A discussion for those of us who don't have a SB room, don't have space (mental and/or physical) to hold on to many things or build a "proper stash" like many scrapbookers do. Share your organisation, inspiration, decluttering methods and whatever else contributes to keeping a small stash in here!

I had a eureka moment today when I transferred my 4x6 stamp sets and all 4x6 alpha label sticker sheets in a medium-sized Nomess clear drawer. Fits wonderfully! I have a little extra space on the side where I added some 3x4 stamp sets. I can't believe almost all my stamp sets are now in one place... Victory! 95% of my stamp sets + all my alpha and label sheets fit in this:

I have a bigger space than you but a much smaller space/stash than others
One thing that works well for me is to have specific spaces for my stuff and when they are full, I need to STOP buying, START using, and consider purging. Right now I'm at capacity so even though DH gave me a generous gift card for my birthday, I'm not shopping until I make space by using up stuff and passing along things I won't use.
I also find that I need to be judicious about jumping on new tool/media/trend bandwagons - I don't have space to buy all the things and the reality is that I'm not going to USE all the things either. So I mull over new purchases of non-consumables (or even slow consumables like inks/nuvos) and when I do buy, I limit myself - I don't need all the colours or all the varieties - and if I find I don't like it/don't use it, then I need to pass it along to someone else.

I'm totally here for this thread!
I have 4 wall organizers (2 baskets, 2, two slotted letter/mail holders ). I place 6x12 stickers/phrase thickers by brand + collection in the letter carrier, 6x12 alpha thickers and 4x6-5x7 alphas in old studio calico zipper bags are organized into the two separate wall mounted basket systems).
The other supplies are in 4 utility carts. Stamps and cards are stored in clear refrigerator organizers. All ephemera packs are opened and sorted by theme in 5x7 clear iris cases.
Albums are on a shelf, unused albums are stored in a trunk (plants are placed on top of it) until use and mini albums are in a basket on the floor where they can be pulled out easily for viewing by little hands and larger ones.
Tools are on the lower level of the utility carts, except the Silhouette.

I don't know if I count as a small stash & space, but I definitely consider mine limited. My scrap stuff is all contained in my tiny bedroom. Most of my stuff is albums in progress or finished. Everything else either fits under or on top of my 24" long desk. All of my stickers, enamel dots, die cuts and chipboard fit in one fabric bin (the size that would fit into one Kallax cube). I have one shoebox size bin that holds all my punches. My dies & cutting mats share a space in a plastic drawer under my desk, along with adhesive, brads, eyelets, and pop dots. And like linda I don't buy all the colors & varieties of things I try. I find it makes it a lot easier to use up.

They have a size that perfectly fits PL cards ( large I think ) and that is where I keep my PL cards.

*puts hand up* Please may I join in! I definitely consider myself a small stasher. I have one raskog trolley, one drawer and a couple of letter organisers, and a kallax unit for albums and tools. Definitely not as limited on space as you sleepingbooty but I do have to keep my stash minimal - for storage reasons. And I find it easier to scrap with less. I hope to add as much as I can to this thread! I loooove storage solutions for small spaces.

I share an office with my husband so I have limited space as well. I've been purging stuff I know I won't use or stuff that doesn't "bring me joy". I used to have so much stuff and it rendered me unable to create because of too many choices! I still want to get rid of more but now I'm down to the stuff I really love which will be harder to get rid of.

Yay, already quite a few small stashers in here! Did I just empty another clear shoe drawer? Am I kitting up Kelly Purkey cards into themed and colour-matching sets while rewatching the first season of Revenge to fill that drawer with ready-to-use mini kits and purge the rest? Why, yes, a double resounding yes. Ladies, I think I can store most of my stash besides the few 12x12 pattern papers, cardstock, vellum and tools I own into 2 of those clear drawers. I'll know later tonight but it sure looks like it. *continues organising cards by colour and theme*

I have a small space to craft, but wouldn't say I had a small stash. It isn't huge, but not super small either. I love me some stamps! (And yes, still can't find my crafty mojo).

Me!!!!! Stamps are my downfall. I have 2.5 of those bins filled with stamps.
I have goals to downsize more but right now I’m loving all the stuff I own. It takes up about 6’ of wall space including my desk.

