The heat is getting to me. I started running after stopping in February and I’m up to about 40 minutes with run 9 min walk 1 intervals but it’s over 90 and I could only do three today. I need to get myself out of bed in the morning and get it done before work. Im with you - impossible to run in the heat. The only time I can actually run is in the cool morning.

TUESDAY- I did my stretching exercises and walked! I know how many of you feel. Between the heat and this quarantine, getting outside has been a challenge. So glad to see some of you are already in a exercise routine. So I am cheering for all of you, especially if you're struggling! I have done more this week than I have in a while. You all are motivating me.

I am just back from today's exercise - a 4km, roughly 20 minute bike ride. OK - not so far or so long, BUT - I had a total knee replacement in mid-January (so less than 7 months ago) and this was my first time back on the bike. I hope to get out more over the weekend, now that I know I can manage it without a lot of pain.

WEDNESDAY: I did my stretching and I will do a walk.
I should look for a program or challenge I can get into to keep me going. You all have shared some good ones that I will check out.

Yesterday I did a 50 minute peloton spin class. I intended to do a strength or yoga class too but I got sidetracked and didn’t do it. I got up very late today so I haven’t worked out yet. I’m headed to the peloton right now to spin:)

I started LIIFT4 program on Beach body on demand. Today was day two and I just want to let my arms hang....even lifting a water bottle is a struggle. It's not like I'm out of shape either because I just finished Morning Meltdown 100 on the same platform. Tomorrow is an 'off' day so I'll do a stretch yoga class

Thanks Kelly! Great idea! I have been far too sedentary for too long. I have severe allergies and am very low energy for 4-6 months each year. That is lifting now and I started exercising much more regularly about three weeks ago. My goal is to do some of the 8 Minutes in the Morning exercises at least 5 mornings a week, and then to walk either on my treadmill or outdoors. I'm also just starting to explore the Body Groove plan. Paid for a year subscription a few days ago. Today I did 4 sets of squats, calf raises, bicep curls and dumbbell rows, and 3.4 miles on my treadmill. I walk at about 3.2 mph. Thanks! Hope you doing well this week! Cheering for you! I really need to get up and do something, ANYTHING, so I appreciate this thread. It's 745 and I'm still working at my home office. I want to finish my current task, log out, and go for a walk even if it's with a mask on in the garage. I WILL come back to tell you all when I've accomplished that. Hang in there and I am walking with a mask, too. I live in an apartment building so always someone around to be aware of. Yes! I need motivation! I'm quarantining myself from the gym for a few weeks bc i have a few coworkers with strep, Covid, or both. I feel fine but I'm missing my personal trainer sessions. It's very hot and humid so i can't make myself run, though I've been walking. I have weights and DVDs at home and don't feel like doing anything with them. Gonna try an early morning run with the dog if i can make myself get up early on my day off... I totally feel ya! I got weights that I haven't used in years. LOL! They just sit there collecting dust! Oh my god, yes! I've hit a wall of absolute exhaustion and I've no idea why, I know I'd feel better if I got moving but the sofa is so comfy. My sofa is super comfy, too! LOL!!! Good idea! I wish I could get back into a routine because I sure have gained some weight since covid-19. At the beginning I was trying to walk every day and not doing too badly at keeping myself moving...but then this heat wave arrived. I've tried to drag myself outside first thing in the morning but can't usually motivate myself. I'd rather sit with my coffee and browse the internet. My other problem is that I need new walking shoes. I've tried finding some from Zappos but they never fit right and then I have to return them which is a pain in the butt. So I really need to go to a shoe store and try them on. Which I'm afraid to do right now. grumble, grumble, excuses, excuses.... Hang in there! It is hard and I am struggling to increase my routine. But this week has motivated me. I need to get back on track too. I was doing really well in May and early June, exercising daily, but then came summer. I have this week vacation left and I'm trying to do something everyday. That way I can hopefully continue as work starts again. Yesterday I walked for an hour and now I'm thinking of doing of some Youtube cardio videos. Walking for an hour is great!

