Awesome start to the month, everyone! I am behind in meeting the sketches. Including today, I think I have 4 yet to take on. Have them printed and on my scrap counter. But I have 11 pages and one card created & posted and have added up my points for all of them, so I see myself as ahead of the game!
No crafting today, but there will be some "cha-ching" points for sure! Need to run some mundane errands, but will definitely fit in printing photos and picking up the [little] stack of goodies the LSS has put away for me, and am planing on meeting a friend for supper. So I will be coming home with new photos and new supplies, and hopefully some renewed energy!
Wishing all you DIVA's a fun crafty weekend! If you want to join a few of us crafting on Sunday morning, I will be setting up a Google Hangouts session at 9:00AM MDT, and playing for the rest of the morning. Would love to have you join in. The link will be posted in the GS board.

Hi friends Just popping in from my scrapbooking retreat. So far I’ve completed 27 cards. Today I have to leave for a few hours and it’s my day to prepare dinner. So I won’t have a big count today, but we still have tomorrow! I hope everyone is having a great month!

Wow, great cardmaking gmcwife1! I'd love a retreat where we got to cook for ourselves - it would make it way less spendy. Our LSS hosts a retreat twice/year (well, pre-covid they did...) and it's a BIG crowd in a nice resort on a beach. But it's over $400 for 2 nights, 2 1/2 days. That's for double occupancy too. I can't do that. I'm in the middle of another 2 page spread. I feel like I'm doing far more 2 page layouts due to the sketches, and it is TIME CONSUMING! Let's just say...safe to assume the rest own sketch contributions will be 1 page LOs

I guess I imagined that I wrote a reply to the recent chit chat here - oops! grammadee your comment about the moose and your corn made me laugh out loud. I’m sorry you lost your crop but I do rather like the image of you out there defending your garden from marauders. FIL got the moose antlers (rack? IDK anything about this stuff) from a widow he did some handyman work for. Sounds like she practically gave them to him. They were awfully impressive. I felt bad for the poor guy who had to carry them around in his head. Did you get a frost? Summer is fleeting up there, isn’t it? We are enveloped in a “super massive” cloud of wildfire smoke that’s basically choking the entire west coast. It’s disgusting, although not as bad as what CA and OR have been dealing with. The house is shut up and I can’t go anywhere or do any gardening so I guess that’s helping me craft. I’m back to cardmaking, although I have to spend some time setting up the sales too. At least my husband is handling the rest of the taxidermy. I’m working on juicers and retro kitchenware. Sold an old egg crate, some fishing lures, a wooden office chair, and some Depression glaso this week. ComplicatedLady are you still on a roll? Did you make a decision about your pink floral supplies? A beach vacation sounds nice... jeremysgirl the weekend is almost here! I hope you have fun with the sketches natscraps how is school going so far? It’s a challenging time. Hopefully the second half of the month is easier. kitbop you won?! How exciting! SCT is awesome. I hope you get your prize quickly. Congrats nylene I’ve never done a scrap page from a sketch but I’ve tried card sketches and I almost always veer off track. I can follow a recipe, I read instructions, but with crafting I usually end up wanting to try different things and go my own way. I need to catch up and see what you’ve been working on (what everyone has been working on!) I’m really behind. It’s like I blinked and lost a whole week of September. I don’t know where it went.

Oops, and I didn’t even notice we were on to page 2. gmcwife1 glad you’re having fun making cards. I’m back at my desk making cards too. We’ll have to compare notes later. I pulled out that awesome panda print you sent me which I somehow ran out of mojo to use and made a bit of a plan yesterday. Hopefully I’ll have a couple of dozen fun cards made out of it by the end of the weekend. grammadee I’m getting a few cha-ching points too. I haven’t bought much these past few months but I got a big stack of stuff this week for upcoming holidays and just for fun.

grammadee I’m getting a few cha-ching points too. I haven’t bought much these past few months but I got a big stack of stuff this week for upcoming holidays and just for fun. I have done my part throughout the pandemic to keep the crafting industry afloat. But ordering on line is never the same experience for me as shopping in person. Where is that Wilma Flintstone meme running into the store yelling "Charge it!!!" ?
Yesterday I visited our LSS. She had put some stuff away for me, which I had pre-ordered or asked her to put away--I guess that is a form of shopping on line, right?-- But I spent some time wandering through the stacks of goodness, just LOOKING . Covid has changed my shopping habits a bit. I look, but don't touch unless I am planning to purchase. Not quite the same, and I think it cuts down on impulse buys. (Well that, and the fact I knew I was going to have to pay for my considerable stack of lay aways.)
Chose a few extras to go with the collections she had put away, plus one die to add to the stack, but still came away with quite the filled shopping bag.
200 points for the TEAM!!!

