I cancelled ours. We were going to take a 3000 mile road trip through 10 states. I’m bummed but both kids voted to go next year so hoping we can do that!

I had to cancel two trips. A girls trip for DD and I to celebrate her HS graduation at Disneyland, Newport Beach and the Queen Mary, and a family trip to Puerto Rico at Christmastime. Nothing major and all easy to reschedule, but it still sucks.

Yep! Hawaii trip in May and postponed until October, but we're not going to that either. Also cancelled my birthday trip to the beach this month.

I'm trying not to think about it. We didn't have it booked yet so I feel lame whining about it but... this year is my 50th birthday, our 25th wedding anniversary and MBA completion. We were planning a huge blowout trip back to Asia this fall. We were just planning the details when COVID hit. Blech.
Oh, and numerous trips to visit our family. Our home province of New Brunswick is still closed for travellers (but 0 active cases - go them!) and I get it, just missing our family. And a wedding for a friend back in NB.
Man, this has already been the longest year ever. Waiting a year for a vaccine so we can travel and see family is going to feel like a decade.

I canceled my trip to see my adult kids back in March. Then my daughter planned to come here next month but we canceled.
My bf and I are going to West Virginia (from Pittsburgh) next month for our mutual birthdays though.
Right now, I also plan to go to CA for Christmas.

Yes. We were supposed to be in Greece last week and the week before. The company cancelled the holiday. We kept our annual leave the first week and stayed at home, and went back to work the second week.
On our week off it rained every day for the first time since February. DH was cranky and I wasn't well. What a flipping waste of a week off.

It is so hard to have to cancel things, even when it is for the right reasons.
If it makes you feel better I canceled a girls trip to Florida in March A Canadian cruise in August.
I hope you get to do something enjoyable this summer.

I'll join the pity party! I was due to go to England to meet my baby gd in April and of course the flights got cancelled so that was the end of that trip. We usually go to Palm Desert CA in August but have now decided not to do that due to CA closing back down again. 2020 has been a very sucky year

Yes, weeks ago we canceled our annual trip to Destin, Fl with the grands. I am still so sad about it even though I know it was probably for the best. We are that family that is counting down till our next trip before we even leave Destin so this is HUGE ☹️☹️☹️

We were supposed to go to Hawaii next month. I've never been, and I was so looking forward to it. We postponed to January, which coincides with our 30th anniversary, but I highly doubt we will go at the rate things are going.
We did take a driving vacation up through the Badlands National Park and saw Devils Tower. It was our way of escaping without getting too close to people.

I am sorry that you just cancelled your family vacation. I feel like "BooHoo" and so what. I am sorry to say that to. We had a big family vacation planned for the July 4th weekend for two weeks to include a lot of outdoor activities, hiking, canoeing, etc. and shopping, visiting touristy sites, etc. We cancelled it back in early April because we had a rally good idea how this summer and possibly the fall was going to go. Its been very disappointing since this is the time we were supposed to go. But we all still being very cautious and pretty much SIP, with realistic trips to the grocery, very small contact, trying to limit exposure. mask wearing. etc. To wait to cancel a vacation a week before it happens seem unrealistic. So we are holding out hope for a Christmas vacation instead, but we are pretty sure we will have and idea much sooner before firming all plans, etc. We will NOT wait a week before to cancel as that is is not realistic in todays world. katiekaty We did not cancel a week before the vacation. We cancelled a month before the vacation. "Boo Hoo and so what" - how kind of you. Our beach vacation was supposed to start August 9. We cancelled on July 7. The last date that we were obligated to either cancel or pay. We have rented the same cottage for the last 8 years and the owner was more than kind and understanding about the whole thing. Not meant to be unkind really. We are all missing out on doing the major things we would normally being doing. Life has been turned upside down. And who knows when or what it will be, when things return to “ normal”. Also, you original post didn’t include the dates of your vacation, so it seemed you waited unti a week before to cancel. I see you added and update.
