I usually choose a cut apart sheet with numbers for my DD, but they often stop at 25. I actually wish they would add a few extra numbers so we could add the year if we wanted, or continue a little in to January (like I often do). And I do wish they wouldn't put on phrases like "BRRR" and "all bundled up". Even here in Canada, we often have green Christmases and all we can say about the weather is "dreary". The last layout I posted was titled "tropical tree hunt" because it was about 10 degrees C (50 F) (Oh my gosh I wish all the countries would get on the same measurement scales, yes I'm looking at you my beloved USofA ) 10°C is definitely BRRRR territory for me! It's 26°C inside the apartment right now and I'm wearing leggings, socks and a long-sleeved T-shirt. We haven't even put our duvet away yet as the start of summer is still way too cool... You should see the amount of layers on me when we head to the mountains for a couple of days. Matryoshka vibes! ETA: Anyone else mildly annoyed by the fact that Simple Stories used a different number 2 for '12' in that Thickers set? My brain is confused. I noticed that. And I thought maybe the 12 was for 12 Days of Christmas but then there is no fancy 12.

Not a fan of the Photoplay Collection did anyone see the CP collection yet? Many speculate that this year the CP Christmas collection will be by Maggie Holmes. Should be revealed any day. Hope that PinkFresh had a collaboration this year for a Christmas collection. I saw a sneak of their with Altnew “floral” collection coming up and it’s gorgeous for pink and floral loving people like myself.

I don’t like the zeros either - they look like the letter O. I’m just not a fan of that style of handlettering - very LLP style that a lot of handlettering artists have been using lately, and I don’t care for it at all. Easy pass for me.

The wave at the bottom was required for cursive writing in school (and boy, did I love adding a wiggle to my 2s and 7s as a child) so... eh, colour me unphased besides the different one for '12'. I also remember that most of us turned the 0s into connected o letters with the junction when writing numbers with multiple 0s in a row.

They don't teach proper cursive in Australia (I always misread Heidi Swapp's writing!)and I would have love to have learned when young.

For those ready to board the Christmas train: 2. Which Christmas collection do you wish would exist but haven't found yet? (particular themes, colours, aeshetic, phrases, etc.) I would love for Paige Evans to do a Christmas collection, using non-traditional Christmas colors.

Beyond the aesthetic factor, cursive writing has so many benefits for most children that I'm always saddened to hear it isn't part of national curriculums around the world. While it's time-intensive, it helps to brain process letters, practices organisation skills (so important for comprehensive reading) and helps to take the time form and express one's thoughts. I learned cursive at the age of 6 while I learnt reading and writing and it's been a great benefit. I still use a fountain pen almost close to three decades later... Pretty sure I've shared this before on the board but one of my favourite, delightfully retro children's book series, Petite Abeille, has all the text written in French cursive and I remember tracing the letters for the more difficult or particularly appealing words as I was learning to read:

Still waiting to see anything Christmas 2020 from American Crafts, particularly interested in Crate Paper and Pebbles. Also wondering what Pinkfresh has in store for us. Has anyone caught a glimpse of the My Mind's Eye new Christmas stuff yet?

Has anyone caught a glimpse of the My Mind's Eye new Christmas stuff yet? I don't need anymore Christmas supplies, but loved the Pink Paislee collection last year, and I almost always like the Pinkfresh lines. Hoping to see some random papers and embellies I like. So far none of the Christmas lines I've seen up for pre-order do anything for me (which is probably for the best )

First look at Simple Stories and it's extremely Crate Paper-esque! Introducing Winter Cottage: That Crate Paper aesthetic people are loving lately + traditional red & green? We have a bestseller on our hands, ladies. Love this line SOOOOO much!!

I love these numbers, but that 12 is weird. But I only document to Dec 25, so I will most likely pilfer a 2 from the 26-29 to use instead.

Whelp, I just saw the close ups of SS Winter Cottage and there are several sweaters and knitter-ly types pieces that I didn't see before (I also knit), plus cute bears and gingerbread houses. I agree that it looks like Crate Paper. I am doomed

We have a bestseller on our hands, ladies. I think my fave here is the first collection. Modernly traditional if that's a thing. Christmas in the summer doesn't work too brilliantly with all the snow things.... but that is the imagery we grew up with so I still use it a bit here and there.

I remember in standard 4 (olden days 🤣... year 6 these days) I was always being told off for how dreadful my handwriting was. It was a mess. Then at some point in that year the emphasis on "joined up writing" was taken off and suddenly they could read my writing which is a weird mix of joined up printing.

First Crate Paper Sneak is up! http://instagram.com/p/CCEveobnprx I'm liking the look of this for my West Aussie Christmas. Black Swans are native to us and are our official state emblem. And the vibrant colours feel more like our kind of Christmas.

Why in the heck does there need to be a rainbow?!?!
Enough with the odd rainbows. Good gosh.
I'm not liking what I am seeing from CP yet.
I will hold final judgement till it is all released tomorrow.
Also bring back the fat Santa. I like them round.

The UK Christmas Cuddles is the only one I’ve liked so far. That light blue is beautiful and the polar bears are adorable.
That Crate Paper rainbow is seriously wth? That seems so absurdly random.