It would go perfect with a 6x6 pad I just used! I did 8 cards yesterday, I was exhausted from my workout I just completed 10 today. It’s both sad and crazy how smoky it is all over here Mountlake Terrace and Snohomish are both bad and they are about 30 minutes away from each other. Yesterday at the gym there was ash on the equipment inside the gym. They are in a catch 22, they have to keep the doors open because of covid, but then the ash comes in.

Yesterday at the gym there was ash on the equipment inside the gym. They are in a catch 22, they have to keep the doors open because of covid, but then the ash comes in. Oh wow, that's not good. We've been looking at the air quality maps and it seems like most of WWa is around 200ppm, very unhealthy, or a little higher, but there were some spots in EWa (and Portland area, of course) with 400, 500ppm, and off the charts - one was 700+ which I guess must've been right by a fire. It's awful. The sky is dirty yellow here today. And we had a window fan going with an air filter attached to it, because it was just too hot to sleep at night, and the filter got so dirty in only a couple of days. Thankfully it's a bit cooler now so we've shut up all the windows. 2020 is very serious about keeping us in the house. I'm going to try and work on some virus diaries pages today, but hopefully I will have some cards to share later today too. Have fun making!

joblackford gmcwife1 I'm sorry about the air! My Mom's area (she lives 2 blocks from the Washington border, on the coast) is under a "10+" warning...it doesn't go higher. However, when I dug a little deeper to find the ppm you referenced, they are just above 100ppm, so I can only imagine what you guys are under! Yuck.

I guess we aren’t quite as high as I thought, maybe 150ish. I’ve had my lights on all day though and the air looks like fog or drizzle. We have some stores we operate in Eastern WA that had to close. The air over there seems much worse. I can’t even imagine. It kept me inside crafting instead of doing garden clean up. That can wait.

70 cards in one weekend, gmcwife1? You are my hero!!! Had fun on the Hangout session this morning. Got me back into gluing pieces of paper together. So far for today I have two two page LO's and one single page. Checking off three of the SKETCHtember challenges, and have a sample ready for Tuesday. Still "behind", but not so much, now, and I still have a couple of page kits with papers & pic's to check off at least one other sketch challenge. I plan to put together a Word document with all of the SKETCHtember challenges so I can use them for future inspiration, but also just to check off the ones I have completed. When I get it done at the end of the month, I will link it to the SKETCHtember challenge list in case anyone else would like it. might be handy for those of you who want to try for the completion bonus...

Thank you joblackford jeremysgirl and grammadee Sheet load of cards has really helped my card production! I was also able to use a couple of 6X6 paper pads. The retreat was fun and relaxing! But I’m glad to get home and back to my routine (after camping and then the retreat) I missed my dogs

70 cards is a lot!! The last two in-person crops I've been able to attend that us all I have done. Less creative energy needed and I don't have to take near as much stuff.

gmcwife1 70 cards is impressive! I am so glad that I can use my kit for the Sketchtember challenges. The more I think about it, I may save it for my brother’s wedding next year. I can take my little photo printer and after the wedding and reception, print some pictures to put in the album, and give it as a gift. I have about a year to decide, so now rush! Sketchtember has got me using up this kit, having fun making layouts, and digging into my stash to meet some of the twist challenges. This has been a great month for scrapping so far. I hope I can keep it up for the rest of the month! Everyone who is affected by the fires in the US, please stay safe. We are getting a bit of the haze and smoke in Phoenix, but nothing like others are dealing with.

gmcwife1, I plan to make Christmas cards at our LSS October crop. Would LOVE to come away with somewhere even NEAR 70 cards! Planning on using some basic card designs, 6x6 pads, and coordinating diecuts & stickers, so maybe it's possible... I want to use some of my gnome stamps and dies, so thinking I might do some of that ahead of time. The LSS usually has a Big Shot there for participants' use, but not sure how that will go with COVID, so I will need to diecut ahead of time here with my Vagabond, or pack up my old trusty Cuttlebug... Well, I had a good productive weekend. Still 3 behind in the sketches, but 3/15 is not as intimidating as 4/8 was last week. I need to add my points before score keeping becomes a hill to climb...

Well, I haven't been good with keeping up with comments, but I have been busy at work! So far I have 35+ layouts completed! I do a virtual crop this weekend and DH was wonderful, took the day off Friday so I could start then and took care of the kids, chores, food and everything! It was just want I needed to reset since I haven't had time off and to myself since last year at this time! jeremysgirl Because of you mentioning Vicki Boutin’s new line, I had to look…and spent way too much! gmcwife1 70 cards! Wow! Way to go!

