I got a membership right before this all started to help my kids and DH & I stock up. I was looking at quantity then more than price. I will be near a Sam’s again next week and would like to make a quick stop.
What are the best deals there?

Depends on what you use. Our membership just expired and we currently have Costco so not sure if we'll renew or not (usually switch back and forth between the two, every year or so). Things I often bought at Sams:
Butter Cottage Cheese Frozen Stirfry veggies Frozen fruit medley Ground beef (foodsaver it into 1-1.5# packs at home) Bacon Meat for smoking (dh will sometimes smoke a whole brisket or 8 racks of ribs or whatever at once then freeze it in meal-size portions) Olive oil Meds (advil, prilosec, benadryl) Nuts/trail mix
Good deals are somewhat subjective. I found I could often get better deals on sales at the regular store (Meijer for me) but if I didn't want to wait for a sale then Sam's was better. Sometimes the sales happen so often that it was silly to buy at Sam's (ie: regular pasta, never bought at Sam's cuz it was on sale so often at Meijer).

Our Sams always has great fresh strawberries, blueberries and other fruit. Usually fresher & cheaper than what I get at other stores. We also get bottled water there. We like their pan of brownies they sell. Its like $10 or less but freezes great. Then when I need a pan of brownies for something, I pull them out, defrost and go. The pan is huge, so my dad will buy a pan and repackage them in 2-3 serving sizes and then refreeze. When he and his wife wants brownies, he pulls a baggie out of the freezer.

My kids buy pet food. We recently joined, and I bought a 2-pack of Bali wirefree, Comfort Revolution Bras (per Pea recommendation😁--thank you) and DH found an 8-pack of his Hanes underwear that Marshall's stopped carrying. Our location also sells gasoline.
Truthfully, we joined because of the pandemic and the shortage of paper products(t.p., tissues and paper towels.) Our BJ's Warehouse (no gasoline pumps) is 35-40 minutes away and Sam's is 10. Sam's is another "big box" store to shop.

I found out that each location carries different items. It pays to shop a a better area............ With that in mind, there are staples that we get at our local Sam's Club every 2 months or so:
*Butter *Eggs *Asian Chopped Salad *Blueberries/Strawberries *lemons *Salmon/Tuna/Whole fish (DH) *Bread items *Frozen Broccoli (separate bags inside) *Chobani flips *Coconut oil/Olive oil *Balsamic vinegar (when it's available) *Soy sauce (it'll last you a while) *Canned tomatoes & paste (I make my own sauce a lot) *Dried herbs *Baking items (choc chips, flour, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract...) *Bisquick & pancake syrup *Cereal & granola bars/Belvita crackers.... *Coffee *Olives/all condiments *Side dishes (mac & cheese, rice dishes....) *Hot dogs (DD loves them) *Pesto *Parm cheese & Locatelli cheese *Pharmacy items (sudafed, tylenol......) *Shave gel *Lysterine *Toothpaste *Shampoo/Conditioner *Moisturizer *Garbage bags/trash bags *Doggie Pee pads (used for my cat's litter box system) *toilet tissue/facial tissue/paper towel *Cleaning items (windex/dishwasher tabs/Tide/Downey/Chlorox wipes/toilet cleaner.......)
I TRY not to venture to the center section of the store--way too tempting!!!!!!!! I've bought sheets there (under $30 but they ended up not lasting long). If you need almost anything, they have it (household items, clothes, sneakers, socks, etc......).
We love Sam's and do end up saving $$ there. We know our prices. I won't, however, buy any meat there. I just don't care for it, so I buy it at my local butcher (and eat small portions)........
They DO mail order items. I've sent my sister tylenol & pajamas for her bday, and it was sent quickly with no shipping fee. Enjoy!!!!!

We really like the frozen cauliflower rice as it is 4 small bags in pkg. As other people have stated, you can't go wrong with dairy and their chips selection. We like the Tyson Hot Wings too.

Eggs Butter Milk Chips Maple Syrup Mayo Coffee
They have really good prices on some of the veggies we like, but the quantities are almost too big some times.
Flour--I got a bag 25lb bag of bread flour for DH that cost barely twice as much as a 5lb bag at the grocery store.
Best deal ever is the scan & go in the app...no waiting in line to check out!

Their berries are always the best. And you get a large container for the price of small ones at local stores.

They used to have the best boneless pork chops. Seriously better than we could get from a butcher or anywhere. We got a Costco close to us about 3 years ago so we haven’t had a Sam’s membership since.

In non-food items, they always had a good deal on boxes of bubble mailers, if you do a lot of mailing.
