I have switched to doing 16:8 more out of curiosity than anything after already being very familiar with 5:2 over the years. It's only day 12 and I've done it all bar one day and today I got to lunchtime and realised I hadn't really noticed being hungry. I had to eat then because I was going out and wouldn't have time for anything until about 6pm otherwise which probably would have been too long for me but it was interesting to notice that. I'll see how tomorrow feels but I may be able to go longer I think... That's what I found happened to me. I can do a 19 hour fast without problem now. It really is amazing, and I love knowing so much more about it now.

I started back at WW two weeks ago, and combine that with IF. The only thing I have in the morning is my coffee with 1Tbsp cream, I don't consider that breaking the fast really. I eat lunch around noon and try to not eat anything after dinner at 6. Occasionally I'll have a popcorn snack, but that is rare. So far 6 down! I gained 25 while I sat on my ass and ate all the things while I wasn't doing cake due to Covid. And a friend and I are doing 100 Morning Meltdown with Beach Body - we do it over Zoom together and are 20 days in! Is eating cake an issue for you? Since you have so much 'cake exposure'? Ha ha - when I'm eating like crap I will definitely snack on cake scraps when I level cakes - but when I'm following WW I don't. I'd rather have pie or a bag of chips! LOL

Oh @gar, I think you will LOVE it. It explains so much. Can't wait to hear what you think about it.

I was doing 16:8 and really enjoyed it, found it easy and had lost a couple pounds but I was getting headaches every night. I tested it by going off for a few days and back on a couple times and the headaches were always there on fasting days. Plus, they happen at night and not when I'm fasted to add to the weird factor. If it was blood sugar or something, I would think it would be during the fast. My dinners are mostly plant based and whole foods so not like I am on a sugar roller coaster at night either.

stine headaches can happen. But you really need to give yourself at least a month of trying it. Switching back and forth could be a problem also. I highly recommend you read Fast. Feast. Repeat since it will explain the how's and why's of what you are doing. I had tried a 16:8 fast in the past, and it never worked like people said. It's because I didn't understand it. Now that I do, it's working great.
