Sorry for the technical difficulties! For some reason, I was able to get the photos to work on the August Sharing thread, but I can't here Here is a link to the pandemic pages I made: imgur.com/a/eIRYOiV

scrappyrabbitYour layouts are fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing them with us. I especially love both your Zoom layout, and the layout with the house made up of a bunch of pics. Great job all around!

Great job all around! Thank you so much! My cousin gave me the idea to do a collage of quarantine pics since we couldn’t see each other this year. I’m not sure how I got the idea to do a house. I made sure to include a little pic of all our family! I currently live in NJ, a very hard hit state especially in the beginning, so we really lived the whole “safer at home” mantra for months! The outdoor activities shown in my pages didn’t occur til May, when we finally felt safe enough to goon a hike or do backyard haircuts at my in-laws.

There have been 178,000+ covid-19 deaths since February 2020. There are approximately 57,000 names on "The Wall". Somebody has got to do something. It seems to me we have no leadership.

sleepingbooty you can see here that have a page about shopping during COVID. Thanks for sharing your fun pages! The 'You Are My Home' page is especially wonderful: love that you filled that large house die-cut with a mosaic of photos of those that make up your home. I was looking specifically for documenting online subscriptions rather than in-store purchases but I guess I'll just print out the monthly recap email from Amazon and work around that.

On one of my July layouts, I included a screenshot of my face mask order from eFavormart.com, which was hundreds of masks. Kind of a "never in a million years would i have thought that I'd be ordering this" moment.

scrappyrabbit thanks for sharing your great pages. They look colorful and cheerful, even during the hard parts at the beginning - highlighting the good things as well as the crazy parts (like empty shelves). I love how much information you got into that first page - regional, political, medical, explaining the terminology - and yet it's still a cool looking page, and fun with the masked globe and colorful accents. I think you got in one page what it took me a dozen to explain! (not that I necessarily wish I'd done mine differently, idk) Sorry about your trip to Spain... I love that fox page! I'm loving all the stories of pandemic wildlife sightings. And that cut file is just cool. I'm still looking for a spot for my "here comes trouble" die cut. I'm thinking it might go on a back to school page. eek.

I actually free-handed the house (using my trimmer to keep lines straight). For online purchases, I took a lot of pictures of the groceries and stuff I ordered online, as they arrived in boxes to my door. I thought it was mildly interesting, this new way of grocery shopping. I didn't end up scrapping those, but maybe a few ended up in my house collage. But that's what I would do, is take pictures of the boxes as you "unbox" them!

I'm thinking it might go on a back to school page. eek. Thank you! Yes, I wanted to definitely balance the seriousness of it, with out giving myself too much anxiety as I look on it later in life. That's also why I only focused on 2 pages of the "bad" and tried to stay somewhat positive throughout the rest. I love how you are documenting it, with a more in depth journal. Had I thought of that in the beginning, I think I would have been interested in a more detailed TN. The diecuts I used are from the Photoplay COVID line (I think it's photoplay...). I had never done a page like that before, especially with no "pictures." The little informational bits I just printed out online on regular printer paper. The Spain trip --- we were literally set to leave two days after Trump made his announcement/ban on international travel. The fox cut-file I got from ACOT and it's Kaiserkraft! It was one of those purchases like, this is cool, when will I use it? Then, bam, perfect pictures to go with it. We've been seeing the fox almost daily on our walks! In addition to the "here come's trouble" die-cut, I also snuck that vellum flower behind it, which can be tricky to use sometimes. I used a Amy Tan flower at the top, but I am debating swapping it out with a Never Grow Up flower to match the rest of the page. I have the floral ephemera pack, but I haven't opened it yet, because I am debating if I want to return it...

