Joann's is having a sale on their WRMK stamping platform: $26.59 for the platform, mat, magnets and a stamping block. I thought it was a good deal for a first purchase since I haven't been stamping much. I had to throw in a Tim Holtz "Cocktail" stamp set to make me feel better about the $7.99 flat rate shipping cost .
Anyone else make some fun purchases recently??

Not recently, but I did pick up a Tim H travel platform last year at TM. I was pleasantly surprised at how much my stamping has improved when using it. It’s so great to be able to restamp something without worrying about smearing or blurring.

Since getting the Tim Holtz stamp platform, I rarely stamp without it, and I stamp so much more because it is easier to get great stamped images.

I bought the small Crafter's Companion stamping platform. I love it. My images come out perfectly.

I went on a paper buying spree this weekend...not sure why because I haven't been scrapping much! I've looked at the stamp platforms before, but can't find a reason to commit. I also don't have room for anything more large things.
I did buy some crocheting supplies and kumihimo supplies for my youngest son. He learned how to do both in art class this year and really enjoyed them. I figured it would be something to keep him off his tablet/phone/XBox for a short time this summer... Hopefully he remembers how to do both of them (or can find some really good YouTube videos) because I don't know how to do either!

I had sworn off stamping until I got the Tim Holtz platform. It's still very basic images, but such a HUGE improvement. Especially when wanting to stamp in a specific place.

Anyone else make some fun purchases recently?? And to answer your question. I finally took the plunge and purchased some basic metal dies from Aliexpress. Also some word stamps. I really hope they work out. I only bought one, but there's quite a few more from that seller I like.

I have the wrmk platform and got the typeset plate and last week actually used it for a project at work. Poor souls didn't realize there was such a thing where you could spell out anything you wanted to stamp.
My fun purchases lately have been many rolls of foil to use with my minc. Creative Visions shop is closing at the end of the month, and she has the best foils and some of the most gorgeous colors . . .

I have several stamp presses that I made myself with two 8x10 acrylic sheets, a pair of hinges and use the mini WRMK magnetic platform duct taped on the INSIDE of the bottom 8x10 sheet. Works great. But I went nuts when I FINALLY got the WRMK typeset plate for the WRMK Precision Press Advanced. I bought that last fall! I didn't buy the press until late February.
I then started kicking myself for NOT getting the extra stamping blocks when Hobby Lobby still had them. They quit carrying them in favor of the typeset plate. I fell in LOVE Precision Press when I did a layered stamp with it. On the smaller layered stamps, I can do FOUR layers on one plate! Since they do NOT hinge, I just turn it to put another layer on. Be sure and clean well and maybe protect what you are working on by having a sheet of paper cover where the other stamp will hit. I love being able to go through it once, getting everything lined up and then you are able to do a bunch of layered stamps, maybe changing colors. I like to make mulitiples to save for later when I can throw a card together quickly!
You CAN use the top side too, have done it when I needed "one more side" for a set of stamps! While you can, you might want to get at least one or two more extra stamping block for the press!
cbet I have the Martha Stewart typeset alphabets she had a few years ago. They work on there ok too, just have to put a little ATG tape on them to make them stay in well. They are a little loose but otherwise fit.
My fun purchases were the extra stamping blocks I mentioned, a Karen Burniston castle die, a bunch of inexpensive clearance layered stamps to use with said press! My other fun purchases were for one of my other crafts. metal stamped jewelry. My BEST fun purchase was the desktop I'm typing on right now! The 10 tablet was too small and had about 3 years. DH's laptop is a Win 7, so too old. A friend had given me a 20 inch monitor so all I had to get was the CPU. Found a great deal!

cat2007 Congrats on your platform. I love mine. I hope you love yours to. It is so versatile. I hope it makes you fall in love with stamping, even more and helps you buy more stamps. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) Oh girls craft confession time. I have been shopping soooo much. To be fair some of these were gifts- Cricut Joy- Belated Valentine's Day gift because the first batch sold out. Cameo 4- That great Mother's Day bundle sale posted here a couple of weeks back. Three very large scrapbook and coloring orders. A rare white/blue Playstation Vita, brand new, with several games. Yes, I have a Switch. Several large gaming orders. I take my handhelds in my art room with me. I bought hamburger today at $10lb. Does that count? ROFL. Poor meat packers and farmer's. You have my heart. I am happy to pay that much. My cashier thought I was crazy. "Are you really paying $10lb for hamburger." I said "Yes, love I am paying $10lb for hamburger." He is really a sweet boy.

