I live in a small town of about 1200 people. My friend and I again co-chaired a Trunk or Treat event last night. The support of this community has been tremendous. We had so many people, businesses and committees donate money, time, talents, food and beverages it is amazing! This is just the second year we've done it and despite the cold, windy night we had between 200-250 trick or treaters outside and served between 175-200 meals I love my community! There sure were some cute costumes!! I love seeing the kids! Anyway, I'm exhausted. For lunch I had Thai beef and broccoli that I made a froze awhile back and dinner will probably be peanut butter toast. What're your plans for tonight?

I still need to go grocery shopping, so today we'll shop late afternoon then grab dinner on the way home. Oldest ds has requested Panera because he loved the entree he had the last time we went. It wouldn't be my 1st choice, but what the heck, it's quick, easy, can be relatively healthy and inexpensive.

Husband has a beer can chicken on the grill. Baked potatoes (he just bought some of those potato nails and is dying to try them out) & green salad will accompany.

I have my dgc with me today. Went swimming in the pool for about an hour, practising for swimming lesson.
Roast beef with home-made noodles, real comfort food, and with mushroom-beef gravy.

My husband and I both like to cook so are doing a joint throw-down tonight with most of the menu at the request of the 13-year-old. Hubby's making smothered pork chops and doing the roasted broccoli. I'm in charge of the rice, a corn souffle, and honey-butter croissants. The kitchen's already smelling good. We'll eat in about an hour.

I've got a pork tenderloin in the crockpot that we'll have with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and buttered carrots.

I'm inviting a friend and her two girls over. We're having homemade pancakes, scrambled eggs, fruit and fresh orange juice. Afterwards we will watch a movie and snack on popcorn.

Dh is about to put a couple of t-bone steaks on the bbq, which we will have with baked potatoes and garden salad. And a nice glass (or two or three!) of red wine for me.

Our weather turned cold today, and I'm feeling a little under the weather. I was supposed to go to a Halloween party, but instead I made a big pot of homemade chicken and rice soup, put on my sweats, and nested on the couch for the afternoon

I made a turkey breast, stuffing, mashed potatoes and butternut squash. It's chilly and rainy so a good day to cook comfort food. After I went grocery shopping in the pouring rain with everyone else in the state.
Tomorrow, I'm going to try to make OG chicken gnocchi soup for DS.

I had the best sandwich....fresh rye bread from the polish bakery, turkey, and Swiss. Sounds boring, but I love sandwiches on the weekend when we have fresh lunch meat.

DS wanted chili which is funny since he only eats the liqud part. But DH told him if he wanted it then he needed to make it. Off they went to the store, purchased everything and made it together. He was very proud of his creation and even ventured past the liquid and had some meat.

Pan-fried salmon with Thai green risotto. It's one of my favorite meals. I'm making some extra to take over to my mum's house for her. She broke her ankle a few weeks ago and can't get around very well.

We had a soup party at our house. Several friends came, each bringing a pot of soup to share and a dessert or bread. We had 38 people, including children, and 11 different soups. A good time was had by all!
But I'm pooped and glad we set our clocks back this weekend!

I told adult DS I was sick of cooking and he was in charge. He came up with chicken apple sausages, hash brown potatoes from a box, and steamed broccoli/cauliflower. Not too bad (for someone I should have forced to start cooking about 20 years ago). I pinned this recipe an hour ago (from seeing it here) and it's already been re pinned at least four times. Thank you!
