These last few months have been rough. My boss quit just as we all went in to remote work. I was offered her position and immediately became supervisor for a staff of 40. This all happened while I was trying to help my 2 kids adjust to virtual learning. There was no time for exercise. And I handled the stress by eating.
Last month I told dh that I wanted a treadmill and he came through in a big way. He bought one with iFit and I absolutely love it! It motivates me to walk every day. The great thing about iFit is that you are watching videos while the treadmill adjust speed and incline to the person on the screen. I started out with entry level walks through Egypt, learning so much about Ancient Egypt in the process. I just completed a 7 day Southern Utah hike challenge. Next up I'm going to start a beginner runner series through Ibiza. I think I will rotate that and a walking series through Scotland. This treadmill is amazing! I asked for a treadmill that would allow me to travel and that is exactly what I got.
In case you are curious, I got the Proform ProSmart 2000. Now that I have it, I wished I would have asked for a bigger screen. Norditrack also has iFit.

I did day 3 of LIIFT4 with Beach body on demand. My arms are still sore from days 1&2 and I did those Tues and Weds.

I just got back from the nicest 60 minute walk. The heat broke and it’s back to beautiful New England summer this morning. I’m definitely feeling stronger after meeting my movement goals this week.

I had to work earlier than usual this morning so didn't get my workout in yet. I will need to do something to close my exercise ring. Maybe a strength workout in between work and DS's games? Or a 30 min walk. I also did something to my shoulder/back and am very stiff today. My arm is feeling tingly. Wish I could have someone give me a massage or something. Ugh.

Hi, jumping in! I love the accountability so thank you! DD(14) and I are going walking early every morning, around 7. We live in a hilly neighborhood so we get a good workout. When quarrantine first started I was religious about it but as time went on I started skipping and combined with sourdough baking guess what!!!! Ugh. Nope. Nope nope nope not gonna get fat again. So three weeks ago I asked DD to stay with my parents for a week so I could get my head back in the game. I started walking again and went back to my normal IF eating schedule too. I'm down about 5 pounds now and now that she's home she's getting out of bed and walking with me, I'm so proud of her! Not many 14 year olds are gonna climb out of bed to go walking with mama! Funny thing, my favorite cousin who lives some distance from me has a group she goes hiking with regularly. She's super proud of me for getting fit again and invited me to join them on a 3 day hiking trip to Zion. I've never been there, and I'm so excited! We are going mid August and I can't wait. Now I have even more incentive to my 57 y/o ass in shape. This is huge for me, I'm new to hiking. I decided to step up the cardio too, we have a super steep hill in my town called Tarantula Hill and I'm going to doing that 3x a week in the early evening as well. Have a great weekend all!

We have no intention of going back to our gym. It's super small and there's no way to distance in the rabbit-warren of rooms there. He wants a stationary bike and I want a treadmill in time for winter. I like the idea of learning about ancient Egypt while walking there.

~summer~ we are going to just day hike, I know they got a cabin and she reassured me we are doing morning hikes. I have *no* idea what to expect. I keep asking her a million questions..do I need special shoes, do I wear long pants like leggings or do I wear shorts.. She's never been either (we are mostly city folk) so she's my danger girl cousin who was the one always leaping off of things and I was that kid who stood on the sidelines and say "Denise we are going to get in trouble!". Anyway we are going to be sticking to normal trails, nothing too crazy. I don't believe we are doing that one where you go through the water but if we do I'm game. I read you can rent the shoes. Any tips you can recommend to me I'd appreciate it!

Finished my third workout for this week I’m not a fan of doing our Monday or Friday workouts. They always feel harder to make up for taking the weekends off Since I’m old, fat, out of shape and have scoliosis, my coach always modifies the workout for me. She is fabulous. My workout for today: 4 calories on bike 8 alternate 1 arm devils press - without the burpee 10 step ups 12 bicep curls do 3 times in six minutes - rest 3 minutes after each 6 minute set I was very excited (and exhausted) to be able to complete all of my rounds. My coach is really good about knowing just the right modifications and reps to push me.

A good day for me. I completed the Peloton July cycling challenge with 472 miles total. I’m not a huge fan of spinning but I committed to getting on everyday. There are so many great classes that I was always able to find something I liked.

Friday: 12,775 steps so far
And you all who are paying attention to your upper body are inspiring me. Next week I plan on making a goal of digging out my wrist weights and maybe light hand-weights and do a little bit there.

WE DID IT Y'ALL!!! I was reading through your comments today and you all did a fantastic job. It was so exciting to have some "Pea Pals" to work out with and I did more this week than I have done in a while. This morning, I was even watching some YT exercise videos and ordered my first sport bra & legging set!!! LOL! Do you feel like you reached your goals??? It seems like most of you express that you did. I would like to continue this "Exercise With Me" next week starting Monday. I will add the new link to this thread on Sunday night. You all with me? FRIDAY: I did some light aerobics and stretching. I will walk before the night is over. Thanks for playing along this week and I hope you are motivated and inspired!!!!

We got home from baseball at about 9:00 and I still hadn't closed my exercise ring so I just went for a walk. Will do more tomorrow. Finished my apple watch rings challenge first on my team.

I also did way more this week than I have in months.

My goal was to get on the bike 5 days. So far its been 4 and I expect to do another spin class tomorrow. In fact yesterday DH and I got on our actual bikes and went on a 20km ride along the waterfront trail near us. I know 20km is no big deal for some people but for me its an accomplishment. We stopped halfway and had a picnic on the beach (complete with canned wine, which I can't say I endorse). It's the most 'normal' I've felt in public since the pandemic began. I've felt super out of shape BUT I did better that when we did this route last time, with more speed and it actually felt pretty easy. Yay!

I did my 5 days in a row at gym- worked all my body parts. I'm taking today and Sunday off. Today is the first day they are requiring masks and no I haven't been wearing one in gym- nobody has except the workers and they are usually hanging down around their chins. I don't get near anyone- get done and get out. I don't think I'll be able to workout with one on. This is what I think will happen... Wear one as you enter and then take it off. I know it defeats the purpose.

During all this mess we got our garage completely cleaned out and organized. We have set it up as a home gym. We already had a treadmill and added an elliptical I bought on Facebook marketplace. I ordered a spin bike back in June and it finally came in Thursday. I put it together and did my first ride this morning. I loved it. I got the Peloton app and the music was just perfect! I hope to get my DH out there with me tonight.
I would love a weekly thread. I’ve lost a lot of weight, but I’ve got some creeping back on. I’m planning to fix my eating habits and Exercise more!
Next week my DS has to be dropped off at football at 5:45 and I don’t have to be at school until 8:00 for our first week of inservice, so I’m going to throw on workout clothes and after dropping DS off come right in and do a ride.

That's what I need to add are some rewards to keep me motivated until all this becomes a habit. So glad you felt good out there and I can't wait until things open up here. I miss freely moving around without a mask.

Can I join in? I am trying to walk every day at least 3km (we have strict lockdown so I can't do my usual dancing). I'm also starting a challenge with increasing reps of sit ups, push ups etc. each day. Hopefully it lasts.....
