Or was I dreaming it existed?
It was started by lindas and it was about interesting articles and I was going to read them but decided to do something else first.
And I came to read the articles and the thread appears to be gone.
It was only about 30 minutes ago the thread was here.
I think.

If it was started by lindas, she deleted it as it doesn’t show up in her posting history. Maybe it was started by someone else?

Lindas frequently posts on political threads. She is one of the few remaining right leaning peas who does.

One minute it was there and other people posted in it and then it was gone. Guess I won’t get to read the articles she posted.

I didn't know deleting a post was possible.

I didn't know deleting a post was possible. Click on the gear. It's one of the options (though only on the posts you have made, obviously). If you are the OP, and you delete before anyone has replied, the whole thread will vanish. But if you are the OP, people reply, and then you delete, all the replies stay. The original post will also remain in any reply that has quoted it.

I didn't know deleting a post was possible. Click on the cog in the upper right hand of your post. In the drop down menu is the option to “delete post.” It only shows up on the posts you wrote. We aren’t really supposed to use it here - kind of a scout’s honor kind of thing we decided early on.

Sorry, I missed that update from myboysnme, but if someone replied, then deleted their reply, and then the OP deleted, the thread will still vanish. Or if the OP replied to herself and deleted both, that would also remove the thread.

Sorry but you have the wrong person. I did not start or delete any thread, political or otherwise.

I found it lindas, it was a thread you started in August 2017. I just brought the thread forward from page 849, with what I’m sure is a confusing explanation on how I get on this site.

Ok, so you stumbled across a 3 yr old thread because of the way you google to get to this site. Why not explain that here, why was it necessary to resurface should an old thread just to explain how you found it, you could have just linked it here.

Moving it back up just to explain how you found it didn't make any sense to me.

My response if the circumstances were revered would have been “ glad you found it”.

How did something so innocuous turn into drama? This place never fails to amuse and perplex.

No need to look. The drama is because it was a right-wing article published days after the Charlottesville Neo-Nazi March which blamed it all on Obama first, the rest of the Democrats second. Even Fox News quickly moved beyond blaming the horror of Charlottesville on Obama, especially when Trump praised the Nazis and their sympathizers as “fine people” soon after this piece was published. Because, you know, if they were “fine people” (marching in my backyard), one certainly wouldn’t want to “blame” Obama for those “fine” racist white supremacist fucks. Because they were great people there, marching with torches and chanting anti-Semitic and racist chants, in addition to mowing down people with a Dodge Charger, killing a young woman. I’m sure that Linda didn’t want her thread to be resurrected after the right-wing narrative about that nightmare changed.
