Hi, pandemic people. I filmed a flip through of my vol.2 book, and I have some photos of some pages I haven't shared. Not all of them, but some that turned out pretty well IMO. Here's the video. Sorry the shotbox I used to hold the camera steady is only just wide enough to open the book inside, but you should get the gist. Virus diaries vol.2 share by jo.blackford, on Flickr And here are a few pages: Had to get one more dig in about guzzling bleach, so I snagged a great drawing off the internet and I love how that bit turned out. Virus diaries vol.2 by jo.blackford, on Flickr The only time I've paid any attention to a Kardashian. Also, I really wanted to collect a bunch of voting photos so I asked my friends to share the photos they were taking, and I love how it came out. Virus diaries vol.2 by jo.blackford, on Flickr third wave, and the election. I took a screenshot of all the posts I had saved on Instagram for the lower right corner. Virus diaries vol.2 by jo.blackford, on Flickr The chronology was falling apart by this point in the book, so all of these pages are a little random. So I went for even more random at the end. I just added a new chart to the gap on this page showing the new scale the NYTimes is using for the hot spots. It was such a sea of solid red in The Middle they had to come up with more shades of out-of-control... I added that right after I took this picture. Virus diaries vol.2 by jo.blackford, on Flickr So, except for a few inches of space on the final page the book is full and I am done (for now). There's always more. I just took this picture at Joann - not corporate policy safety measures methinks - just someone with some pvc pipe and some shower curtains who wants to protect the cashiers. http://instagram.com/p/CH3gsa7AMA0

Thank you for sharing the flip through joblackford. I think your album is really wonderful, and it kind of makes me wish I'd documented some more of the stuff outside my immediate experience, because I love the broader context.

Thank you for sharing the flip through joblackford . I think your album is really wonderful, and it kind of makes me wish I'd documented some more of the stuff outside my immediate experience, because I love the broader context. Thanks. The broad view can spin wildly out of control very quickly! (like the rotten virus) I find it hard to stay focused on my own experience because in most ways our lives haven’t changed very much. In some ways I feel like I might’ve missed my own personal experience in my album.

joblackford Thank you for the amazing flipthrough! Your album is great. I totally relate to what you said about almost losing your own personal story while documenting the vast world perspective. There is just so much to cover.

There is just so much to cover. And somehow it just keeps getting bigger and bigger... ugh. Gosh, and I didn't even add stories from herd-immunity-Sweden or facing-starvation-India or even much about New Zealand where most of my family are safe and free to plan Christmas dinner! Thanks for the love.

I saw these stamp sets available on Dec. 15th from Paper Person. It seems fitting for pandemic documenting. Warning; they are full of bad words. I want both. http://instagr.am/p/CIjBOlGBp7c

I just wrote a post-it note to myself this morning to remind myself to add this date into my book as the date the shipments began. I'll probably record the current stats too (I haven't been adding to my book for a month or so). When we get vaccinated next spring or so, yes, I guess I'll put that in the book too.

So, I've been thinking about doing some pandemic journaling and now that I actually have the plague I want to at least keep track of that.
Anyway, I was wondering where people have been seeing pandemic/quarantine related supplies? I'm still pretty new to papercrafting so I feel like there's a lot of places him just not thinking to look. I have one set of stamps from Ink Road and some virus die cuts from AliExpress but other than that I'm drawing a blank.

There are references throughout the pages of this thread, and you might find more in this other thread about covid supplies: 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/113656/thoughts-covid-themed-scrapping-suppliesQuite a lot of them are digital printables. In a Creative Bubble has a lot of elements you can print and cut, both her Quarantine Life collection and her Covid Christmas supplies. creativebubble.bigcartel.com/productssleepingbooty might be able to point to others. I know there were paper companies bringing out virus related collections in the past few months.

What about making quarantine ornaments? Make a paper chain using toilet paper rolls, make angels out of paper masks, get little hand sanitizer bottles and decorate them for the tree. Next year it will hopefully be a memory and no longer a reality.

She might want to complete the look with some tp paper chain.

I love your album joblackford. Mine is ready to finish putting it together. I have all the photos and the journalling recorded. With out lockdown being short and pretty much over by May, that's where I'm likely to finish documenting our experience. I also used the blank templates from Persnickity to capture national (NZ) and international facts. I think I'll add those in for beyond May so I can capture all the extra detail.

So, I've been avoiding this thread for awhile now. As the numbers got worse and worse here in AZ, I could feel Covid19 circling near. Distant relatives began getting it. Then close friends. It's at this point that I stopped even thinking of working on my pandemic album cause I had this fear at the back of my head... what if a loved one died from it? How would I handle all that in my album?
Then it came to my doorstep, and sure enough my entire family got it. It wasn't nice and not easy at all. But, we are getting thru it. But I was truly scared for some loved ones who also had it. And now, on Christmas eve, we had a death in the family due to Covid19. 💔
I don't know if I wanna continue on with my album. I also have so many family members on all sides and friends that have it now and aren't doing so great. Mostly everyone has gotten it from work, and passed it on before knowing the had it. Front line working families, it sucks what we are exposed to on a daily basis. But, we have to work 😞
So, any of my fellow pandemic documenters dealing with this and if so how are you approaching it in your albums?

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry for your loss and the hard times your family are going through. 😞 I can't imagine continuing to work on an album under your current circumstances. At the very least I would put it away until things have gotten better, you have processed your grief and feelings, and wait and see how you feel about what you've made. It may make more sense just to toss the whole thing away. Or maybe it can become something else. But I wouldn't think about now. Take care of yourselves. I hope you are OK.

joblackford Thank you for your kind words. Physically, I'm still having some fatigue and a cough from the covid 3 weeks in, but otherwise feeling so much better. Emotionally, I've had things on lockdown in order to get thru Christmas for my kids. And honestly I think I'm in shock cause of how quickly things got worse and then they where gone. But I have a great DH by my side, so I know I will be ok eventually. Thank you for your input on what I should do regarding my pandemic album. For now it's on praise I think.

lostwithout2peas I'm so sorry for your loss and for the health challenges you and your loved ones are dealing with. I can't speak from experience but I think Jo has offered some good advice about putting the album away and focusing on your health and well being. Wishing you and all those dealing with it a speedy and full recovery.

Wishing you and all those dealing with it a speedy and full recovery. Thank you. I'm just gonna let the album sit like joblackford recommended. At first it seemed so interesting to record these strange times. Once the numbers started getting astronomical and weren't slowing down I stopped having such an interest in doing the album and stopped even thinking of working on it...Now it's taken a very sad and dark turn. Maybe I will pick it up at some point, but scrapbooking is supposed to bring me joy, and this would just be a constant reminder of what's been lost right now.
