In case anyone missed it on the big 14 pager, Lara admits the emails she received were fakes, and the allegations were false. She has a new YouTube video “apology”. She posts as The Pretty Basic on YT. Too lazy to do link but you can find it on pg 14 on the other thread.
ETA: She also said Tim Holtz did not have her line pulled at SSS.

That's apparently what happened w/the Jolly Elf woman - even though she said that wasn't it - but then on YT comment she seemed to say that was it.

I have no intention of watching her video, any more than I watched the original one - I have more drama than I need in my life already.
But I appreciate you posting this thread with a clear title so people who haven’t been following the other thread know that TH should not be on anyone’s shitlist, at least, not for Lara-related accusations (I know some people have other reasons to dislike him).

I've met TH a couple of times at shows and I really appreciated the time he gave me. He was in no hurry and genuinely nice so it was really hard to believe that mess. My people intuition remains intact!

Interesting that Ink Road Stamps is coming out with a link of black artists matter stamps. And has other BLM stamps available.

I have to say this with all due respect....white folks have been doing the most when it comes to being offended and reacting during all of this. I only say that as a Black woman who did ALL of the digging I could and found nothing. Then I sat back puzzled and ate popcorn. As I said in the other thread I think i think on the second day of this hot mess there was NOTHING that made me want to stop buying TH. No evidence but a whole lot of some crazy broad saying things that just didn't seem credible. I hope that all of the butt hurt TH boy-cotters come here and then watch the apology (which I won't. no views from me).

Nope, I won't be buying his stuff because of what I heard him say about women of size in his classes. Granted, this was over 10 years ago, so hopefully he's changed, but once bitten twice shy is my motto in this situation. I was curious because she claimed to be an ally but I didn't find what she said (I didn't look that hard and I didn't want to give her any views on TikTok so I didn't look there, only on instagram). I did look at her IG profile and someone posted about her going after Danesh and she said she never said those things but also that he is going after innocent people or something to that effect. I blocked her IG because I have zero desire to see her lies. I'm wondering if Danesh went after one of her friends and she is trying to save face by saying he's wrong. It's not surprising if she does lean into white supremacy when it serves her (unfortunately most of us white people do ). |

The Brutus Monroe drama was apparently a couple of years ago. There's a thread about it linked somewhere above in this thread. I was entirely unaware of it as I was not a papercrafter in 2020, but I clicked the link.
Brutus Monroe/Christopher Alan were one of the companies/teachers at this spring's cardmaking C&C. It was one of the evening classes and I am a morning crafter, so I haven't even watched the class yet. I was oddly repelled a bit by his meet and greet.
Now I'm wondering whether I'll do the class at all or not.
I should probably at least try.
