Lara has declared a moratorium on all Tim talk in her Facebook group. She also said in a different post that people are reporting her products to Shopify, which is causing some of them to be yanked by Shopify. She certainly hasn’t called a moratorium on TikTok. She’s posted at least 20 videos there about it. Here is her being a hot mess. vm.tiktok.com/JFjY631/

I think kindred stamps has some pop culture character stamps but they might be different enough from the originals to not get in trouble. Or they’ve been quiet enough to fly under the radar. I just checked them out and they’re cute. And very carefully avoid any trademark triggers in their descriptions. “Science geeks” who just happen to look like the characters from the Big Bang Theory... They didn’t even use the plural of friend in the write up of their Friends stamp - they carefully only used the singular and besties. I don’t know that the IP owners would see any of their stamps as fair use. Considering Disney sent a cease and desist letter to a small town in New Zealand where someone had painted a mural with some Disney characters on the restroom wall, I’d say they’re not very forgiving... and the toilet block wasn’t even making a profit off the images. I think that was back in the 90s. It wasn’t even an IG famous mural. She knows she’s violating the intellectual property rights of every single one of those company’s and she doesn’t care because it makes her a buck.

Yep, Lara is Ink Road Stamps.
All these companies use the “fan art” loophole to create their stamps. Thanks to someone up in this thread (can’t find it now for some reason) and I looked it up. It’s illegal to create and sell fan art so yeah, these stamp companies (Ink Road and Kindred) will eventually receive cease and desist letters from Disney and the like.

Did she delete her account? It looks like she made it private. In a nutshell, it was her crying on video saying she gives up and that the Tim Holtz fans won, over and over again. With a few F bombs thrown in.

Also, I think the regret is that it didn't pan out like she wanted. I don't think her apology to them is sincere. Based on everything.

Wow. She is nuts. Do I believe her that the email was from a fake source? Hell no! Girl is just trying to save face at this point. I still believe she went off the deep end and made all of the emails up. But that's just me.

Okay then. It sounds like she is claiming then that the "someone" must have doctored the screen shots prior to her recieving them? She just took the ball and ran with it?

She is very specific to warn people not to mention show, movie, or character names when talking about her stamps. 🤷♀️ Always a good sign that you know you’re doing the right thing... not. ETA: sorry that 2nd quote got messed up. This irritates me more than AliExpress shops stealing designs because I kind of expect them to be scam artists. They don't even try to hide it when they use images straight from the companies websites. But legitimate businesses doing it and telling their customers to help them? That is too much.

I hope the next time someone posts #BLM art in the Tim Holtz fb page, it is left up and that Tim shows his support.

FurryP same... I've been saying this for years and I'm happy that people are recognizing the issue because I think a lot of consumers don't even realize it's illegal. It's not just Ink Road Stamps and Kindred Stamps... Kelly Purkey did it all the time, pretty blatantly, and Studio Calico from time to time, although they were a little more careful to avoid using obvious names (such as stamps with obvious Disney or Harry Potter icons were simply called "magic" rather than what they actually were).

And I am like girl, just own it and truly apologize for being a wack a doodle B who lied to make some money. I do not buy the a doctored email was sent to me. Uh hu. Suuurreee She’s drama. One hour watching all her TikTok crap was a doozy. Several things—- Her now posted YouTube “apology” while a small start she’s still full of crap in the apology. The now admitted “doctored emails” had zero to do with a lot of what she was saying and posting about Tim, Mario, Zoe, as well as other notable crafters who voiced their support for Tim. She attacked them as well as their followers with hate and ugly seeming all of them racists, again nothing to do with any emails. Then she said a black woman asked her to address “the issue” which is when she went on a full on bender. And then she doubled down on her claims (even though she was being told that (by Zoe) that she was being duped—-she didn’t care and continued full speed ahead. Her apology falls short— “Hey I’m sorry but it’s really not my fault....”

Holy crap. Who does the shit she did? I am sure a lawsuit threat is the reason behind the walk back. You don't go from 'raging lunatic' to "I'm sorry' without some motivation.

I think this as well, especially after watching her video where she was bawling. She mentioned in that video “stuff she couldn’t talk about” when she was crying about “Tim’s cult winning”

A lot of people sure jumped on her bandwagon right away. Guilty. I've seen too many people behaving so badly lately. For real. Racists, homophobes, antisemites. I've lost actual friendships as people in my life have revealed themselves as hateful and bigoted. And this country's leadership, which is worst of all, just encourages people to give a voice to their hatred of everyone who is different from themselves and anyone they can blame for their problems. I think I'm just not surprised by it anymore. So yes, I believed it at first.

I think a lot of us realize it’s illegal but don’t care because truly we would prefer to buy fan created stuff. Disney is never going to offer the kind of images I want in my cards/albums, and although I recognize that they have certain legal rights, I don’t generally agree with the law extending to fan created interpretations. I’m on the side of fan fiction, fan art, and all that (sort of grey area) fair use. Sometimes it goes way too far, for sure (the guy who sold horrifically expensive huge artworks of other people’s IG posts without their consent or knowledge with no alteration or “art” to it at all) but I would actually be sad if all these pop culture stamp companies had their products pulled. I can live with the contradiction. Shrug.

I’m still just exhausted by this whole thing. I think a lot of us/people rushed to take sides before the whole story was teased out, but it’s a lot to process and a lot of people’s true colors have been revealed lately, so I get why that happened. But also maybe making videos where you spill all your thoughts and feelings and accuse people is not the best way to communicate. I never watched the original video because I could see the drama coming and I just can’t watch that. I don’t think that’s a great way to handle something as sensitive and potentially damaging as this. The whole thing has just put me off everyone TBH. Since this started I’ve been thinking I just need to unfollow everyone and make my own stuff and do my own thing. Draw my own fan art of pop culture and avoid all the scrappy celebs except the ones I have gotten to know are decent people I would probably like being friends with in real life (which is basically just Shimelle). I gotta stop coming here and stay away from the drama completely, lol.

Same here, I was going off past bad behavior from Tim that I personally witnessed (no racist behavior but saying derogatory things said about women) so I didn't fully investigate. Now that I've gotten more info I was definitely wrong to fully believe Lara. I was in the Ink Road facebook group and told her she better lawyer up because they will get their lawyers on her and it looks like they did. I hope she gets the help she needs, I do feel badly for her because she is screaming out for attention. A lot of people sure jumped on her bandwagon right away. Guilty. I took her side initially - mainly because I knew *I* would never scream accusations like that without making damn sure I had all the info correct. And now I see...everyone does not do business like I do.
