I know some really don't like wearing masks, but I kinda love them.
Do you know that I haven't had some guy say, "Aww, smile honey" while I've been busting my butt at work since the mask mandate?
And I love not having to fake a smile constantly. It's exhausting to try to be pleasing all the time.
Not gonna lie, also like that I don't have to be so worried that I may have a stray chin hair pop out that I didn't notice in the mirror that morning.
And I haven't had a cold this whole time, either.
I really think I might be a long term mask wearer.
How about you?

I'll wear them as long as I have to. And then maybe a little longer just to make sure we're out of the woods. But I miss smiling at people and having them smile back.

Long term no. Around here there were people wearing masks before it became a statewide mandate. I definitely joined in with that crowd and starting wearing one also. So I have no problem complying and feel that they are helpful, but do hope to not feel we need them at some point.

I miss smiles too - and general facial expressions I guess. Also I have smiled and said hello to 2 people recently who looked blankly at me until I twitched my mask down for a couple of seconds so they could see who I was! I don’t mind wearing one but I’m not sure I will continue when the compelling need passes and very few others are 🙂

As long as I need to, I'll wear them. But I look forward to the time when I can understand what people are saying again. All the mumbling and repeating myself is getting old.
ETA: I'm going to wear a mask out from now on when I'm sick.

Once we have a vaccine and things seem pretty safe I will not wear one regularly. However I may wear one during flu/cold season at work. Because too many of my coworkers come to work sick and it seems crap spreads like wildfire there. Though the last several years I have been obsessive about using hand sanitizer and not touching my face (well before covid) and that has helped me seriously cut down on the numbers of colds I get. So I may add masks to my outfit on occasion at work or when out and about running errands if it's a particularly bad flu/covid? season.

I'm probably going to be in the minority here, but I CANNOT WAIT TO STOP! When businesses lift the mandates, I'll stop immediately. I like to smile and see other people smile. To me it's very depressing to see only half of someone's face. I'm tired of being bombarded with social distancing, washing hands, and I'm so ready for normal again.

Yes, I will. I have elderly parents and a husband with cancer. I'll have to be careful for a long time.

Nope. I can't wait to stop wearing it & also carrying around sanitizer, both of which I hate but tolerate these days.

I will wear a mask until we feel the crisis has past. Either we have a vaccine, the virus has weakened sufficiently, or there are treatments that make it manageable. Until it truly becomes ' just the flu,' I expect to wear a mask. Even then I would likely wear one in certain situations. For the last few years, I've worn a disposable mask when recovering from a cold to protect others.

I absolutely think that there will be times that I will wear one. Most likely around people who are sick or if I myself am not feeling good. I have always used hand sanitizer so that’s not a big deal to continue to do.
I agree with whoever mentioned being bombarded with repetitive don’t forget to wash your hands, don’t forget to wear a mask, and don’t forget to be socially distant. I get it. And the continual repetitive constant reminders are ridiculous. Anyone who isn’t following it right now is not going to regardless of how many times they hear it or see it.

I don't mind wearing a mask. I have made several with fun prints that make me smile. And have made several fun ones for my family. I will probably still wear one for a while after the mandate in our area ends. Even with a vaccine, we still got the flu back in January when my baby grandson got the flu. He got it full blown and was so sick. DD and I both got it from him and were miserable for a few days.

I'm stopping wearing one as soon as I can go places without one. I detest the mask!

I hate them with a passion!!! They remind me of medieval torture devices. As soon as it is not mandatory anymore I will stop

Nope. The minute I'm not viewed as a callous asshole, I will stop wearing one. I hate them, and have doubts about effectiveness. Masks are effective if they are the correct type, and worn correctly, and not touched constantly, and kept sanitary. Sadly, that combination rarely happens.

I like that it hides my RBF. If I'm walking around and thinking, I especially have a stern face. I like that I haven't worn foundation since March.
I hate when I smile at someone I'm passing and then realize they couldn't see it. Or when I try to take a drink and realize I'm wearing a mask! And washing and rotating and keeping track of all the masks and making sure I have one in my purse and in my car.
I'll wear it as long as we need to, but I think I'll be happy to not have to anymore at some point.

I hate wearing a mask! The students at school don't always recognize me, and I have trouble recognizing them. I work with so many kids in the building, it is frustrating.

I've been wearing once since March - there's never been a mask mandate in my area and the few stores that mandate (but dont enforce) didn't start that until about a month ago.
I think I'll be a long-term wearer

I'll wear them as long as I have to. And then maybe a little longer just to make sure we're out of the woods. But I miss smiling at people and having them smile back. This is me. I HATE losing that little bit of humanity as I'm out and about. hate hate hate I look forward to those small connections with strangers. It makes the world a friendlier place IMO But I'll wear masks as long as I have to.

As long as necessary which I assume will be well into 2021.
We will keep them to wear in the future. Like we see used regularly in Asia.

Masks are effective if they are the correct type, and worn correctly, and not touched constantly, and kept sanitary. Sadly, that combination rarely happens. I'm with you on this! I truly feel like most of the masks are just a loose bandaid on the problem. Most are not effective and not worn right, but if you have it on - you are viewed as safe. I wear mine into Walmart and the grocery store. So I have one on for maybe an hour or so in about a 2 week time period. I still try hard to keep my distance from people and I carry a small bottle of soap and some water in my truck and wash my hands before I even get in the truck. The virus is really starting to spread here now, with football practice in full swing. School starts next week. We will see how it goes - not looking good.

I’ve been wearing them for over 20 years as part of my job so I’ll continue for as long as deemed necessary to get this virus under control. They rarely bother me and if it’s a surgical mask with a good fit then I forget I’m even wearing it.

I'll be glad when I don't have to wear a mask anymore. I've always loved kids and I always smile at them when I'm out running errands. They almost always smile back. Now, I find myself smiling at kids and they just turn away. With the mask on, they can't tell I'm smiling. I'm just some creepy lady staring at them.

I will wear it as long as it's required. After the required phase is over, I will wear it when I feel it's needed. Specifically, when I have to interact with certain individuals that have horrendous bad breath and bad hygiene. I will simply state "allergies/sinus issues, so best to wear the mask right now". Allergies and sinus issues are a frequent occurrence in my life, so that will be my reasoning, instead of saying "you smell funky" .

I'll wear them until the case numbers go way down. Like no new cases for a week or a month kind of way down.

I find that I miss joking with students and them being able to see my smile. My eyes only say so much.
I'll wear it as long as I have to, but it's not wonderful for teaching.
