I'll wear them until the case numbers go way down. Like no new cases for a week or a month kind of way down. Ours here in western NY fit this criteria...however..we still have the mask mandate

I'll wear them as long as I have to. And then maybe a little longer just to make sure we're out of the woods. But I miss smiling at people and having them smile back. Me too

I hope it becomes the norm when you are feeling under the weather long term. Ditto.

I plan on wearing it on the crowded train into downtown, once we go back. I probably won’t stop until vaccination rates are at a good level. Which could be a very long time.

I HATE losing that little bit of humanity as I'm out and about. hate hate hate I look forward to those small connections with strangers. It makes the world a friendlier place IMO But I'll wear masks as long as I have to. Same for me!!

After trial and error and finding comfortable masks that don’t fog up my sunglasses and still pass the candle test, I’m fine with them. I prefer a mask over a ventilator!

Long term no. Seasonal maybe as I do see the benefits of wearing one during cold and flu season.

Masks really don’t bother me (except when trying to open a plastic produce bag in the grocery store) and I’ll happily wear them as long as needed. But I really miss lipstick and makeup and smiling at everyone so I don’t plan on wearing it past necessary.

I have become accustomed to wearing one and am willing to do it as long as most experts believe we are better off doing so. I do look forward to the day when I can forgo the mask for the most part. Even here in the south where we speak to everybody, the social interaction is just not the same when everyone is masked.

They are okay. They cover my zits great! Where I live (lots of anti-maskers) and my son's health, it will probably be longer than most.

I don't mind. I can go out without looking presentable and no one will know it's me! haha! I have never had anyone tell me to smile, but I pretty much smile a lot. My husband gets told to smile as he doesn't smile a lot! At least the maskholes can't read my lips when I mouth the word "covidiot maskhole" when they walk by (rare, most people here wear their mask).

There won't be much point if everyone else isn't doing it. This. Where I work we deal with mostly elderly 65+ demographic. They weren't wearing masks in the Spring. About 3 weeks ago now the majority religion in the state released a statement asking people to wear masks for everyone's health and safety, and our pateints wore masks, but they whined and moaned about it. This lasted maybe 10 days. Now we are back to none of them wearing masks. Because it's all a hoax. Or something. THESE ARE THE PEOPLE MOST LIKELY TO DIE IF THEY GET COVID. And they can't be botherd.

Possibly - because I'm immunocompromised and we are moving into an open plan office and people were still coming to work with colds and coughs. Drives me crazy. I also travel to work by bus. At least we're working from home at present and I'm going to ask to keep doing this as much as possible.

I am not a fan but may wear a bit longer than mandated. I am not out of the house that often though. If I had to wear one all day at work that would be different. They make my glasses sit different and they tend to fall off if I lean over to pick something up.

Not if I can help it. They are hot, mine keeps riding up and blocking my vision, and I just find them annoying. I also have allergies and they make it really hard to wipe my constantly drippy nose...
I had drive to my dd's school to pick up her 7th grade yearbook they had a tent set up and you drove up, and didn't get out of the car. All the people handing stuff out had masks and sunglasses on and I have no idea if it was anyone I know or not... it was weird!

I will probably continue to wear one on public transportation if I have to go back to commuting full time. I am hoping for the work from home to be permanent. The amount of people coughing, sneezing and sniffling during cold and flu season is scary enough without adding into the equation the potential for some other viruses being in the air and on every surface in a train or bus.

I’m hopeful that my employer will require them forever. In my industry many people are required to wear masks all the time. I know my opinion is unpopular in my workplace. Out and about I don’t know...I think I’ll prob lay continue for a long time. Sadly, I’ve developed a skin condition and the mask covers it quite well.

I'll wear one as long as it helps control the virus. When I wore a mask for the first time in public back in April, another shopper wearing a mask greeted me. I didn't know this person and he could have easily said nothing, but I really appreciated the human connection. I decided then that when I was out in public I was going to do the same.
Mask wearing became easier when I got some anti-fogging liquid to put on my glasses. My 17 year old daughter had a bad reaction to facial sunscreen and she has been struggling with flare ups since the end of June. We are now on our third prescription med to clear it up. Kind of worked out well that this fell into the timing of mandated masks. In the future it would be great if people who are sick would mask up. I feel like if I can avoid getting Covid when I return to school that I'll probably be able to escape a lot of the bugs that normally work their way through our building.

I hadn't thought about all the positives you've mentioned. I wish we would continue wearing them if we had a cold but I don't see myself continuing on with wearing one after this is over.

I don’t mind wearing one if it’s required, but no, I don’t want to have to wear one long term. Right now, I have to wear one while doing physical therapy and frankly, it sucks. I feel like I’m inhaling the stupid thing. I really hope PT works and quickly!!

I think we'll be wearing them at work for quite some time, and if it does stop at some point, it will be a low bar for it to be reintroduced.
I think I'll be wearing them for longer than most out in public. When the pandemic is essentially over, it's summer & the risk of infection is low, I probably won't, but in winter when there are respiratory viruses around then I'll be wearing them in public again, especially in crowded situations.
The first time I wore a mask in public (a couple of weeks before it was made mandatory here) and mask wearers were few and far between, I felt like a bit of a fool, but I'm over that now. I don't care what people think and will wear one if I think the situation calls for it.

No. I hate wearing a mask. I do it to comply with work regulations and our local mandate and because I think that right now it's the right thing to do. But as soon as I don't have to, I won't. I agree though, I do enjoy not always having to worry if I missed a chin hair or if I have food in my teeth.