Whew! I am wondering why I am not having those recurring student dreams where I was always behind in my assignments &/or did not have a clue how to start them (which later morphed into a teacher dream where I was completely unprepared for class and ended up in front of a bunch of students not even knowing what the topic of my lecture was supposed to be...) Somehow I thought I was three sketches behind. Then I completed 3 today and realize I am STILL one behind, and that the next sketch will be arriving any minute now for tomorrow! Plus I have one more sample to put together. So will STILL be 3 behind.
Seriously, though, having fun and getting photos and stories onto pages: can't get any better than that! (And maybe, eventually, I will learn how to do a decent cluster...)
I have the Word document with all the sketches so far. Don't want to attach it until it is completed at the end of the month. But if you would like me to email you a copy, just PM me and I will send you an intirim list.
How are the DIVA's this evening? Got scrappy plans for the weekend? Will you be joining into the Google Hangout tomorrow? I will try to stop in for a bit, and maybe even scrap if I can find my scrap counter after the mess I made today.

I'm having a "slow" week because work is occupying my time and soul! I was up half the night last night with my mind churning. Ugh. I have a 2 pager on my desk that is s.l.o.w.l.y. being finished. I have to work the weekend too, so probably won't be as creative as I'd like. I am preordering the new Vicki B. stuff from my LSS. They also have the new photoplay "oh Canada" and "hockey" lines for pre-order grammadee boymom5 - wow, 35 layouts is amazing! I'm hoping to get the 30 sketches done this month. I'm about 5 behind currently, but I'm still optimistic becaise I am having fun with these sketches. I'm so happy it's sketchtember

You will turn out gorgeous pages with it. Not sure if I would do justice to it.
No resistance even attempted for the PhotoPlay O Canada 2 and Hockey lines: my LSS has ordered both, and is putting away a full meal deal of the collection for me. I really need that stamp!

grammadee I completely understand what you mean. I always feel like I'm behind on everything! I did end up grabbing the new VB stuff since it was so pretty and I find is coordinates with her other lines well. I got it earlier this week and it is pretty. Now to use it... kitbop You sound like you're keeping up on the sketches. I'm getting a ton of pages done, but not using the sketches from here as much. I only have 6 used I think. But I'm up to 58 pages done so far and I'm hoping to get 2019 finished and I'm trying to use more of the sketches to inspire me.

How are the Divas? I've noticed things are slowing down a little on the sharing thread. Are we all just a bit burnt out? I was so on track with those sketches, and now I'm a long ways behind. Still hopeful. But. I got hung up on a sketch this week (I'm looking at YOU grammadee!) and it took a few approaches before I got it done last night. It's my Mom's birthday and I didn't get a card off to her She's someone who criticizes homemade cards - they aren't worthy - I don't know who brainwashed her into the idea that store bought is classier, but that is very definitely her attitude! I make her a card anyways She's the worst with sympathy cards. When I made a sympathy card for a friend who lost her husband, my Mom thought it was rather "tacky" Don't worry, I've learned to ignore her!

Even if this week is a little slower, there has been a whole lotta crafting going on this month!!! ((((Hugs)))), kitbop about your mom's comments about your cards. Am I allowed to be fair to her? When we were growing up, our mothers made all our clothes and we hardly ever had anything new. It was a luxury to be able to buy something rather than have the homemade version. I remember my brothers stopping into the grocery store after school to buy a loaf of McGavin's sliced white bread, and then they would eat the whole loaf on the way home and hide all the evidence so my mother wouldn't know. Guess all those preservatives tasted way better than Mom's home baked loaves... If I can use the excuse that "I grew up with nothing" to defend my hoarding now, she might get a small pass on preferring bought to homemade cards... On second thought, just put her on IGNORE. I was doing really well. Was caught up, in fact, on Monday. But then. I. Opened. My. Christmas. Cupboard.... And got sucked into the whirlwind of Christmas crafty supplies! I had intended to "just make my CARDtober samples and back away." Which would be good if I didn't now have a 2 inch layer of all things Christmas all over my scrap counter. Trying to resist, and stuff it back into that cupboard for at least another week... If we didn't have dd coming here and potato digging this weekend, I would be in good shape to get finished all the sketches. Have my sample for the 29th done, so nine more to do in 6 days. (well a few more days b/c we have some time in October...) I have a page kit put together for a facing page for that one ready to go when a new sketch speaks to me. Managed to print my fall foliage photos yesterday, and hoping to use them for yesterday's sketch, but waiting for another one pager to go with it before I start. Think I will put together another page kit for that one. But first I need to find some space on a counter without letting all those Christmas pretties trick me into playing with them!