Yes! It’s way too hot here to do anything active outside, when it’s 100 degrees out! I just purchased a used cruiser bike on FB Marketplace, to ride when it gets cooler out!😊

I remembered to take my phone with me this morningfor ONE of the walks around the property. I walked about 1000 steps, and I did it twice, so I have about 2000 steps so far--and it's not 10 am yet--but now it's getting hot outside, so will have to wait until this evening to add any more. I've also sat in my recliner and did some digital scrapping. I probably didn't move much though. I did use my pilates machine for a few minutes. My knees really feel the difference when I don't use it, so I try to use it every day.

Once again I did a 4 mile run. The fog was whipping over the hills, it was cold and windy but wonderful. Was hoping to do 6 miles oh well, hopefully tomorrow morning.

Love this thread, thanks for starting it kellyr21. There used to be a weekly thread a few years ago, and I love seeing one back again. It's serendipitous that I decided I needed to start moving more this week. On Monday, I set a goal of 30 minutes five times a week. Mon: Walked 35 minutes, was stinking hot and humid at 9:30am Tues: Walked 40 minutes, same at 8:30 Wed: Walked 30 minutes, was 92 at 8am Thurs: Walked 60 minutes, because it was a little cooler and drier. Man, I hate the heat, but I'm really happy about my walks. It clears my head for me. I'm not going to the gym anytime soon, so I really need this.

What I really need to work on are my arms. I did some push ups and dips yesterday....hopefully I can do an arm band with out later. I hate when my arms are flabby

THURSDAY: My Fitbit says 10,350. That was from tying it on my shoe during our 25 mile bike ride on the beautiful, historic and tragic Ghosttown Trail in Central PA.

How is everyone? It's Thursday! I just did 20 min on the elliptical, 20 min upper body strength, 10 min barre 3 and 10 min abs. I am getting off to a slow exercise start today. I got caught up in a project and still need to walk. I did do a little this morning. I will check back later with my full update. Thanks for asking! Love this thread, thanks for starting it kellyr21. There used to be a weekly thread a few years ago, and I love seeing one back again. It's serendipitous that I decided I needed to start moving more this week. On Monday, I set a goal of 30 minutes five times a week. Thanks! I needed this thread and it is helping me get moving. I hear ya about the heat. I am in Cali so it is dry heat. I don't know how you all get any outside exercise done in that humidity!!! LOL! But, I am glad you joined us and and you are doing great this week!!!

I've been walking 2-3 miles, 3 days a week. The reminder I need most is >> Don't buy snacks. Don't eat snacks. Specifically >> Don't buy ice cream. At Easter, I made myself walk 2 miles to the store if I wanted a Reese egg. You can have the ice cream but you have to walk to buy it! LOL

I was doing crossfit for three years until July 2019 when I had a non-Crossfit foot injury. Then I changed positions in my company and had training and couldn’t take my long lunches. Then covid. Needless to say I gained a lot of weight back this past year July 7th was my first day back at the gym. I’ve gone twice a week each week since then. This week I will go three times. I have worked from home since April 2019 and enjoyed it, until covid and it was staying at home 24/7. Being back at the gym has really helped my mental health. Today was my most productive exercise day. I walked my dog for 1 1/2 miles this morning and then did my 45 minute exercise class. My third class this week will be tomorrow. I wish pools were open. I have scoliosis and like doing both crossfit and water exercise. The water exercise gives my muscles and body a good workout without stressing my joints.

I’m getting back on track this week. I got 30 minutes of exercise in M-W. I’m going to do my very best to drag myself out of bed for a three mile sunrise walk while it’s still cool. And Saturday maybe I’ll use my rebounder.

Hi all 😊 I have started to get a grip on my lockdown weight gain and have just made myself a list of exercise for the week. Each day I have to pick yoga, pilates, stretch, arms, abs or whatever from a group of YouTube videos I have collected. I also go walking a couple of times a week. My arms ache a bit from yesterday’s w/o so that’s good!

Does anyone have any health/fitness or general wellness podcasts that they enjoy? I need something uplifting to listen to.
