As of today, I will not make any scrapbooking purchases, no matter how tempting... minus anything I cannot live without via Peachy Cheap I just received an unexpected car repair bill... there are no words That car repair bill has taken up my monthly budget for everything. It's gonna be a looooonnng month I'm sorry - it's the worst when you have to spend the fun money on necessary but oh so not fun things

Well today I placed an order at target. I didn’t need $25 of it but it’s fancy shoes and a Xmas present for my daughter. I’m a fail at this game already. Not a fail, like Linda said, it's just one day. I pretty much immediately read a different thread here, clicked over for a freebie, and added a couple of digital things to my cart to say thanks for the free thing. So I lasted all of 5 minutes! And it was crafty stuff! But digital, so that counts for something right?

So I was going to do this...but it's Stamptember at SSS. I know I will cave and at least buy one or two sets.

Organization moved to the top of the list last night! Never in my 25 years of scrapbooking did I have 2 ongoing albums for the same child and same photos. I'm feeling really mad at myself for all those extra photos that were ordered. Fortunately I only found three duplicate pages. So,
who wrote it better, A or B?

Thanks. I thought I edited my post with two of the pages, but it ended up being a new one below your comment.

refugeepea they are all great but A, B, B are my favorites. I love bright colorful paper lol. ebbie that sucks! I'm sorry you had that unexpected bill. AND that it too your crafty budget. So far so good here - it's the 2nd and I've held strong lol. And I will definitely be staying out of that thread looking for sales lol.

Just threw some stuff in my Amazon cart and then thought - wait. It is such an automatic instinct. Both items can wait a month and see if I really need them. This is going to be a long month

This is going to be a long month Right? Middle of day two and it's a struggle. It seems as if every shopping enterprise on Earth comes out with their holiday offerings during September. I started mindlessly looking at Halloween door hangers on etsy last night and then remembered my September goal. I definitely don't NEED a door hanger. I'm hoping this will help me curb some of my "entertainment" spending - even after the month is over.

This is going to be a long month yup - decided on a September project (30 lists) and added an album and page protectors to my Amazon cart...BUT I didn't check out. I'll save them and buy them when my project is FINISHED (at the earliest Oct 1st) DD13 wants to go to HL...I got a really generous gift card from DH for my birthday but I'm trying to hold off on using any of it - I have enough stuff, more than enough, for now. So hoping DH takes her instead of me

Yes! I’m in! I’ve been in heavy retail therapy the last few months. I really need to stop. I think what will make this doable is I have a birthday this month, so it won’t be completely without something new. I just won’t be the one to buy it! Wait, is that cheating?!? lol

Yeah, no, I can’t promise a no spend September. ( I probably should but shopping is making me happy right now, I am not over budget even with the furlough ) But I’ll cheer you all on from the side lines.
( off to look at Nuvo & Stamptember sales )

So I was going to do this...but it's Stamptember at SSS. I know I will cave and at least buy one or two sets. That was my reaction too! But maybe we can have a spend-less Stamptember? I have barely looked at SSS so far - nothing in the promo pictures I saw yesterday caught my eye.

Well I ended placing an Amazon order for a hair product that's been out of stock for months, but I'm back on the wagon and staying strong.

I'm in.
I am sitting in a very well stocked craft room that up until March hadn't been touched in about four years except for the odd card. My stuff may be out of date but I figure I liked it well enough to buy it at one point so I need to use it.
Now if someone has a good sale on albums all bets are off I really need some albums.

I feel like I should come here to confess my sins. I spent $15 at TM. My local TM closed and the nearest one is 45 minutes away. I get out so infrequently that it could several months until I'm back there so I went in knowing full well that I would spend money if I found something I liked. I'm still doing well for only spending $25 on scrappy supplies in the last 9 weeks, though, so I won't lay a thick guilt trip on myself. Just a thin one.

I can totally relate - ours is about an hour and I usually only get there 2-3 times a year (Christmas and Back to School shopping and maybe one more time) and I haven't been since Christmas. We're still staying safer at home as much as possible so it'll be some time before we consider venturing out that far but I would totally break my spending fast if we did

I just heard a great phrase from a lady on Instagram I follow who is doing a Spending Detox for the month of Sept. That is exactly how I feel right now - the need to detox from spending so much money on random stuff in my life.

Day 4: Today is my payday. I'd normally put in an Amazon order, maybe do a Target run, perhaps stop by a craft store (only did that once since the start of COVID), and probably browse Zulily. Especially before a holiday weekend so I had things to play with over the longer weekend. Not that I can't shop from what is already contained within my house. Today is going to be rough without my payday instant gratification rush. It's amazing how I use shopping as a coping mechanism. And how bad I am at holding on to my money.
