I don't have even 6 inches of space for my ipad right now. I am hoping this evening and one more day will get this to the point that I can start putting things away where I want them. I hope you can get on this weekend. I'd love to meet you. kellyr21 , I look forward to seeing your mini albums. It's nice to see you blogging and crafting and having fun. LisaDV , I hope you enjoy your pool once it gets warmer. It's too cold here most days for swimming. grammadee , I understand about the sequins. I spilled a whole big container of jewels. After shoveling up and picking up most of them I went for the vacuum. I have enough to last for 40 lifetimes anyway. What a great idea to teach the dogs about the boundaries before really turning the fence on. Gotta run. DH needs to take letter to the P.O. and send it registered mail. Be back later.

DS went in the last 2 nights. Pool is open. Still a bit chilly for me though. I'm jealous of the pool. However, I have said ever since I was a teenager that I would NEVER own a house with a pool. The upkeep, and the dangers, scare me. We had a youngster drown in my neighbourhood when I was young, and it's never left me. But we are a water loving family! My oldest and youngest would be swimming no matter how cold. My middle boy has never dealt with cold well. When he was a baby his feet and hands would turn blue swimming at the local (indoor) pool and his teeth would be chattering. And he has never changed! Seeds update: found zucchini plants! The plant guy warned me... "they're yellow zucchini"... Like there's a difference Found cucumber seeds and decided to do a couple of rows of rapini too! I love rapini and had never thought of it, we've always just done broccoli. So my garden is planted, although a teeny bit behind. I tried hard not to crowd things this year. I always end up crowding my tomato plants and then dealing with a jungle.

Linda, I had noticed you hadn't been posting anywhere much, I hope everything is ok! I've been wondering about patin too, your family is still in my thoughts! kitbop I was the kid with the blue lips and chattering teeth too! Oh that brings back some memories lol. Congrats on getting your garden in! I always intend to spend my days off crafting, and I seldom do because I let all the other things get in the way. grammadee is the invisible fence up? How are the dogs doing with that? LisaDV late morning through late afternoon are my best times to scrap. Work gets in the way of that. a LOT! lol. I'll definitely be there Sunday morning. I love these virtual crops so much. This weekend is the shower, and I am still wresting with that. I hate to disappoint everyone by not going, but man, it looks like a virus disaster in the making. I finally cracked my little bubble open last weekend to see DS2 - we had some carry out and sat in a park, as semi socially distance visit. It was so good to see him. But now I'm on self quarantine for 14 days (which kind of lets the shower out) so no seeing Rudy until next week. He was super tired last night and wanted to come over and had a bit of a meltdown because he couldn't. I miss him too. But his parents have been so vigilant about keeping themselves isolated that my DS won't risk me around yet. One of the guys at work said "One day you're fine, the next you aren't" which is very true and another reason to stay home as much as possible. nylene I've done that! I think I destroy and reorganize as an excuse not to get started scrapping lol. I've managed to get my sewing machine threaded and need to finish the DVD on what all the dials do, and then I think I'll be ready to put some fabric to it.

Good morning!(late morning) almost 11 here. Linda, glad to see you popping in. I'm sorry you are struggling with the SIP and, I think everyone can commiserate with the heartsickness over everything. patin, you are still in my prayers and on my mind. I'll see you Sunday, joyfulnana. Yay! Sorry you'll have to miss the shower. That would have a lasting impression, and I get the decision to not have a pool, kitbop. Our pool sizes have grown with the kids. This is the largest pool we have ever had and the deepest. DS is 17 (almost 18) and has started swimming without supervision this year. It scares me. I'm glad you got your garden in. I just hoed half my garden and finally got a few more things in. I was laughing because hoeing half the garden was like just one row at the farm garden. I would have done the whole garden but the mosquitoes are horrible!!! I put on repellent before I walked this morning (I've had to do that the last 3 mornings). Only today, they decided they didn't care and I was still getting bit. So I re-applied and did a heavier coat before doing the garden work. Nope, still they didn't care. I'm welped up all over. My first thought, of course, was I hope mosquitoes can't carry covid. DH is struggling with SIP at the moment because this weekend would have been their big yearly gaming weekend. Next weekend was suppose to be his 50th birthday party. Bluprint (used to be Craftsy) is going out of business. I'm a member, so I've been watching all those classes I've wanted to watch but never taken the time. I think I'll be making eclairs, cream puffs, and Gâteau very soon. Today I think I'll cut my banner pieces while I watch.