Right now I'm at capacity so even though DH gave me a generous gift card for my birthday, I'm not shopping until I make space by using up stuff and passing along things I won't use. I totally get the limit on a certain amount of stuff. I also don't do well when I have too much of a certain category, let alone several. It's a good thing the pandemic has left me with extra creative time so I could start using my new purchases straight away this year. It's also always good to use your stuff before you buy so you can purchase what you're really into currently. I hope you'll have loads of fun shopping when you're ready for it! Love all these alternative ways to store scrap goodies! It's hard to find everything you have if you're not super organised in this craft. Sounds like you have a great system going for you. And like linda I don't buy all the colors & varieties of things I try. I find it makes it a lot easier to use up. Long live neutrals (and favourite colour schemes)! The Container store here sells drawers like that. They call them Shoe drawers I think. If they have a similar build on the lower part, they must slide like butter like the Nomess do. I love how easy it is to access everything in these! Definitely not as limited on space as you sleepingbooty but I do have to keep my stash minimal - for storage reasons. And I find it easier to scrap with less. I agree, less stuff is more creativity for me as well. My brain immediately goes into what-do-I-like-the-most mode when I have a lot to choose from. I used to have so much stuff and it rendered me unable to create because of too many choices! I still want to get rid of more but now I'm down to the stuff I really love which will be harder to get rid of. Kudos on the big purge! If you're down to what you really love, it sounds like you've done most of the job. Maybe you can give yourself a few months to play with your favourites before you decide whether to pair down more or not? That is one impressingly tiny, well-curated stash I just finished. It all fits in 2 clear drawers minus inks, tools, dies and larger papers. I even have room to spare.

I'm a small stasher! I scrap in the living room, and all my goodies have to live there as well. I have a little drawer unit, one box for 12x12 papers, and a small tub for tools such as trimmer and tape. I am definitely "at capacity". My next apartment wish list is for a spare bedroom! I'm trying to convince the husband that Working from Home is here to stay, that both of us working in the living room, as well as using the living room for scrapping and other things like watching tv, is not conducive!

I thought mine was "small" but maybe it's medium? I have about four feet of wall space in my shared home office. I have six of those white Recollections organizer cubes, stacked in two rows of 3, with a custom-finished wood top (on which sits my printer and a stackable 12x12 paper tray from WRMK). There are two shelves on the wall above, each holding a narrow wicker basket of Thickers alphas and two pencil cups. And I have a swing-arm pants hangar nailed to the wall holding my washi tape. I like how compact it is. My tactic is to simply buy/store only what fits. If it gets full, I need to pull from my stash for the next project. Oh, and I work on projects at my desk. There's really only enough room for my laptop, external monitor/mouse, and one in-progress scrapbook page--plus a small letter holder for wrangling photos, journal cards, and stickers for the current project. I'm always looking for new and better storage solutions--I live in a small condo--so thanks for this thread! I am going to try to add a photo here. I've kept my stash at a reasonable size by not ever getting into stamping or mixed media. The only things I have that are even remotely linked to those are a couple of roller date stamps and a bottle of glimmer mist. Several months ago I did a pretty good sized paper purge. I never missed those papers that I got rid of. Now I'm more careful about what I buy. I know what kind of supplies I will actually use and don't buy things just because I like them anymore. Another thing that helps is having my Cameo. I don't have a million punches or Thickers to store.

I thought mine was "small" but maybe it's medium? I have about four feet of wall space in my shared home office. I think small can mean a lot of different things for different people! Like when someone says they have a small house and you realize it’s twice as big as what you live in >.< I think if you can fit your space/stash into a single photo like you did it’s pretty small. BTW I went down a bit of a rabbit hole watching your story highlights behind your scrappy organizing, which was fun. I loved The Booksellers documentary too! Anyway, I like how you’re able to hide lots (relatively lots) of supplies away in a nice compact space. Drawers for the win! And your washi tape hanger is great. A nice way to enjoy all the color and pattern and have it accessible.

