I’m trying to get us one night on the beach in Oregon, probably next week sometime. I likely will be going back to work full-time next month and the kids will have school soon. We just need to get out of the freaking house for a bit. ETA: I reserved a little suite for us tomorrow night in Seaside, right on the beach. I’ll be armed with my can of Lysol and Clorox wipes and we’ll bring our own food, but I’m so excited about the thought of going away, even for just a night. My kids agreed to go along - grudgingly .

No, and no plans anytime soon. DH has to take some time off as he has reached the max allowed, but nothing planned...

We had a long weekend in the mountains for our vacation. We just got back from flying to drop our daughter off at college and was surprised at how busy the airports were - people are definitely traveling.

No, for several reasons: Too many cases of Covid and I don’t want to take too many chances for exposure; had a knee replacement last month so I’m doing physical therapy and while doing really well, not totally normal function yet; I have no idea where I’d want to go - I haven’t traveled at all since my husband died and I’m not eager to go alone, or to go with someone else, either, I guess..

We planned to visit Australia this summer. But unfortunately, it is impossible now due to the quarantine. We applied for eTA in February through evisa.express/en/australia , and it is great that its valid period is 12 months, so I hope we will have a possibility to go to Australia till February 2021. As for spending vacation inside the motherland, we decided to go camping. It is safe and helps to rest and recharge.

We went to Spain, which is now closed for us but we have been back for a bit. However, we drove (I do not yet feel comfortable flying) and we booked a cabin in a remote area that I know well. So no cities or tourist villages, no markets, no indoor dining. We mostly cooked, but did eat out -only outside- a few times. Contrary to the Netherlands, everyone wore masks. We mostly spent time on the water and played games in the evening. Not what we'd usually do, but it was very nice to be away from home, we were very lucky.