The pandemic shows up occasionally in both my memory planner & my PL but I simply can not mentally dedicate an entire project to it. I’m mentally spent I have sat there and said ‘how is that even possible’ an unprecedented amount of times and I just some time need to use my mental capacity in more productive ways than trying to wrap my brain around each new unprecedented or unpresidented stupidity. It seems one after the next after the next.,

The Spain trip --- we were literally set to leave two days after Trump made his announcement/ban on international travel. Yeah, that's a huge bummer. We were supposed to leave for NZ about 3 days after they closed their borders. Lucky we didn't get caught there though - it would've been a long (very strict) lockdown with my parents and brother and someone would probably have gotten stabby. lol. Yes, I think if I'd started earlier, or later, I would've done a different type of album too. I'm a little hung up on Vol.2. Might just need a little break, or maybe I just need to get messy and stop trying to make it look nice. I will try to share some recent pictures soon.

Long time no share, pandemic documenters! Is anyone else still doing a CoViD journal?
Yesterday I got caught up through the US election situation and recent scary-looking community spread graphs. I have all but 2 pages of vol.2 filled, and I am SO DONE! I sat down and wrote myself an essay about why I'm letting this project go now that book 2 is full. The last page will be a sign off with an edited version of what I wrote, a note that although it's all ongoing, I'm letting it go.
This project was never quite fun, and lately has become a huge slog for me.
I think I've left just enough space to include a few small missing stories and an image of what the governor today as he takes us back a few steps closer to lock down, but not really because it's all pretty toothless. I might leave a lined page where I can jot a few more headlines/notes, but there will definitely not be a volume 3.
Volume 2 started in July with a lot more social justice and political content than vol.1 and it has spun way out of control, just like this country. Looking back I'm pleased I have it, it's pretty cool, but gosh, I'm so tired.
I think I've also learned that anything bigger than TN size is beyond me these days. Juggling this with the October album, both of which were too big and too much, I'm going to be scaling my Christmas Journal plans way back!
Anyway... lmk if you'd like to see a flip through or photos, or which is better. Or if you're also just over it already. sigh.

Jo, I'd love to see either a flip through or photos, whichever is easier for you, honestly. I just enjoy seeing how you approach each topic you cover and seeing how you use the product you've chosen. I'm not doing anything like the scale you're doing ( just a few pages rather than a whole album) but I really appreciate the ideas and inspiration.

Thanks msliz and gb2015 I've finished as much as I'm going to finish and put it away on the shelf for today, just to feel DONE! for a moment, but I'll pull it out when we have some light and do something, probably a flip-through video. Thanks for the encouragement. I have some photos of pages shared amongst the other stuff here: www.flickr.com/photos/joblackford/

joblackford A flip-through would be lovely when you have time and are in the mood for it! Congrats on finishing your second pandemic journal. I've got three fat mini albums under my belt for this year and besides my December project which I hope to keep as pandemic-free as possible (ha, I wish!), I'm done as well. I'm experiencing Covid-19 information fatigue. I'll keep up with all my science sources but I'm done documenting anything but major changes/break-throughs. Also, we're back on lockdown so I have to fill in that bloody paper every time I leave my apartment again. That's enough pandemic paper "play" for me until who knows when...

joblackford Thank you for sharing your pages with us! Your work is amazing, as always. 😀 I'm still keeping up with my pandemic album. It's the only thing keeping me sane during all of this. Our city is implementing more restrictions again, but they have no teeth. Without financial assistance to citizens & businesses, they won't actually shutdown, so it becomes a matter of the city asking us politely to not gather, pretty much.

I finally got the "library book group meeting zoom call hacked by porno footage" square on my 2020 bingo card so call I'm going to call myself done. lol. (face palm) I need to write down what the librarian said about "not knowing what all this stuff" appearing suddenly on the screen was. Oh dear... that was the money shot, my friend... lol. Thanks 2020. Thanks for the love on the album, folks.

Apart from COVID related photos for my Project Life, I haven't been documenting. And now I wish that I had been. I would like to put together a timeline of the restrictions etc here, but it's too time consuming to go through google and try to work it out. I've been meaning to ask other Melbourne Peas Chinagirl828 and Ren whether they have been keeping a timeline that I could "steal".

I'm still adding bits and pieces into my PL album for this year. Sometimes it's just a passing mention, like on a page about my annual leave having to be at home because we were in lockdown with a travel restriction still in place, or an update on the latest statistics, and sometimes I give it a full page with the latest in the global timeline.