Good Friday evening, Pokeys!. Thanks for checking in, Linda. These days, when we don't hear from someone for awhile we start to worry. I have been thinking alot about patin and her husband and family as well. Sending virtual strength. Can your dh participate in a gaming weekend on line this time, LisaDV? I know it was a disappointment when he had to drop out of one they had planned before. Hope your banner turned out Would love to see it. You are welcome to come here any time if you miss hoeing! Yay on your plant/seed acquisitions, kitbop! My zuchini seeds are "black beauty" variety. I almost didn't seed them, but then read that they are actually dark green. I put my cukes and pumpkins and zucchini and bean seeds into the ground this evening. Even put in a few egg plants which I have never tried to grow before. The ground was not really dry enough, what with almost 2 inches of rain in the last week, but the forecast is for rain again Saturday until Tuesday, so that would have delayed me yet another week! BTW, the mosquitoes were out in force here this evening, too. I feel guilty saying that dd and dgs are here again for a few days. Feels like a forbidden pleasure. But with them here, I won't be taking part in the Hangouts this weekend. Dd had brought her kayak out here and we had hoped to get out to the lake this weekend, but the forecast does not make that sound likely. She will leave it here and take it out the next time they come. Dh has been tied up the last couple of days with a fencing project. Dd & dgs and I have been busy training the dogs--rain or shine. Taking them out on leashes with their shock collars on and teaching them to run home when they first hear the beeps. Kandi had a scare when she was off leash the other day. Had her collar on and blundered into the invisible fence. She panicked and ran ALONG the fence line for a bit before turning toward the house. She now refuses to go anywhere near the warning posts. But she has been playing on the yard with us, so much more relaxed this evening. Snoopy has been a bit slower to learn, but he seems much better at turning for home tonight. I can't wait until we can just turn them loose again in the yard and not have to worry where they are all the time. Okay. Time for me to crawl off to bed. Put on lots of miles today!

You are welcome to come here any time if you miss hoeing! Thanks for the offer. I think I'll be okay with less hoeing. Poor Kandi. I'm glad she's more relaxed now. I hope they learn quickly. Enjoy your weekend with DD & DGS. It's nice that you can get together.

Hi Pokeys! Thank you all for thinking about us. I have started to write this post a few times & just couldn't. My wonderful DH, Mike was ushered into Heaven on May 16. These last 3 weeks have seemed like an eternity. Due to the Pandemic, our Church is scheduling memorial services in August. I have been struggling with even having a service at that point, as I think it will feel somewhat like ripping off a band-aid. He was so loved. The tributes on Facebook have been so wonderful. We have received beautiful cards with stories about how Mike blessed others. I am usually ok during the day- I keep really busy,, but evenings & nights are really tough. I have been accepting any invitation I get to spend time with others. My kids have been great & have come down a couple of times. They get a lot a accomplished while they are here. We have sold his truck, flatbed trailer, tractor & our camping 5th wheel ( that one was tough for me, as we both loved camping.) I REALLY need a new vehicle, so that is why we have been so quick to sell these things. My bestie came & spent few days with me & that was nice. I am looking forward to getting back to scrapping . My BFF & I made cards while she was here. She is a total newbie & she loved it, so it won't be too long before I will get back to it. I am so glad we were able to take our #1 Bucket List trip to Italy last year. This is a photo of us at the Tivoli Gardens restaurant. Such joy!

Oh, patin , I have thought about you so much. You and your family are in my prayers. I am very sorry for the loss of your dear husband. I am glad you got to take that long trip together and that you have scrapped it to enjoy over and over. Thank you for taking the time to let us know. I am glad you have had your bestie and your kids around part of the time to be with you. I am sending you virtual hugs and a shoulder to cry on at any time. kellyr21 , your pages are so pretty and I love the heartfelt journaling on them. I just left a note to you one scrapbookdotcom, and will catch these in the gallery. It makes my heart happy to see you enjoying life and your art and creativity again. You have such a wonderful attitude. Lots of hugs to you. Linda , thank you for checking in. We worry when we don't hear from someone. I wondered if you were just "scanned, organized, and scrapped-out". You have had a lot to deal with the last few months. It's nice to know that you are ok and ready to do some scrapping. We were going stir-crazy on Sat. so drove up through the canyon to enjoy the sights. We stopped at a favorite little shop for a take-out milkshake (they make the best!) and came back home. It began to rain as we got into the canyon. Before long it was bucket loads coming down. I was glad it was still daylight and my wipers were doing the best job they could. We were drenched just getting into the house, but it was worth getting away. The drains at the end of our street and in our carport were open and working, so we didn't end up with a basement full of water. That was a concern as we were making our way down the canyon. It was fun scrapping with the Peas on Sat. I hope you had a bunch join you on Sunday, LisaDV . I need to get some things done. I will come back to chat later.