Tiny house is the dream, minus everyone but me.
What helps: -A spot for everything and no overflowing allowed. It's not perfect, but is manageable.
-A tool caddy that keeps my scissors, adhesive, trimmer, white eraser, pens, post it note pads, and pens. Especially helpful for locating scissors! Love the side pockets. I got it several years ago at Walmart, but it resembles something an electrician would use. -I don't try to be perfectly organized. For example, I have a space for scraps. I put them in gallon sized bags. When the bags get too full for me, I go through them until it feels manageable for finding the right color.
-When it comes to bulkier embellishments, I'm a dump and sort kind of person. If there's too much to dig through, it becomes overwhelming to me. I sort the embellishments in gallon plastic bags with zip closures and smaller plastic bags.
- I reuse plastic bags all the time. As stash changes, it's easy to move things around. I have one gallon bag with smaller plastic bags and a two gallon bag that stores extra gallon bags. I go there first instead of grabbing a new one from my kitchen. -Know my style. I'm a simple, fairly flat scrapper who doesn't use embellishments much. If I do buy, it's mainly paper and stamps that are versatile.
I'm far from minimal, but I have plans to get there! -Weed down the scrap supplies, so they all fit in or on top of the expedit unit. It is also the entertainment center, so I don't have all of the space.
-Get rid of premade embellishments and some cards. Trust me, they are bad, bad, bad, and old. -Buy 1 more 12x12 paper holder to store cardstock scraps. They work better than the current magazine holders I'm using.
-Scrap! or do something with the supplies I have.
Where I'm not doing so great - I have a variety of manual dies; Sizzix, metal, and Sizzlit. It's hard to streamline them to smaller storage. I did do a purge a few years ago, I do have what I love right now. It's just a lot of different sizes. I currently have them stored in a doll cupboard. Some metal dies are in binders with magnetic sheets. Some are in a 6x6 mini CD crate. Where I struggle with supplies is the ease of having options and shortcuts. I was doing a page tonight using mini alpha stamps and I found myself cussing, I should have an array of mini alpha stickers in this font and different colors and I'd save so much time! Probably the biggest thing is the energy to have my space looking better. I need to set a timer for 10-15 minutes a day. Better than nothing.

One of the frustrations I have as a small space/small stasher who LOVES organizing videos is that most of them are done by maximalists. So when I look for ways to store my stencils or inks I'm talking about 10 stencils or 30 ink pads, not a wall of them. I have a lot of different things, like most crafters, but not very many of each (3 bottles of Nuvo drops, 2 rolls of minc foil). You'd think that means there's no need to really organize, but storing things correctly so they last and so I can find them when I want them is still a challenge. Do you know what I mean?
I think I have most of my stuff pretty well organized but I just got a new desk with DRAWERS and so I'm able to move some things around. I'll try to share some of my process - it might help me and maybe will be useful or interesting to you all. (And more organizing points for the Sept challenge!)

I find that the hardest part about organising a small stash is finding a good workflow. In truth, if I had a larger home, I wouldn't dedicate a room to scrapbooking or crafting. I'd probably have a multipurpose office instead which would still require an organisational system that would allow to go from one activity to the next easily and hassle-free. I don't want to "shop around" to find everything I need. There is very little emphasis on organisation for productivity and ease of workflow in the organisational YT sphere which is such a shame.

scrappieannie Such a cute and well-organised scrap nook! It looks like the smaller drawers would still fit those 6x12 Thickers packages, too. Really neat. scrappyrabbit A fellow living room crafter! I do most of my scrappy play sitting on the floor at the coffee table (hence my screen name due to my buttocks falling asleep when I'm busy on a page). I kind of wouldn't want it to change though. I'd just love a bigger coffee table and some extra storage space but I revel in the "social" aspect of my crafting. A lot of chatting with my SO and Netflix watching while I get busy with paper. It's become a habit.

Ditto! I have this problem as well. I don't have a lot of anything (except washi tape and acrylic stamps) but I have little bits of everything. It's hard to figure out the best way to organize my stuff so I will remember to use it. Ditto in the organization videos.
I always think I have a ‘large’ stash until I watch an organization video and then I’m like wow I really have nothing.
Right now my ink storage is an issue
I had 1 5x7 photo box of about 12 mini inks and maybe 5 regular inks and 4 embossing powders and it all fit in a shoe box. Great. THEN my LSS got me into blending inks so that leads to purchasing blending brushes, that was fine for awhile but then I “needed’ more than 3 blendable inks which lead to buying most of Wendy Vecchi inks collection ( sized medium - between regular & mini I now have 18 of those ) so those are in a 2nd shoe box but I have to keep it over on my Silhouette stand but I don’t like that because I can’t just grab it I have to wheel over there grab it & wheel back. ( I’m lazy )
Most ink storage ideas are for full sized inks and 100’s of them. Yeah, no, I can’t use 100’s of them I have no where to keep them. If I stumble upon anything in my quest I’ll post it here

There is very little emphasis on organisation for productivity and ease of workflow in the organisational YT sphere which is such a shame. Very true. Using 12x12 Iris cases was suggested on the thread I started about not having a scrap space and feeling overwhelmed. Starting and stopping is the hardest thing for me. I'm happy to report having a work in progress page with all the items I think I may or may not use has been very helpful. I finish the page and put the items back in their respective places and then start again. I limit the items I use and pages get done!
I've learned I can't be doing too many projects at once or I'll not realize I have 2 ongoing albums for the same child with the same photos.
