I know back in April when Wisconsin held their primary, how heated it was because the Supreme Court didn't let them have a delay. Yes it was horrible, but this is why they needed to hold firm. If they had done that it would give easier path to delaying the Nov 3 election. Also, how come it is "safe" for schools to open but we can't vote safely? hmmmmm.

This is a good point, but didn’t they also have restrictions on who could vote absentee? I’m in MN and I went online to register for an absentee ballot for the primary and also for the general election, no special circumstances necessary. And it took all of about five minutes to do. My primary ballot (for the primary August 11) arrived in my mailbox less than a week later. Everyone nationwide should have that same opportunity to vote safely from home.

Christine LaGreca .....
”Constitution states if No election occurs or if no Winner is determined by Jan 20th, then Speaker of the House is Sworn in!!! Welcome, President Pelosi.”
Interesting thought. If there is no election the House remains a Democratic Majority which would mean Nancy Pelosi would remain as Speaker of the House.

The USPS was a safe enough vehicle to send the stimulus cheques through but not, apparently, ballots.

Pelosi wouldn’t lose her seat then. eta: I don’t think that Trump can force a state to delay elections for state positions, even if he were to somehow finagle delaying the presidential election.

Now would be a really good time for Republicans to denounce him. Too many of them have seats in jeopardy.

Didn’t Pelosi make some kind of deal with the other House Dems that if she kept her position as dealer for this term that she would step down the following cycle?

Oh hell no. He is such a transparent idiot. Economy report is going to be bad so better distract with something I know will get people up in arms. Fortunately for us, we can pay attention to more than one thing at a time and can speak in complete sentences. There's only one reason he tweeted that today, say it loud and clear. "US ECONOMY SHRINKS 32.9% IN WORST PLUNGE SINCE GREAT DEPRESSION."

Hmm, Colorado voters don’t seem to have issues with mail-in voting. You don’t even have to mail your ballot, as there are plenty of secured drop off locations everywhere.

I forgot about that. Although I think the Dems in the House might want to revisit that agreement in the case of Trump trying to delay the election.

Every two years all members of the a House are up for re-election. And at that time the Speaker of the House position is up for grabs. But if there is no election there is no new Congress so there would have to be a continuation of the existing Congress/House. Which would mean Pelosi would remain Speaker of the House. I would think.

I'm embarrassed for how desperate he is getting to hold on to his office. He's like a jilted lover who proclaims "if I can't have you, no one can". So pathetic.

I would like to see it postponed. I'm not thrilled about either of them so I want to see these guys debate. We don't even know who Biden is going to pick as a VP. We are under 100 days. I my opinion delaying the vote is appropriate.

I my opinion delaying the vote is appropriate. No debate is going to change anyone’s mind, nor is it a necessary part of the election process. And who says there isn’t going to be debates in any event? They can absolutely have debates between the two candidates. If they can have press conferences with appropriate safety measures and hearings and senate votes they can have a debate.

Oh hell no to delay. I will bombard the offices with prolific emails and phone calls of any elected official who backs that crap.
Wait, I thought he's so successful in dealing with the virus. Hold the damn election then. Can't have it both ways.

Just watched some of trump’s press conference.
He’s serious about delaying the election, because in his mind with so many people choosing to vote by mail it will be rigged, against him.

I am so pissed off. I have been stalking FB today just waiting for one of my Trump supporting family members or friends to post something about this. I am hoping that one of those who were just sooooooo sure that Obama was going to declare Martial Law and not hold an election will say something about this because I will give them a piece of my mind. I didn't even vote for Obama, and I got so damn sick of hearing people say that he was going to find a way to not leave office.

I didn't watch but heard that he was already backing down and said that wasn't what he meant about postponing the election LOL.
I don't need a debate and I don't think many do. The debate will not change most peoples minds at this point.
I just don't get why we need hydroxy for a hoax or to postpone an election for a hoax. Oh and we need the election because so many of his followers believe that the hoax will be over after the election. So many contradictions.

I my opinion delaying the vote is appropriate. Our country can’t survive a delay. We’re barely holding things together now. And how many more will die of Covid as a result of this administration’s handling? No way. There’s enough information on both candidates to make an informed decision, with or without a debate.