I was really really hoping that the spacing on the typeset plate would be right for the JustRite stamp collection that I have, but not quite. I'm seriously considering ordering a spare Stamparatus plate or 2 and attaching the rubber from the JustRite wooden stamps so that I can use those on a stamp press. Right now, they sit in a storage box and don't get used much, and I have 3 or 4 of those lovely fonts . . .

So after watching a YT video of this working Idk if I like that you have to line up the pegs with the holes every time. Is this a big pain or not so much? Does the stamped image on paper stay stuck to the lid? (in the video it did and then it fell off and the image was altered) Here's what I watched. youtu.be/qRh3q3v9hkk

I really want to get a stamping platform, hopefully it will help me to use my stamps more. I thought I saw that Tonic was re-issueing the Tim Holtz version? I thought I saw mention on the board that someone was ordering one that came in a bundle with a cover/sleeve. If the Tim Holtz version isn't re-isssued, I may see if I can get another brand on sale ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)

In fact, for me, it is much easier to ink the stamps when I'm not having to deal with the top being hinged to the bottom. Using tiny Dew Drop or Cats Eye ink pads, I can in fact put TWO different colors on a stamp before I stamp the image. I happen to have extra magnets bought from Home Depot that are just like the magnets used on most of the stamp presses. Some are smaller, some are the same. I just make sure I have plenty of magnets to hold down the paper.
For me, any disadvantages to not having a hinged top are outweighed by the advantages. I like the fact that I can have several tops and leave stamps on them if I'm not finished using those stamps for an ongoing project.

That was my thinking too. I think the hinges would drive me crazy. I saw one video where the presenter had something like 5 stamps all arranged so that she could mass stamp. It was pretty cool.

The stamped paper does sometimes pull up with the lid if you are using new photopolymer stamps - those suckers can be sticky and the image sticking to the stamp can be an issue no matter which platform you use. One hack that I've seen that seems to work pretty well is to use a sizzix sticky sheet on the platform to hold the paper in place - it's strong enough to hold the paper but doesn't tear it when you go to lift it up. (Some people also cut down a Cricut mat, but the sticky sheets are a lot less expensive.)

No purchases; only charitable donations for the last few months. For anyone else considering/shopping for stamping platforms: See the recent Stamp Platform Recommentations? thread. Note I purchased the WRMK Advanced Precision Press referenced in the OP late last summer at TM for $14.99 & have seen it (& the related Typeset Stamping Block Kit mentioned upthread) restocked a few times. If interested, hope your store has availability or receives it again soon.

I think cattle are selling for around $1 per pound on the hoof right now. I honestly don't know who's making all the $$ on meat.

I have both the regular and travel TH stamping platforms. I rarely used my stamps before but platform stamping is so easy that I started using my stash way more often. Of course I had to buy more ink colors. And a few more stamp sets since I had to break the platforms in.
I’m deep in the freezer since I bought my Gemini cutter a few months ago so no new purchases. I have some stamps I bought for card making that I haven’t used yet so it’s kind of like new stuff. I might break those out this 3 day weekend.

My J's had a ton of new Hero Arts stamps and a co-branded stamp from Hero Arts and someone else, but I cant remember the other name.

That is a shame. I didn't know that. I buy my hamburger at a locally owned store where the farmer's are selling direct to. I really hope they are not getting less than what they should be earning. Not trying to sound stuck-up about buying hamburger. I buy locally owned because of my food sensitivities. I have to pay a lot for meat when I do buy it.
